Arrwyn Ellavir

Arrwyn Ellavir
Arrwyn wasn’t exactly sure what to think of Finnek Forest, an area she had explored little in her time within the island country of Bellmuse. It was kind of impressive, though the noble girl had very little real experience with forests in general. After all it wasn’t proper normally for a lady of the House Ellavir to simply traipse through the woods for no reason other than her own fancy. At least that was what most of her family would have believed. The truth was that she never had the opportunity to explore the wilderness, especially not on her own.

Her family had kept her on a short leash, between keeping her busy with tutors giving her constant lessons, instructing her on the nuances of Atlasian politics, and keeping her locked up in the family estate to ensure her secret remains such. The opportunity for exploration only came in her teens, after she’d learned how to use her semblance properly and began sneaking out. Still she had spent little time in forests or outdoorsy areas in general, mostly spending it in the areas around her families various estates throughout the kingdom, though the main estate she’d spent a lot of time sneaking into the capital city.

In short, standing around in Finnek was a new experience for Arrwyn, though this wasn’t the only reason she was here. After all she needed to practice, and figured getting some actual experience against a real life grimm couldn’t hurt her in the long run.

Beowulf

Beowulf
Much akin to a pack of actual wolves, they were a back of bigger Beowulfs. They had been perusing for some sort of human opponent, namely to fight and take out. They wanted to sort of prove their dominance here, and it was much easier to do so when it was three on anything less than 4. There was a single target, just out in this forest! How useful was that for the three beowulves!

They started to move, slinking through the forest around her. They moved as quiet as they could, although one could still hear them. As soon as they got within 100 feet, they sprinted towards this woman who was alone. Once within 50 feet, they splt up and went for a pincer move, one going down the middle, and one going on her left and one to her right.

Once they reached her, all three would attempt to claw at her; twice in fact.

All three ran at you before pincering.

Arrwyn Ellavir

Arrwyn Ellavir
Arrwyn noticed the group of Beowulf well before they were upon her, being able to hear the Grimm coming even if she were unable to see them until they had begun sprinting. Arrwyn was a bit off guard seeing the numbers of the creatures, though she wasn’t too concerned, since she didn’t see any reason she couldn’t fight them off on her own. After all they were smaller than another Grimm, probably. There was also the fact that she was an Ellavir and refused to allow herself to be intimidated by something as lowly as a pack of beowolfs.

The noble girl quirked an eyebrow when the beowulfs tried to surround her, and the beasts might have actually caught her in their attack had there not been for one fact they weren’t expecting. While they had her more or less surrounded, and the beowolves were far too large for her to simply fight past them or through them. However, there was one direction she could still retreat to, and Arrwyn took the opportunity to Fly upwards fast enough, and at just the right moment that the creatures’ claws would miss her.

The Noble girl drew her sword in the same moment, swinging it to strike the middle one’s head just as she ascended past it. She would continue upwards for a few moments, out of immediate striking range before she flew down quickly, floating down to strike the same Beowulf from behind twice in the back with two diagonal strikes.

To say they were surprised when the girl took flight wasn't wrong. They would've never guessed that she would've flown. This threw a wrench in their plans, but tweedle dee dum and doh were not to be stopped. They watched as she cut at the middle one, and gave a look to denote that her strikes were not strong. Now the real challenge began.

How would they defend against an air attack? That was not within the proper thinking of the beowulfs, but it was simple enough to do what they planned. They all spaced out, with the middle one still being in the middle, and so on and so forth, but a bit farther back so she couldn't strike them all at once. That was the plan at least, while the middle one did take a bunch of damage, that was no problem at this very moment. They awaited her next attack, not willing to jump at her quite yet. Soon though.

Arrwyn Ellavir

The Beowulf was evidently taken off guard, seeing as it hadn’t even been able to defend itself from her first salvo of attacks, with the others spreading out and seemingly almost waiting. She did get the impression the thing’s were practically taunting her, not getting injured. While huntsman were often capable of high levels of mobility, often feats of outright astounding agility even based on some stories and footage she’d watched. However there was a very real difference between combating something like that, and an actual flying opponent, and Arrwyn knew the beowolves while likely adaptable to some extent, seemed more likely to act on instinct than any sort of intellect.

