| Kei took up a random job listing from the Academy calling for the elimination for a fairly low level Grimm. Truth was, even though Kei had fought plenty of times before, he was actually nervous taking up job listing. Even though it was supposed to be fairly easy, he has never actually fought a Grimm before. All of his fights of the past have been of fighting humans rather than monsters. Though Kei hadn't actually fought a Grimm before, he had the feeling that the experience would be much different from fighting a human. Even so, Kei had eventually decided that the best way to learn how to fight Grimm, was to actually fight one. That being said, Kei made his way from the academy to edge of the Finnek Forest. According to the listing, Kei would find his target there. Kei took a deep breath to calm himself, then began to explore Forest. |

Boarbatusk
ONE BOARBATUSK | 100 HP | HUNT LEVEL: EASY | GRIMM LEVEL: 2
It had been a rather peaceful, yet dull day for this Boarbatusk: he had not come into contact with literally any living being this day, and while that meant that he was out of conflict and therefore safe...it meant he was out of conflict, and Grimm loved to cause mayhem, especially for humans and those weird part-human part-animal ones. It was so fun to watch them suffer, to see their faces covered in agony, and then to ultimately see them die once all there blood gushed out...
Yes, this Boarbatusk was begging for some action, and just as if it was destiny...he sensed something. Off a little in the distance, he could sense the worry and doubt of someone, and who was the most likely to worry or doubt? Humans, of course, plaguing themselves with so many little things that didn't matter at all in the grand scheme of things. This Boarbatusk was just about ready to gut this little worrywart, and just to make sure, he ground his tusks against a nearby tree to make sure they were extra sharp before he journeyed forth in the direction of the worrywart.
Crossing through tall grass and brush, the negative emotions of self-doubt and wallowing were getting stronger and stronger until he made a brief glimpse through the brush and saw some man with a scarf exploring the forest, and he was definitely the root of the doubt. This Boarbatusk braced itself, stomped on the ground twice, then snorted and charged out of the brush at top speed. He was aiming at the man's abdomen, more towards the side, in an effort to just rip off half of his middle.

Kei
| Years of combat have keened Kei's senses. He heard sudden rustling to his right and quickly bolted his head in that direction. Out of the bushes, he saw a boarbatusk charging in his direction. It was moving fast in Kei's direction. Left, right, cover, above, block, Kei immediately calculated these counters he had to this charging Grimm. Kei grabbed the end of one of the weighted wires that his belt contained and threw the end of it at a tree branch that lie directly above and the wire quickly wrapped around it.. Then in a split second, the wire propelled him up 10 meters, evading the boarbatusk. Then, as he reached the tree branch, the wire came undone. Kei didn't allow himself to fall however, as he kicked off of the bottom of the tree branch and instead, launched himself and the boarbatusk, punching it square in the head. Kei then leaped back a bit, placing himself 20 feet from the Grimm. "Damn," Kei muttered as he looked at his hand. It stung a bit. The Boarbatusk was well armored all over the body and the truth was, Kei had no idea how he should get around it. Kei didn't have any sort of weapon on him, much less something that can pierce the Boarbatusk's armory hide. Right now, Kei figured his only way to fight this beast was using his electric semblance. Kei then raised his fists. He'll figure something out... |

Boarbatusk
ONE BOARBATUSK | 95 HP | HUNT LEVEL: EASY | GRIMM LEVEL: 2
As this Boarbatusk had hoped, the human wasn't going to be an easy kill, which was okay because easy kills weren't nearly as enjoyable. As he was charging at the human, it took off into the sky after throwing something in the air, but this Boarbatusk knew from previous encounters that humans cannot fly and will eventually fall.
This Boarbatusk let his weight drag which slowed him to a halt and prevented him from bashing into the tree, and he looked up just in time to find the human falling down towards him and having it's fist about to meet the thick armor of his faceplate. This Boarbatusk tilted it's head slightly so that the attack would glance off of him, for he knew many a Grimm who thought their defenses impenetrable only to have their faces caved in, and he knew not the strength of his opponent. He then attempted a swipe with his tusks in response, but the human was agile and quickly made distance between them.
After locking onto the humans position and letting out a deep grunt, this Boarbatusk hunkered down and prepared to rush at the human again. He then pushed off with all his weight and barreled at the human at full speed until he was about five feet away from it, at which he leaned slightly to the left and dropped his weight again, which caused him to drift to the left. This positioned him right behind a nearby tree, and this Boarbatusk used his hind legs to push off and gain close to full momentum again: he had performed a juke, and was now coming at the human from the left side, lowering his head to be able to lift it and thrust his tusks up into the abdomen of the human.

