Overall Personality: Kin is an energetic girl who likes to keep things moving. She loves to perform in her circus troupe and interact with the audience. She is very extraverted, and loves to be around people. She's always hanging out with someone or trying to make a new friend. She's used to moving around the kingdoms a lot, so she's also incredibly accepting of people who are considered different or unusual as she's come to see there are many different customs and cultures within the world. In fact, some of her favorite people are those that don't follow the crowd. She is intrigued by them and drawn to their unique nature. Perhaps it's because she is a kindred spirit to them. Although she gets along well with most people, everyone around her has definitely noticed that there is something different about her that makes her stand out. It's almost like she radiates light where ever she goes; she is kind but strong, and also unafraid to stand up for herself or others. More than anything, she's understanding of people, and can relate to most. Many people are surprised by her wealth of knowledge when it comes to people and their intricacies, and sometimes come to her for advice with how to deal with troublesome characters. Kin herself has a few struggles of her own. She has a hard time dealing with stability or consistency. It's natural to her for things to be constantly changing in her surroundings, and adjusting to places that are bound by routine is difficult for her. She doesn't do well with strict rules or agendas and can't handle doing an activity for too long without switching to something else.
Abilities
Aura type: Spirit
Aura Color: golden yellow
Semblance: Kinetic Light: She can absorb the kinetic energy produced from her movement and then manifest said energy as light. She can manipulate this light as if it were a solid form. She can form it into the shape of a weapon, use the light to make projectiles, form defensive barriers with it, or even charge it directly into her ribbons to make a laser whip of sorts.
Item 1: Lumiere Ribbons (weapon): Kin has two ribbons that each have a dust crystal at the top of the rod. The crystal affects the behavior of the ribbon attached to the rod. Water whips, Flaming ribbons, ribbons that can turn rock solid, all of these are possible and more depending on the type of dust crystal she is using on her weapon.
Item 2: water dust (10x)
History and Sample
- History:
- Kin wasn't born into a normal family. She was found by a circus troupe, called "Gold Sun" while they were traveling between kingdoms. Someone had abandoned kin on the road, and she was surrounded by a few beowolves. Luckily, the troupe was prepared as a handful of its members were huntsmen, whose sole purpose was to provide protection as the troupe traveled inbetween kingdoms. When they saw kin, a little baby girl no older than a year in such peril, they couldn't simply stand by. The huntsmen of the troupe killed off the beowolves, and the troupe decided to care for her until they could bring her to an orphanage. As fate would have it though, the troupe grew too attached to her, and adopted her for themselves. They named her "Kin Hikari" or "golden light" because of the joy and brightness she brought to everyone. Years later, as Kin turned 16, the troupe came across a small village just outside the kingdom of Vale. It was overrun with grimm. The huntsmen of the troupe immediately went to work, but Kin saw a little boy who was in trouble, about to be killed off by a grimm. She moved before she could even think, and used her performance ribbons to bind the grimm before she picked up the boy and brought him to safety. One of the huntsman in her troupe noticed, and after a thorough scolding, He mentioned that Kin could become a good huntsman. This huntsman, name Leo, helped train her for a year before enrolling her into Syne Academy. The farewell was difficult for Kin, but she wanted to try and see if this new path might be a good one for her. If she could help people in more than simply lifting their spirits, she decided that it wouldn't hurt to try.

- Kin made her way over to the academy grounds at a brisk pace, getting a few strange and surprised expressions as she passed people by. She giggled to herself and thought, "I guess the students around here aren't used to seeing a circus performance costume." She looked around and wondered what sort of people came to this school. Hopefully she'd make some interesting friends, and forget about how much she missed her troupe, her family. Kin slowed down and let out a sigh, before switching her focus to what lay in front of her. The academy grounds were beautiful, and there was plenty of wide open space. She grinned mischievously as an idea popped into her head. "Well, the welcoming assembly doesn't start until later anyway.... so.... why not?"
Kin looked around and found a space without too many people in the way and started one of her favorite ground routines. As she flipped, twirled, and leapt, a small crowd began to gather around her. She stopped for a moment, then took a gracious bow and using her stage voice, began speaking. "Welcome! Welcome to this academy, fellow students! Please enjoy this small spectacle as we all await the main event!"
The small crowd cheered and slowly grew larger as Kin continued her routine, until someone threw a dagger at her. The audience gasped in shock as Kin gracefully dodged it with a spinning back handspring. She didn't know who threw it, but panic was the last thing these students needed. She brushed off her costume and spoke to the audience once more "Well well well, it seems things are truly going to be exciting today!" The audience fooled, thinking it was part of the show, cheered and calmed down instantly. Kin smiled, she'd done her job quite splendidly.
