Fears: Enclosed and dark spaces (it MUST be enclosed and dark. Dark open spaces are liked, and Hazel does not mind enclosed spaces.), Separation from friends and family, that she will never amount to anything or make up for anything she may do wrong.
Talent: Acting/Persuasion
Weakness: Organization
Overall Personality: Hazel Illura is somebody who doesn’t care what you think about them; she’s not afraid to stand up and be who she is, even if that is a crossdressing faunus. She is not afraid to be herself-- or someone else, if the need or desire arises. She enjoys pulling little harmless jokes on those around her (although ‘harmless’ is loosely defined here. If they’re not physically or obviously mentally/emotionally hurt, then Hazel’s not gonna follow up). There’s also no stopping Hazel when she has her mind set on something. The only thing that can stop her is if she grows too tired of it; admittedly, her ADHD does tend to lead to this on minor issues. Hazel is a born actor, able to take on nigh any role perfectly-- or as perfectly as the situation allows. She’s learned to suppress her ADHD and anxiety issues, so they largely present no problem. She prefers enjoying herself to perfection, even if her very small bit of the-pattern-broke-I-must-fix-it OCD occasionally counteracts that. Even with that, her organizational skills are a mess and she constantly ends up forgetting times and dates of deadlines.
Overall, Hazel is an optimistic, happy-go-lucky fox Faunus who don’t give a single dang.
Abilities
Aura type: Recovery
Aura Color: Black with a red sheen (It’s basically the darkest red can go before it’s black)
Semblance: Illusion: Hazel can adopt the general appearance of any human she has seen before (albeit a couple proportional issues). It does become hard to maintain after a long time, and it immediately dissipates after she is hit once; until her HP is fully recovered, then she cannot use it again. It is also difficult to use in combat, although it is possible. (Follows the rules described under the restrictions on Illusion semblances.)
Item 1: Dual fighting fans. (Midnight Breeze and Dusk Gale). Very similar to Japanese tessen war fans-- a folding fan with spokes made of hard metal, used for attacking and deflecting projectiles. She does not use them for throwing. (Rating 1)
Item 2: Armor (Rating 1); lightweight barrier-based armor on Hazel’s upper body. It’s dark gray and worn under Hazel’s clothing; it only protects the chest, abdomen, and back.
History and Sample
- History:
- Hazel was raised in as a hunter’s child. Her father was a huntsman and her mother a huntress. They would often be out on missions in order to get income for the family, and were not home all the time. Hazel grew up as an only child, not interacting with much of anybody. She had very few encounters with the world outside. Years passed and Hazel had not felt like he was how he should be. He finally was meeting other people, and one person who made a large impact on his life was an older man who had once been a woman. This gave Hazel insight into something he was missing in himself and led to him eventually deciding he would no longer be seen as male. The day she decided-- around the age of 14, while she was still in her first school-- her parents never returned from their mission. She grieved, wishing she could know what happened. She spent a year of her life trying to find out anything she could, but unfortunately nobody could tell her anything but that her parents had gone on a dangerous mission and not come back. Eventually, she decided to move on in life, and moved to start her life anew, as a young girl coming up in the world. Her time spent training as a small child was not wasted, as she continued to study more about Grimm and how to defeat them. She created her weapons, Midnight Breeze and Dusk Gale, as well as her light armor, as she continued to take in all the information about Grimm hunting she could access. She enrolled at Syne in order to uphold her parent’s memory. She still hopes she will one day find out what happened, but she doesn’t let that get in the way of her having fun.
- RP Sample:
- Hazel froze, looking at the body in front of her. Oh no… did I…? She started to shake and looked up at (other), a wild panic in her eyes. ”I… I didn’t mean… there wasn’t….” She trailed off. Not waiting for any response, she looked back down at the man she had just hurt. ”Is he… did I…” She hesitated, then asked, “Did I kill him, (other)?” She looked back up, a mix of fear, uncertainty and hope in her eyes. ”He… he could’ve survived that, right?” (Response, confirming death) Hazel’s eyes grew wide, her pupils contracting rapidly. She fell to the ground, her weight resting on her knees, legs just beside her. ”No… no… no….” she started to repeat the word, denying what she had certainly just done. “No, no, no, no!” She got up, tears streaming from her face. ”I didn’t mean… I…” she began to back away, her face full of regret, tears, and sorrow.
