Group: Warrior
Likes: •Her culture and way of life
•Faunus (and occasionally humans) who understand her and how she wishes to live and be
•People who are respectful and polite towards others
•Dogs, wolves, and jackals (any canine or canid)
• Sand
•Desert temperature or climate and ecosystems
Dislikes:
•Technolgy- but can be reasoned with if the tech shows its merit and value.
•Ignorant Faunus and humans- those who believe that living without technology make you lesser or an 'animal'
•Humid, wet, tropical places
•Being indoors or in a place without windows
•People touching her ears, or asking dumb questions about them.
•Water in large quantities and cold temperatures - drawback of living in a desert one's whole life.
•Butterflies and moths- they freak her out
Fears:
•Small Enclosed spaces, cages, elevators, etc.
•Drowning/Having to Swim. Never growing up around water has made her fearful of it and its potential to kill or smother her.
•Being forced to conform and utilize technology in everyday life.
•Forgetting her culture or traditions in favor of new ones that are imposed upon her
•Heights- she dislikes being high above the ground, be it in a building, a plane or some other means.
•Persecution by authorities for being a Faunus. If the law ever came to that (which it hopefully won't)
Overall Personality: Sometimes cold, domineering, and overbearing at times. She can seem blunt and straightforward with others and down right harsh with some, but she does have a softer side. Only few are witness to it because she is so used to being persecuted or discriminated against that she maintains her prickly outer shell as a barrier between her and them. She has a slight prejudice towards humans, and technology dependent individuals. She sees them as weal or unfit for the real world, while they might see her as the same for not being able to use technology pr understanding it very well.
She is attuned to nature and finds a calm reserve in its embrace, often wandering off and finding herself aimlessly wandering through the forests surrounding Syne Academy when she is frustrated or she needs to think. Her family has caused her to develop her own sense of identity and culture and her own set of traditions based off of her families. Other may see it as weird, such as her state of dress or the gold face and eye paint she applies, but she finds it grounding and symbolic of who she is.
Abilities
Aura type: Resistance
Aura Color: Purple- Dark Purple almost Black
Semblance: Pyrokinesis- she can conjure and manipulate flames. Her flames appear purple and can range to a dark purple almost black depending on how much power she's putting behind it. They can be utilized passively for light and lighting small fires or torches, but she can also channel it through her axe to cause burn damage and the like.
Item 1: Ancient Egyptian Style Fan Blade Ax. Heavily modified and reinforced with bronze, gold, and steel. Semblance can be channeled through the head of the blade causing purple flames to appear at the end. Can be used passively for light or to cause damage. Dust can be slotted into a compartment on the handle to help boost the flames at the blade.
Item 2: Skirt armor. The hem of the skirt is composed of gold plated bronze capsules that can hold dust. The same material comes down and plates her outer and slightly inner thighs, two of the plates of the skirt on the right are detachable, sharp, and disk like (thrown projectiles if need be). The middle and back of the skirt is more of a sturdy loin cloth which covers her and doesn't restrict movement. All the pieces attach and combine to form the skirt armor.
History and Sample
- History:
- Anput or Ahn was born to the harsh desert lands of Vacuo to a loving mother and father. Both were Faunus that were lucky enough to live in a heavily Faunus dominated. It may have been an arranged marriage of two jackal families that wanted to keep the bloodline pure and untainted by humans or other faunus, but the mother and father still grew to love one another and there daughter.
Due to the area Ahn grew up in she was exposed to a more feral and wild side of life, with little to no prejudice or even contact with humans. The harsh desert restricted what clothing one could wear and so what others would see as scantily clad she saw as practical. A simple golden wrap for her chest and her battle skirt were what she grew into. Her grandfather gifting her his own battle axe and showing her the ins and outs of how to utilize her semblance and how to fight back against the Grim that threatened Vacuo and thus her family.
Stories of Faunus' superiority over humans was all but shoved down her throat at a young age. This has caused her to grow arrogant and haughty of her race when she first encountered humans. She saw them as weak, there senses dulled and babbling in comparison to hers. Where she could see in the dark they bumbled like new born kits searching for there mother's warmth. Vacuo was harsh and Ahn saw hukans as unfit for survival in the climate, whilst her family thrived and lived among the dessert lands as one with the land.
Thus when her family had to move to Bellmuse Kingdom it was quite the culture shock for her. Her father, having grown up in Atlas was seasoned in the ways of technology that his wife and child were not. Living where they did in Vacuo they had been virtually cut off from most forms of tech. and having to make the sudden move would make the transition much more difficult. Ahn found that the new place was terrifying. She didn't understand what half of the things were, nor why there were si little Faunus and why the few faunus that were there were looked down upon as savage and too animalistic. Perhaps this is why Ahn was picked on far more than others. She was different from even the regular Faunus. She was wild, freer, unbound by technology and social norms that the others had been raised in. She was alien to them. Different than even the faunus who were considered different. She and her family were freaks, even among other faunus who turned their noses up at them for embracing the wilder side of life, for living without technology and modern clothing, or weapons like guns and lasers. Being traditional meant you were lesser to them, when back home it meant something to be proud of.
She grew apart from others, refusing to give up her ways, to trade in her weapon for a fancy new one with mods and doodads. Others poked fun at her clothing and dress, but she didn't listen. She tried not to listen to them. She held out, keeping her traditions and familial values while others tried to get her to conform to change. To their way of life.
Finally everything she had done had payed off. Someone noticed her traditional fighting style and way of thinking. How she knew how to survive in the wild without technology or help. She was invited to Syne Academy where she could train to become a better Huntress and prove that just because her way of living was different, and just because she didn't rely on technology as a handicap or way to live that she could fight alongside the best of them.
- RP Sample:
- Ahn walked lightly across the pavement, her black foot wrappings kept her steps quiet and concealed unlike the click clack of whose that the humans and other faunus made as they walked past and around her, going about their daily lives. She felt their eyes on her, burning and searing. Judging and looking down on her. She heard gasps, saw pointed fingers and side glances meant go unnoticed, but she saw it all. Her ear twitched, listening in on hushed exclamations and remarks.
"Who is that?"
"Never seen the likes of her before."
"What kind of Faunus is that?"
"Is she a savage?"
"Such strange garb she has!"
"My word such revealing clothes should not be worn in public where children can see! What a corrupting beast that woman is, exposing herself like that to the world."
Ahn grit her teeth at the last remark, her eyes flashed purple and she felt her Semblance hum under her skin in anger. She turned her head slightly and looked up from where she had been watching the ground pass by as she walked. She caught the eye of the human that had made the comment, the weak spined woman looked away with a stuttered gasp and a heavy gulp. Ahn smelled fear emanating off the woman in droves. Disgusting, the Faunus thought. Why play yourself up to be better than I when you can't even look the person you made fun of in the eye? Typical human...
She counted in her head, calming and soothing her boiling anger and frustration. No, not all humans, she reminded herself, knowing that prejudice went both ways, and as her mother said she had to show she was the bigger man.
"Why's that Faunus dress so weird mommy?"
"That's just how they are dear, now hurry up, we have a train to catch!"
Ahn groaned inwardly at that. Not all, but definitely most humans, she affirmed to herself.
