His friends and family being hurt; which is why he doesn’t have many.
His masters; scariest people on earth.
Overall Personality: He is a very… interesting fellow. You could even call him floaty; as he rarely likes to pay any attention. If it’s important; yes he will; but other then that he will go about looking about things that interest him. It’s really his flaw; he lacks the ability to keep his focus when he doesn’t want to. This is the reason why he went to the school; you know. To gain that ability.
Although, other then that fact; he’s seemingly dedicated to the art; which isn’t wrong. He’s extremely dedicated to the art. He’s also dedicated to finding very strong people and learning from them; as long as he doesn’t die first. Of course, he won’t let himself die very easy; as there was a few not-so-kind words from one of his masters.
“YOU WILL NOT DIE. YOU WILL SURVIVE ANYTHING THROWN AT YOU OR I WILL DRAG YOU OUT OF HELL ITSELF.” That master wasn’t very nice, but he did teach him many things.
The main thing though; is that he idolizes birds. He wishes he could fly endlessly like them. If he reaches this, he feels like he will have reached the level of the best; which he otherwise strives for.

History and Sample
- History:
- Born and left at a temple, he was raised by a select few people; those who raised him are as followed;
First was the master of Judo, a very large man. His name was Kyle. He was a fairly violent man who didn’t join it for sport, he joined it to enact various scenes of violence. he was also very mean to short people. He was an okay guy otherwise.
Next was the man who trained him to be durable; that mans name? Uriel; unlike the others, this man had a presence about him. That very same presence made him scary to be around; he was the head of the temple; he was a very religious man.
Next in line is Iblis; the brother to Uriel, who was a fanus. He had wings, he could fly. He was the inspiration to Soyata. The man who did not fear Uriel, the man who would not fear Uriel; this is the man Soyata dedicated his time there to beat. The man who could actually fly, the man who had what he wanted.
Then, there’s was the weapons master. The man he took his last name from, Soyata, except that was the mans first name. His first name was given to him by the man, and he just adopted the mans name. That’s how his name came to pass.- the naming of Soyata:
- His story starts at the age of 1, when he was offically given a name.
Kyle
Uriel
Iblis
Soyata
”We’ve kept this baby for a year, fed him, somehow managed to get him to drink out of a bottle. He’s missing something.”
“Aye, he is. Beyond missing a mother, he misses a name. What should his name be? I’m willing to vouch my first name as his last,.”
“It’s a fair last name, but what shall his first name? Really, what shall it be?”
“His name shall be Nikolaos; as his name shall my first name be his last.”
“Ah, who cares. We might as well train him from the age of 5.”
- The age of 11, the battle against each of the masters:
He was a prodigy, the masters could see that. So they devised a test. He was to fight each of them once, with Kyle being the last one to be faced.
They woke him up at 5 a.m. with a staff landing besides him. This staff didn’t land sideways, this staff was a hit purposely missed. He knew this by the echo from the staff hitting the ground. He rolled toe the side, and grabbed his staff and opened his eyes.
There stood the man who had trained him to use weapons.
“I’m not supposed to tell you, but I’m soft. Each master is going to face you in combat; and I’m the first.”
They went into combat; with the first hit being the staves hitting each other, and then after some shifting of positions, they started the actual combat which actually looked fairly amazing to an outsider; but it was going very slow. Sure, it picked up speed and involved the master actually countering and hitting Soyata by spinning his staff on his back, but that was to show the skill gap.
Thankfully, the young Soyata got in a good hit and the master ‘went down’ which is really just to say he was happy with his progress.
“Not bad, master. I guess I win this time, but try a bit harder next time, okay?”
The person that left the room beaming was a young and somewhat unhurt Soyata. Next on the line was Uriel, who stood in the hall outside of the room. The challenge, unknown to Soyata, was to get him to move. It took a ton of blows, but he finally managed, with one hell of a round house, to get him to move. He dumped his staff at that point, and went to face the winged wonder.
Iblis’ form stood still in the air as he came out of his home, and he knew what he had to do. He didn’t quite have it down, but he could use his sembalance to fly. That’s exactly what he did. He had been hiding the trick for the longest while, like 2 years.