| Kei was watching the Boarbatusk, he needed someway to hurt it. The thing was too armored for him to simply fight it using his fists. Punches and kicks would get him no where. He had his semblance, but he wasn't entirely sure how effective it would be on a Grimm... Boarbatusk began to charge again and caught Kei completely off guard as he was getting distracted in how to fight the Grimm and not actually thinking about the fight in the moment. Crap! Kei thought as he began into a position to counter the boarbatusk. All of sudden, the boarbatusk juked left, propelling left. Kei wasn't expecting this at all. Up until this point, Kei figured most Grimm as mindless monsters, with no fighting strategies outside of instinct. No time to dodge and hardly any to react, all Kei could do was brace himself for the attack. The Boarbatusks horn connected with his stomach, but Kei's Kevlar lined trench coat prevented the attack from piercing him. The coat did nothing however in absorbing the force of the attack, and Kei ended up taking the full impact of the attack. Kei completely pushed aside his injuries from the attack. Such thoughts were unnecessary at the moment, needless. They would only distract him. As if through instinct, Kei immediately reached out to the skull of the Boarbatusk upon taking the attack. The moment his hand touched the armor of the Boarbatusk, Kei used his semblance to send a powerful burst of electricity through his hand into the Boarbatusk. Kei knew bone was conductor of electricity and that the armor that protected this Grimm would be a similar material to bone. It would do nothing to protect it from Electricity. |

Boarbatusk
ONE BOARBATUSK | 75 HP | HUNT LEVEL: EASY | GRIMM LEVEL: 2
This Boaratusk took great pride that his natural instinct and small amount of combat experience aided him in landing a blow on the worrywart. However, whatever the simple human was wearing seemed to prevent him from ripping apart his flesh, which was mildly aggravating, as he wanted to see the red fluid spill out from the human and drown the forest floor below. The human once again attempted to attack his armored face plate, and this Boarbatusk was so puzzled on how stupid this human was that he kind of just stood there and decided to take the blow...and that's when things turned very VERY sour.
Upon contact with his faceplate, this Boarbatusk felt sudden sharp pain flood through his entire body, but he couldn't move himself away from the human either as his body would not listen to him. The mere seconds felt like hours of agony and torture, and after struggling it use his body this Boarbatusk eventually managed to pry free and and stumble backward from his human opponent, placing himself about three feet away. This Boarbatusk was having problems focusing his sight on the human now, but he could partially make out the outline of him. In order to give himself more time to recuperate, this Boarbatusk used his tusks as a shovel or scooping tool of sorts, and picked up a rather big rock that would probably weigh ten pounds. This Boarbatusk then flung it at the human, whipping his head sideway to ensure that it traveled in a straight line rather than in a falling arc, thereby covering more ground and being a bit more difficult to evade at that speed.
This Boarbatusk then just stood there, shaking his head back and forth as he attempted to clear the stars from his eyesight.
(I whip my tusks back and forth, I whip my tusks back and forth! XD)

Kei
| Being as close as he had gotten to the Boarbatusk, Kei took noticed in the armor that protected the monster. There were chinks in it, an attack directed at one of these spots would directly reach the unprotected flesh of the Boarbatusk. Before Kei could do anything else, the Boarbatusk stumbled backwards about a meter. Interestingly, as the Boarbatusk did, it lowered it's tusk scooping up a decently sized rock and propelled it at Kei. If Kei were not in a fight like he was now, Kei would have been surprised at such an action. He always assumed Grimm were just the same as vicious beasts. Using a rock like a weapon like the Grimm just had down would signify some sort of knowledge, something a normal 'beast' wouldn't have. But Kei was in a fight and his focus was intense. He left out unnecessary thoughts, such things would only get in the way. He saw the rock coming as a projectile weapon as the Boarbatusk began to only scoop it up. Despite foreshadowing the incoming projectile, that did nothing change the distance from at which the Boarbatusk was away from Kei. The Grimm was within a single leap away from the human, a projectile flying as fast as the rock was would be unheard of for the average human to dodge. Kei however, wasn't the average human. His aura was that of speed. On top of that, he had strong synergy with his aura and semblance. His aura would grant him immense speed for brief moments, a way to increase his physical limits for a moment. A blue outline surrounded Kei's body as his aura began to activate for a brief moment. Kei dropped his body to the left diagonally, safely out of the path of the hurling rock with such speed that made it seemed as though the earth had suddenly pulled Kei towards it. The rock barely passed by Kei's right ear as Kei suddenly pushed off of the ground forward, leaping in the direction of the boarbatusk. Kei immediately closed the distance between the two, but actually ended up on the left side of the Boarbatusk rather then directly in front of it. The blue outline began to fade away around Kei save for his left hand, which began to radiate a stronger glow of blue. This blue glow around his left hand was actually his semblance as Kei began to charge up electricity in his hand. Kei kept his hand in a open but pointed palm, swinging his entire body around until his hand was stabbing towards the boarbatusk. Kei was aiming for a chink in the Grimm's armor that he had spotted before. It was where the outer bone-like helmet ended, just behind the jawline of the Grimm. Blue sparks danced across Kei's open hand as it flew closer and closer with dangerous speeds to the Boarbatusk's bare hide. A basic barehanded attack like this would do little to nothing may it be against armor or no armor, but the added electricity would increase the barehanded attacks penetrative power, making it more effective. |