When they spread out, she decided it’d be best to pursue the one she’d already wounded, flying after it and whilst flying, the wolf grimm would be met with her steel as it turned around, as she gave a thrust forward, trying to capitalize on it’s lack of preparedness, flying sidewards, slashing in line with her own movement before using the momentum for a spin. The noble girl would strike at the thing’s flank with a diagonal cut, still levitating she floated backwards in the hopes of being able avoid any retaliation.

The beasts were displeased, as one could guess. They had realized, at this point, that the girl wasn't just floating! It was flying! That...threw a hitch in their plan, admittedly. It had taken them this long, with one of their kin getting almost killed so far, for them to realize it. But this was to be the end. At least, according to their instincts. It probably wouldn't be.

As if getting more sinister, if that was even possible, they decided to attack.

The one that stood in the middle ran forward, towards her. It'd stop short of her.

The one to the right, would run up and leap, attempting to claw the girl twice.

The one to the left, would run up and leap as well, attempting to claw the girl apart.

The middle one's plan was to examine the reactions to his bretherns attacks, to try to mold. It was a basic comprehension, albeit, but it was one nonetheless.

Arrwyn Ellavir

Arrwyn Ellavir
Arrwyn didn’t miss the movement to her side, even as the middle beowolf charged at her, Arrwyn moved to meet the creature as well, determined to wear down their numbers before they could adapt to her flight. She managed to avoid the strikes from the first Grimm by simply moving faster than it, as while it was jumping at her, she kept forward. Causing the Grimm to miss it’s mark as she was no longer where it had leapt. The fact she’d seen it moving helped, however Arrwyn’s slowing down caused the other Grimm to hit her with one of its claws. Though the claw was a glancing blow that did little to stop the noble girl.

Arrwyn continued her rush on the middle grimm, thrusting her sword forward to stab into it, before then flying upward, though not too high. She would fly just over it’s head before tumbling into something similar to a summersault, her sword meant to slash into the creature’s upper back before she landed with a pirouette, her sword slashing low this time and aiming to cut the creature’s legs before she attempted a finishing blow, stabbing at the creature with what would hopefully be the last attack on the creature. Arrwyn’s feet now firmly planted on the ground as she released her semblance for now.

Beowulf

Beowulf
Up until this point, they didn't take their target particularly serious. They thought it was just poking and prodding their partner, and when it dissolved, that was the sign that they should take the fight deathly seriously. That meant something massive. There was a snarl, one of a feral wolf that just lost its mate. It came from both of the wolves, and with it grounded, they had a simple strategy.

Both the left and right one charged, both swiping twice before leaping back. They were trying to replicate the strategy that was used to kill their mate. A hit and go strategy. This was their ground strategy at the very least. They didn't have a single strategy if it went back in the air, but for now it wasn't. That's all the mattered, was that it wasn't in the air. It meant that it was more vulnarable to swipes than it was before.

Arrwyn Ellavir

Arrwyn Ellavir
One of them down, Arrwyn noted as the slain grimm began to disappear, knowing that meant she had only two opponents to fight, rather than the three on one battle it had been before. Both of the wolves seemed rather angry, with the loss of their packmate, though Arrwyn wasn’t too concerned by this, after all it wasn’t like they weren’t already trying to kill her. The two wolves leapt at her and Arrwyn decided rather than once again taking to the air to try a different approach. The blonde would slide under and between the two before they could land, though two of the strikes managed to hit her, one from either grimm as a result of the maneuver, her aura reacting to prevent any real injury from the attacks.

Either way the Noble girl would manage to get behind the two grimm in time to deliver her own attack to either one’s back. The blonde would strike at the first one with a diagonally cut from left to right, the cut going upwards and leading into her attack on the other grimm, a second diagonal cut that was angled more downward this time. The noble would then, while stepping forward and putting herself between the Grimm while also pivoting into a spin, her blade would be able to strike both with the spinning strike, acting as an attack on both.

HP: 135/150 AP 120/120
Actions: Four physical strikes, two on either grimm at 25 damage per hit.