Iblis wasn’t surprised, nay, he knew. He took the hit and pretended to fall down before coming back up and upper-cutting the boy. He smiled and let him pass for being able to fly.
Then the large mass the was Kyle faced him in the open on the ground. He was thrown multiple times before he managed to counter Kyle and put him in a guillotine, and Kyle wasn’t going to destroy his accomplice to get him off. He won that day.
- His first fight to the death:
He stood across from a man, the man has spiky hair and long limbs. This didn’t bother Soyata; the reach advantage didn’t bother him. The only thing that bothered him, as much attention as he was forcing himself to pay, was that the man had an intent to hurt and kill. Soyata had to match that.
He did. He glared at the man and took a defencive stance, and once the bell rung, the tall man rushed him, but was met with a defence that he was unable to break. This was because the work that Soyata put in? He faced people stronger than this man, he faced people who wanted him dead. This man wasn’t as big as Kyle or as fast as the weapons master of which he got his name. Hell, the man had a glaring weakness. He under-estimated him.
Paying next to no attention, after the tall man went in for a jab which Soyata ducked under, Soyata nailed the main in the ribs with an attack that was supposed to be with the fist, but ended up hitting with the wrist. This brought laughter out of Soyata, and he spun out of the range of the man.
“You aren’t trying very hard, are you? Come on, try harder or else this won’t be any fun for me!”
This enraged the man who he was fighting; and the man rushed him. Soyata went with the flow, dodging the mans attacks.
Something you should know is that they aren’t in a ring, they’re on dirt ground, so there’s nothing stopping dirty play… not that any of that happened.
Anyhow, after dodging them for awhile, he decided he was getting bored of dodging and with a smile, said, “You know what? I’m gonna attack now! YEAH!” With this, he dodged one more hit before jumping over the man, and then once landing behind him, elbowing him in the middle of his back. After the elbow, Soyata grabbed the man by his arms, and leaning forward, threw him face-first.
“Come on! Try harder. This is boring to me. My judo master pokes harder.”
As the man got to his knee, he was met with headlock, and Soyata yelling random things hyping the crowd up. Soyata then lifted the man to about half-standing and held him there before forcing his head down onto the dirt with quite a bit of force. This almost knocked the man unconscious, of course, that man would have to be a normal man to be knocked unconscious. This man really stood no chance against him; it was funny.
The man got up and was ready to fight. The guy was bloody, had at least a broken nose if not a slight internal bleeding. Not that Soyata cared; nah. He was too busy enjoying himself. This guy was tough, sure, but not as tough as he could have been. Not as tough as the one master who taught him to be tough.
This fight had hit maybe the five minute mark at this point; not that it matters since the fight was about to be over.
At this point, the opponent called for a weapon, and was given one. he looked around and found a 3 foot metal pole sticking out of the ground and grabbed it. The real battle to the death was going to happen now. The staves colided but the match swiftly ended when Soyata smashed the back of his opponents head wide-open.
Soyata left while Kyle collected the money.
Over the course of those next two years, he did 100s of legal tourneys and around 50 of illegal; but he was never caught. His masters were the reason he was never caught. They weren’t idiots you know. His masters though; they figured sending him to Syne was the only way to get him to have an attention-span worth having, so that’s what they did.
- RP Sample:
- He stood across from a random person, in the middle of the school. He was glaring at the person, but then lost the will to stare as he was distracted by his own thoughts. It wasn’t the best idea to do, but hey, Soyata wasn’t known for his fantastic ideas. He was known for his strength and his ability… also not for his social skills in which his was completely inept. He knew where this inept issue came from, although he’d never call himself inept, what was the point of being a star if you were inept, right? That was stupid and even he knew it! HE KNEW IT! How dare those who disagree disagree. Beyond that, though, was a boy who was lovely.
A boy who decided that it would not be the brightest idea to attack a fellow student and get in trouble, lest he get absolutely destroyed by Kyle and his throws. No one wants that.