Boarbatusk
ONE BOARBATUSK | 35 HP | HUNT LEVEL: EASY | GRIMM LEVEL: 2
After shaking his head for awhile, this Boarbatusk noticed that the human had disappeared from view. This Boarbatusk looked first left, then right, then up...but there was no pathetic human to be found. This Boarbatusk still sensed the human however, and did not figure he'd be the kind to run away from a battle...and unfortunately, he was right. Suddenly, the human appeared to the side of him, and before this Boarbatusk could respond he whirled around and struck him right between the very minute gap in his natural armor. It sliced right in and dug into this Boarbatusk. This Boarbatusk felt the agonizing prickles and pain again, and he knew there was no way he could let that happen again, but there was also no way he could back away and go for a counter attack. This Boarbatusk had to go all out, as it was now or never.
After a brief moment or so of being unable to move, this Boarbatusk not only got back up and standing, but also let out a VERY loud whine. Then, he forced himself to pop up, and he made a very small air somersault. Once this Boarbatusk began to land, he was spinning full force, and quickly shot forward at full speed towards the human.
Should the human not respond quick enough, he could easily have lost his hand, but this Boarbatusk knew this human seemed to be rather quick. However, dodging an attack like this at such a close range...now that would be a feat indeed.

Kei
| Kei could feel his attacks land and knew that the Boarbatusk was definitely taking some hard hits from Kei's attack. Even so, Kei didn't carried away with this success and remained focus on the fight. He had seen too many people lose a fight because they had gotten carried away with a large advantage on a foe. The Boarbatusk managed to get back on its feet and let out a desperate cry, one that a cornered animal would give off. Kei quickly backed off, knowing that most animals in these situations attacked carelessly, but also viciously. Taking an attack like this would be dangerous, but could easily be avoided if one knew it was coming. Kei knew his instincts didn't fail him as the Boarbatusk suddenly popped up into the air and began spinning itself quickly in a top to bottom style direction, very similar to that of a buzzsaw. There was no doubt that impact against the Grimm in that state would easily shred flesh. Kei began to move around the side of the Grimm before it hit the ground. Standing in its path would be fatal. At the same time as Kei moved around the Grimm, Kei's left hand reached down to on of the coils of weighted wire that was on his belt. He intended to finish this as well. As the Grimm would land on the ground, Kei would be standing on the side of it out of it's original path. Kei was hoping that spinning at speeds would make it difficult for the Boarbatusk to not only change directions, but also make it difficult to keep sight on Kei. Ultimately though, Kei knew it was a gamble. As the Boarbatusk began to make contact with the ground, Kei had launched one of his weighted wires at the Grimm, intending to have it catch around the Grimm. Kei braced himself, knowing that there would be a strong pull as the Grimm began moving. Depending on where the wire caught the Grimm, it was possible for the thin steel wire to heavily damage the Grimm because of the force that was being placed on it. On top of that, Kei charged his and electricity coursed through his body. Electricity was transferred into the highly conductive steel wire and blue sparks danced among it directly into the Boarbatusk should the wire catch it. |

Boarbatusk
ONE BOARBATUSK | -15 HP | HUNT LEVEL: EASY | GRIMM LEVEL: 2
This Boarbatusk had maybe made a mistake in pursuing this human, but it was more than too late for that. This Boarbatusk had intended to not only possible rip off the human's hand (or even his entire arm for that matter), but he had also intended to flatten him into a human pancake. However, the human read this Boarbatusk's movements, much as he had the entire time, and responded accordingly.
There was no way this Boarbatusk could change his direction, they only way to go was straight ahead. This Boarbatusk did just that, unaware of the heavy coil the human had attempted to catch him in...and was not only successful, but was fortunate as well: due to the nature of this spinning attack, the coil manage to snag the Boarbatusk in the spot that the human just previously stuck, getting a great grip into the hide of him. As this Boarbatusk flew forward with his spinning attack, the coil didn't move, and the result was quite unpleasant as it ripped through his hide and all the way through his body at an angle.
Both halves of this Boarbatusk fell to the ground, the lower half containing the majority of his face landed in a manner that he could see the human one last time. His red eyes glared at him as this Boarbatusk's vision and conscious faded away.
This Boarbatusk was rather disappointed: he really wanted to spill his guts everywhere, but alas he was outclassed in nearly every way. This Boarbatusk decided that overall, this was fine, as eventually one of his brethren would catch up with this human and fulfill what he could not.
This Boarbatusk was satisfied with this realization, and with one last grunt, he let it all go.
Despite the nature of the Grimm, when they turned into the black mist and disperse into nothingness, one cannot help but feel a mixture of satisfaction and hope being slowly doused by mystery and uncertainty.

Kei
| As the fight had finished, Kei's adrenaline began to drop. It was then that he had began to realize how out of breath he was. He sat down on the spot in order to catch his breath again. "Damn..." Kei muttered to himself while looking up, winded, "I can't get this tired after every fight if I hope to continue winning." It was true. Kei had simply felt that this time around, he had simply used up too much energy over a simple Grimm. He would need to learn better techniques, learn how they fight, learn how to defeat Grimm with minimal effort. It was one thing to fight humans, but fighting Grimm was a completely different skill. Kei stood up after he finished catching his breath and brushed himself off. This is good enough for now I guess. I still have plenty of time in the future to learn the art of hunting. Satisfied for now, Kei began to leave the forest, heading back to Syne Academy. -end- |
