Rojo Fuego is a man best described as that of a roaring fire; hard to control, aggressive, and highly destructive if left to rage. However, much like that same fire, he is also warm, comforting, and quick to cool (as long as no other fuel is added to the flame). Born a poor child, Rojo has a few resentments towards the rich, and those unwilling to share with others in need. As such, he has an inate want to assist those in poorer standing, going to lengths such as sheltering and feeding broke or homeless people. He also has a small soft spot for stray cats, caring for them as well as his usual patrons.
Abilities
Aura type: Spirit
Aura Color: Crimson
Semblance: Typhokinesis, Smoke Manipulation. This Semblance is a rather Utility based one, relying on blinding and disorienting opponents rather than directly harming them. While Rojo cannot conjure up smoke, any source of it can be useful. The Semblance is also limited by how much smoke there is available. To compensate for this, Rojo carries around a lighter and cigarettes, as well as using his red Dust to set objects ablaze.
Item 1: "Queztalcoatl", or the Ballistic Offensive Broad Sword (BOBS). Its main form is a bulky and loud red Dust powered shotgun designed to be compact and easier to store, leaving it with an unpleasant looking boxy design. Its secondary form is that of a large broadsword, the blade of which extends and retracts from the barrel of the gun form. Rating 1.
Item 2: 2 vials of Rating 1 red Fire Dust
History and Sample
- History:
- Rojo Fuego was born a poor child to parents Azula Sangre and Ignacio Fuego. At the age of 3 years old, his parents divorced due to differences in parenting as well as Ignacio’s refusal to give up his gambling addictions to help the family. Azula would end up taking custody over Rojo while his father vanished, completely leaving the picture. For 4 more grueling years, Azula and Rojo struggled together until she sadly passed away from malnutrition, giving all she could to ensure her son was fed and happy.
Engulfed with sorrow, young Rojo ran out into the streets in search of a place of solitude, anywhere that could take him away from the nightmare he thought would never end. Eventually his little legs gave way to exhaustion, and his lungs ached for rest. And so he laid to rest right where he stood, at the foot of an aged and surly old man. This man was Max St. Simon, owner of a small Dust store about a half mile from where Rojo lived, and he had been making his evening stroll when a small redheaded child came running down the street, crying for his mother before collapsing at his feet. Compelled by the sight of this boy, Max carried him all the way back to his store where he cared for him for 10 years, teaching him all he could about his trade and hoping that one day the boy would end up being his successor. And while Max was still a sullen codger of a man, with Rojo he made great efforts to be kind and over time grew fond of him, looking at his as a son of his own. Rojo meanwhile felt as though the old merchant was as close a father figure he was going to get, and embraced him with an open heart.
At age 17, tragedy once again struck as a roving pack of Beowulf Grimm came roaring down the streets, unwittingly rampaging through Max’s store. Rojo had only caught the tail end of the incident as he returned home from school, only to see his foster father’s store, his home, in splinters with his beloved Max nowhere to be seen. That day, two primal emotions welled up from deep within him, two emotions he had no need for until now: anger and hatred. From then on Rojo knew what he wanted to do. He vowed to take up blade and gun to take down the Grimm, to protect those too weak to defend themselves, and to ensure nothing like this ever happened again.
- RP Sample:
- “Alright tough guy, it’s just the next step. Can’t be any worse than Signal right?”
Rojo continued to run this through his mind a dozen times over as he stood at the platform, awaiting airship pick up with his fellow training graduates. While he had never had issues with school or people beforehand, Rojo felt nervous. Standing here waiting to make the biggest step towards becoming a Hunter, he felt a sense of finality and unease creep up his spine. True, this is what he had wanted ever since…yeah, that...but now he felt so many questions seep into his brain: “What if I’m not good enough?”, “What if I get expelled for something?”, “What if I’m not strong enough?” A high and piercing whistle went through the air as every student exclaimed in excitement as the massive airship came gliding in, docking close to the platform. The entry hatch popped open with a cheery looking guide calling out to the crowd.
“All aboard for Syne Academy!”
As the flood of people rushed past him, Rojo drew in a deep breath and sighed.
“Now…or never.”
And with that he took his first steps toward his fate.
