Likes:
- Parker has a fondness for the Occult he studies it often, but doesn't let that get in the way of his physical strength, which he takes pride in.
- Parker enjoys spending time with his liquor, he drinks often, some call it unhealthy, he just calls it a "natural thing for someone his age"
- Parker still enjoys the hunt, he is intrigued by the creatures of Grimm, and has no qualms about going out and studying.
Dislikes:
- Parker dislikes those who mistake him as some sort of lunatic. He has his own theories about this world, and it isn't his fault that others are too blind to see it.
- Parker dislikes the more complacent teachers that do nothing but sit around. Just because you are a teacher now, doesn't mean that you can't get your feet wet and hunt the Grimm.
- People that try to push his sobriety. Parker has seen some stuff, and some things, neither of which he would recommend, if he wants a scotch, he can have a scotch.
Fears:
- Chaotic forces that are out of his control. As much as they intrigue him, they also terrify him.
- Falling to insanity. People mistake him as some sort of lunatic, even though a lot of what he says can be proven, he just hasn't found a way to yet. And he hopes that nobody gives him a nice hugging jacket before he gets the chance to do so.
- As much of a hardhead as he can be, Parker is very passionate towards his students, thus the idea of any of them falling to a creature of Grimm terrifies him greatly. He often wakes up in a cold sweat over this concept.
Overall Personality: Personality? What is a personality but a preconceived jumble of character traits and tropes from which complete strangers can judge you. These kind of things always get complicated. Parker's narrative is not one that is pleasant, he doesn't have happy memories to draw from, or some sort of nobility that makes him admirable. In most cases Parker is just remarkably, unremarkable, and that is exactly how he presents himself. Parker is quiet, he keeps to himself and his studies, that is until he finds someone who shares the common interests. In that instance Parker will go off for hours, just explaining his theories, and discussing various aspects of the occult. Parker may not look it, but he is very strong, and in reality, that's just how he likes it, no fluff, just a simple presentation of himself that is easily palatable for others. In other words he's a blank slate absorbing new information and presenting himself accordingly. But on the inside he is a burgeoning torrent of emotion whipping all around. Most of it being excitement, but traces of anger and fear remain prevalent, with an ever so slight amount of compassion, that only comes out to certain people.

History and Sample
- History:
- What would you say if I were to take you on a journey? Not one that is fantastic in nature, one that would fill you with wonder and awe. Not one that would inspire you to be greater than you are, or to tackle challenges one would not normally face. No this journey is different, more severe. This journey will take you to the recesses of a mind that you would once consider poisoned, or useless, and see the truths locked behind the bloodshot eyes of a proclaimed lunatic. The story of Parker Dunwich is not one that you will enjoy, no, it is far too dark for that. The story of Parker is about a man who looks into himself and looks into the mysteries of the world and finds the one thing that should never be found, the type of thing that sticks with a person. This story begins when Parker was a mere 15 years old.
Parker lived with his father, mother, and three sisters. His mother was a hunter, as were his sisters, but his father was different. Parker's father was an academic, he loved to study, to find himself in the past dictated by a book, to discover new things in the dusty pages of an old volume of some ancient encyclopedia. The information was readily available in digital format, but his father never really became accustomed to that. He preferred to push his nose into the musty smelling pages of a book, and read it's ink stained contents. This was the knowledge reception method that he preferred, so naturally, Parker did as well. His father taught him all sorts of things. He taught him the truth behind the multitude of books in the family's extensive library.
However the pursuit of knowledge didn't keep Parker from other things. Whilst studying he was also training. He wanted to be a hunter, but he would rather have his body in peak physical condition before anything like that was attempted. Everyone had their weapon of choice, but Parker preferred Tonfas. They fit his hands and arms so perfectly, and flowed with his strikes like a natural extension of his limbs, he could see himself hunting with weapons like these. The training and studying flew by, and by the next year, Parker was off to a Hunter academy to learn the ropes. The night before his departure, Parker was presented with a box. When he opened it he found a pair of very new, very functional Tonfas with a heavy steel striking surface. These would be the weapons he brandished in combat.
While at the academy, Parker would often receive care packages from his father that would contain books for him to reed. He absolutely enjoyed every read, the books filling him with joy when he read. The years passed and Parker became stronger, his physical strength rivaling most, and his knowledge rivaling many more. He graduated with honors and a variety of different hunts under his belt. It was his turn to keep the peace in this land. It was time for Parker to return to his home.
