He is able to analyze any situation with an extreme precision to see details that other may miss and also use this to figure out things about people that they keep as secrets. He can tell if someone lies, is afraid has feeling for others, etc... All that just by looking at them. Also, Coal will be an ass, he will probably be the most hated teacher of all Syne and he knows it and won't change his attitude because that's what the children will need. Someone to piss them enough so they'll do their best to get out of Syne the sooner they can, hopefully after graduation. That said, Coal is arrogant, brash, macho and sometimes douchy, all the more to hate. But he's the kind of guy you love to hate.

History and Sample
- History:
- Coal was a cold-hearted person from the beginning. Never really cared for anyone in his life, not even his own parents. Never had friends either as he seemed weird for others. He seemed to have talked to himself every time like someone was there listening to him without really being there. Some people thought he had an imaginary friend while others thought that he was speaking to ghosts. All of this was nonsense as Coal spent his time talking to himself about others. Not in a schizophrenic way but in an analytic way. He was observing others, the way they speak, they walk they look. He was noticing those kind of things, the details no one cared about. This led to the change in Coal's life.
One day, while Coal was 10 years old, there was a murder near his house, a faunus who was seemingly attacked in his own house by a group of humans. His best friend was with him when the attack occurred. Human hair were found and suspects were arrested. A week later, Coal went inside the house because something seemed of to him in the way the victim's best friend acted the day of the murder and the infos didn't add up. How come both would have been attacked without him being gravely injured and without wounding one of the attacker. Looked around the apartment and sought everything that the cops could have missed. Coal ended up founding that the victim was attacked by his own best friend and that the humans were victims of a hateful setup. Discovering the truth about that crime gave Coal the ambition to become a detective.
The next years, Coal worked his way as a detective at the age of 17. Hated by most out of jealousy, he was praised by his mentor and partner John Blacktorn. They worked together for years solving crimes that were committed by both humans and faunus alike as they weren't concerned by all the hate the two races had toward each other. They even dealt with Grimm at some point as "A crime is a crime whoever or whatever committed it" like John always said. But the day of peaceful crime solving were about to change as John died during a raid that didn't go as planned. As Coal had lost the only person he had respect for, he slowly fell into a depression. Being unable to solve crime with John anymore Coal decided to change path in his career and went to crime solving to crime teaching. Coal became an instructor at Atlas' Police Academy at the age of 23 before leaving after 3 years of teaching.
Coal decided to return to crime solving by becoming a Private Investigator working along the police. His help was well received but not his attitude as the death of John change him to be bitter and and selfish. His fame grew for those who would interest themselves in anything police-related as one day Coal was assign a partner by the Atlas Police Department to form the new guy like him: a brilliant Detective. Mark, Coal's partner was a fan of his. He had follow his track record to know everything about him. He even knew about the murder that he had solve as a kid. Coal didn't know what to think of that admiration and just didn't care. But if he'd knew, everything would have been different. The fate of Coal would change on his 29th birthday.
As Coal set foot into the Police Office like every morning, he walked in a bloody massacre. Everyone was slain, violently murdered. He looked around to see that no one was alive, all the security system were disabled. He walked toward the Captain's office and saw Mark, siting there like nothing happened with a grin on his face. Coal looked on the table and saw his gun on the table, the barrel still smoking, and a bloodied knife. Coal grabbed his gun and instinctively shot Mark in the head, as he didn't want to know any of the reason he had done this. An envelope was on the desk with Coal's name on it. He opened it and read a letter that said that Coal was the murderer. It was clearly Mark wrote this letter, but he had copied his writing using the reports he had made. His gun was used, so the bullets could be traced. Mark most have wore glove and disposed of them so that only Coal's fingerprints could be found on the gun. No witnesses as he was the only survivor. The security system, being deactivated couldn't prove that Coal haven't done it. Everything pointed at him. He gathered all the evidence he could have get and kept them for himself. So he fled, it was the only way he could pay enough time to prove his innocence.
Coal change his first name and went to the city of Bellmuse to hide, no way he would have stayed in Atlas after this. He also applied to work as a teacher in the Huntsman Academy of Syne to provide him with a job and a cover, keeping the truth to himself about his past. He'll do everything to keep everyone away from him, even if it means being more hated that he already is.

- It was a dark, raining night. Everything was gloom with the dim lights outside in the streets of the city. The driver was questioning Coal, like any driver would do, but in vain as he wasn't even listening to the man. Bellmuse was calm and silent, way too calm with so few people outside even for a raining night like this one. Coal looked at a copy of the application he had made for Syne as a teacher while the driver was making a turn outside town and thought that "Professor Coal" would made a change of the "Inspector Coal" he had grow accustomed to hear. The whippers of the car were throwing the water away endlessly as the rain wouldn't stop pouring over the whole sector. The number of lights was decreasing as the car drove closer and closer toward the Academy. The driver stopped at the gate before looking back at Coal asking if he was coming back or if he'd stay at the school has Coal never answered any of his question. The only response Coal gave him was: "Like I care, go crash yourself somewhere I can't see you, don't hope I'll be there to save you..." He walked got out of the car and walked toward the building without looking back at the other man. He stepped inside and disappeared in the shadows of the door.
