History and Sample
- History:
- Rayne is an only child with a father who raised him alone due to his mother dying after giving birth to him. He was often neglected by his father when he was younger, to which he would often stray away from home and meet an old man sitting on his porch drinking something. Being young and curious, not knowing any better, he walked up to the old man asking for a drink. The elder just laughed at him, and asked him what he was doing alone and where his parents were at, and he just replied his dad didnt care about him and that he was exploring. The elder poured a smaller serving of his drink, which would become Rayne's favourite drink. Now this elder would play an important role to him as he grew older, and more independant. He often go to the elder's place after his father would hit him or just plain yell at him for doing something.
After living 10 years of it, he had enough and just ran away from his father and would live with the elder. There the elder asked if he had any dreams after 2 years living there. When he replied that he wanted to be a hunter and explore the world, the elder chuckled and left the house with no explanation. Rayne was worried when the elder didn't come back that night or the next, he feared the worse. He was packing his stuff up getting ready to leave when the elder returned with a wrapped package. Rayne had a breakdown as the elder dropped the package on the ground and comforted Rayne, realizing what was going on.
The next day, the elder explained where and why he had left and wanted to teach Rayne how to use a ninjato, a weapon his own father used and taught him, to which he would pass down to him. Rayne realised that this would be his weapon of choice, just nodded and accepted his teachings.
The next 4 years he would be training 5 days a week after his basic schooling. He had average grades and didn't stand out except for english class, where he could read to his hearts content, but had to sigh at the work he had to do after he finished a book.
He went to jail for one night when he helped a person, unknowingly run off with something expensive. That one single night of being alone in a cell with complete strangers, who were in his opinion crazy and from the smell, drunk from beer or drugs, he didn't know which, didn't want to go there again.
- RP Sample:
- Rayne walked through the street towards a small store that sold tea bags and tea sets where he had a set pre-ordered as a gift for the elder. He looked up towards the sky and seeing it was a beautiful day he though about grabbing the tea set after he had a few cups himself outside, and the clouds did look inviting to watch. Nothing better than cloud watching with a warm cup of tea on a beautiful day like this, in his own book. He entered the store and took a look around the store. The store was small but had 3 aisles that had teas of every flavour, tea sets that were on display, some even with cutlery for those who had snack with their tea. On one wall, were lone tea cups that ranged in prices, mainly from different companies that manufactured them and designs. One entire wall was dedicated towards coffee with a coffee grinder and bean dispenser in the corner so people could buy raw beans for their coffee, in bulk or buy a set amount rather than buying them in a package.
"Here for your pickup Rayne?"the store clerk asked Rayne, getting to know him over the years of coming and going with the elder.
"Not right now, you think you could brew me up some green tea? Today is too good a day to pass up plus, I cant exactly hide the set from the elder in the house,"Rayne would say as he scratched behind his neck as the store clerk laughed out loud and went to make his tea."I'll pay what I owe now and pay for the thermos as well since I have the money."
After he left the money on the counter beside the cash register, and waited for a few minutes for his thermos to be filled, he walked amongst the aisles and looked to the pictures of tea sets that the store didn't have, mainly ones that were specialized for patrons and only for decoration. He sighed at the price tags that they had spent and dumbfounded as to why they would spend so much money on something they would never use. He took a look over, walked over as the clerk was gathering the money up as Rayne took the thermos and walked out with a salute as the clerk nodded at his retreating back. Today truly was a good day for Rayne indeed.