When he arrived at the doors to his family's home he noticed something strange, the door was wide open. He stepped through the threshold, and smelled the strange scent of... nothing, there was nothing. He looked in the rooms, nothing it was as if the house was left in a stasis. The only room he hadn't checked was his father's library. The second he walked through the door he noticed the mountains of books, torn from the shelf violently, and littering the floor. The walls were covered in scratches, but they didn't seem to be from a Grimm, they were too small. Upon closer inspection Parker noticed the small traces of blood an skin particles in the damaged wood of the walls.
The scratches were in the shape of strange symbols, ones that seemed almost runic in nature. Parker had a strange feeling about them, as if staring at them too long would cause him to lose his mind. So he kept looking. He found one of the shelves in his father's study slightly pulled from the wall. Upon moving closer to it he noticed the door behind it. Curious and clutching his tonfas with intent to defend he ventured forth into the room. What awaited him was surprising considering the state of the rest of the room. A lone desk surrounded by books neatly placed on the shelf awaited him.
Wiping the dust away from the chair he sat down and noticed a singular book sitting in the center of the desk. In large eerie typeface on a old leather bound book with what looked like an eye staring directly into his soul was the title. Mysteries of the Occult. This was strange to him, he wasn't aware that his father was interested in this kind of thing. The occult, he had heard things about it, such as many people connect the Grimm to the occult. Curiosity getting the better of him, Parker began to read.
Hours and hours passed as Parker scrolled through the pages of the dusty old tome. It seemed like a short amount of time for a book, and Parker was very impressed with his reading speed. He noticed the rumbling in his stomach, and set out to search for food. He noticed the power was still connected in the house and checked the icebox. There was still ample supplies, almost like his family left recently, which didn't quite add up to the disarray of the home. Regardless he found his food, and went back to the study. Months passed and Parker remained engrossed with the books on the occult in the secret library. He read, and read, absorbing more and more information.
One thing in those books caught his eye, it was a summoning ritual to bring forth one of the predecessors of this world. He set forth on a journey to gather the supplies. Time passed and Parker had spent the last 4 years of his life gathering the necessary supplies to perform the ritual. However what he didn't expect, was that the thing he was skeptical about, the ritual he set forth to try in theory, was very much functional. The things he saw that night are too terrible, too grotesque to put into words, that even the thought of them set me ablaze with the fires of fear. Whatever, whomever he saw in that strange light that emanated, broke him.
Parker's head was filled with the type of knowledge that scholars could only dream of, but he was much to terrified to continue down the road he began with that little ritual. He decided to go to a university to become a teacher. At least something could come of the terror he saw. 7 years, 7 years he spent getting his schooling. It was a journey, but one that he didn't regret as he stood with his diploma, a seemingly happy, but secretly broken man. When the time came to search for a position, Parker chose the newly opened Syne academy, and applied to work there as a teacher of the Occult and it's connection to the Grimm.
- RP Sample:
- The night is very dark, and contains the deepest form of a nightmarish landscape. At least that's what Parker always thought. However he could always see the beauty in those stars, at least when he wasn't thinking about the grotesque, nightmarish creatures that lurked among them. Grimm were not the scariest thing to inhabit this universe. He loved nights like these though, when it could just be quiet and his mind could be occupied with absolute nothingness, it was relaxing to be able to sit with his bottle of scotch and the cold night air. A faunus pulls up some grass next to him and lays down. It was a student of his, one he was teaching about different things, and one who expressed interest in various aspects of the occult. For some reason even though it scarred him so, he is interested in sharing with others.
"Isn't it cold up here, even if you have that fur on your body Saru?"
"Just because I'm a faunus huh? Funny joke teach." The boy said laughing.
Parker couldn't help but think about how interesting Saru was as a student. Not only was he overcoming diversity in the school, but he was able to deal with a nutty professor like him. The night breeze caused the various flora in the area to sway, and the leaves in the trees to break and float away. The student and teacher spent the rest of the night discussing various things, until the time was up and they went their separate ways. As much as he is traumatized by his mistakes and the aspects of the occult that he keeps hidden, the idea of connecting with another person is satisfying. At least he knows he is still capable of that.
