Overall Personality:
Warren is a smart man, who's used to getting his way and succeeding at what he does. He's stubborn but so far, it's been a good thing in his life, as he's been able to overcome any obstacles that have gotten in his way, but it likely will not be for much longer. His aura is a touchy subject for him, and it angers him when people call attention to it, or perhaps his near lack of it. Accompanying this anger is a massive drive for self-improvement. Warren constantly tries to push past his limits, and become better at what he does. Warren can also be a bit stand offish, but it is not on purpose, and he is rather friendly, in his own way, often making sarcastic jokes that may be taken too seriously. He also has a habit of tinkering, playing with and making small machines in his free time, which he also does with Dust Carapace, something he is constantly trying to improve upon.
Abilities
Aura type: Recovery
Aura Color: Gray, almost transparent
Semblance: Unlike most Hunters who can rely on their Auras to their support them throughout a fight or to be used as a last ditch effort to save themselves from death, Warren’s is different. It is weak in all regards, from its color to its feeling. Warren’s aura is gray in color, and nearly completely transparent even when brought fully to bear. His ability to take blows largely comes from his own endurance as a fact of this, his Aura providing little protection. As a utilitarian use, Warren’s Semblance allows him to focus, create, and bend light, an ability he self-deprecatingly calls Nightlight. Using this, he can create, move, and shape light, creating small floating balls of it, or focus it into an extremely bright and blinding flare, and luckily, due to the minor nature of his power, he can use it a decent amount, even with his extremely weak Aura. If he should focus, he can bend light around himself, turning him invisible, though this takes a great a deal out of him. (Utility. Invisibility costs x4 Aura. I’m open to suggestions/change.)
Item 1: Armor: Dust Carapace. This suit of armor is compromised of two main pieces, the Carapace, and the Exoskeleton. The Carapace is the actual armor of the suit, with plate armor, flexible bullet resistant cloth, and the like. The Exoskeleton provides two things; canisters that hold potent powdered Dust, and minor machinery that augments the wearer's strength and speed which, when worn with the Carapace, makes it seem as if the armor weighed nothing at all. The Carapace can be used as a conduit for the Dust as well, as they are designed to work together.
Item 2: Tier One Dust: Fire
History and Sample
- History:
- Warren comes from a well off family, a family with a Hunter or Huntress in every generation of their line. As the oldest son in a family with four other siblings, Warren is expected to be one as well. As a child, Warren actually looked forwards to becoming a Hunter, doing his best to live up to expectations. He took many classes, both academic and physical to hone his mind and his body and learned how to use many types of weapons, all funded by his family.
It was during his teenage years that Warren’s Aura was unlocked by a Hunter, relative of some sort. To Warren, everything he had done up to this point was in preparation for this specific point in time. He expected an aura that surpassed every Hunter and Huntress that came before him, an Aura capable of untold powers. Warren was crushed when the process was over. The Aura, something that all Hunters, near unique to every person who had one, and often prized piece of a Hunter's skill set was denied to Warren. While Warren’s spirit was temporarily broken, he did not stop. He looked to other ways to overcome his disability. Dead set on becoming a Hunter, he swore to himself, hell or high heaven, he’d make it. Using his intellect and his drive, he created his Dust Carapace, designing every single piece himself.
Now, Warren stands ready to become the best Hunter Vytal has ever known. Sent off to Syne Academy, Warren intends to pass with flying colors, and to gather all the fame and fortune he can. Of course, life has a way of screwing with your plans, and that is something that may very well happen to Warren.
- RP Sample:
- Today was the big day. Today was the day that Warren turned thirteen years old. Today was the day that Warren took a massive step towards becoming a Hunter, and got his Aura unlocked. He was giddy with excitement. His heart threatened to pound its way free of his chest, and he couldn’t stop himself from shaking. A grizzled man with a scar running down from his forehead to the bottom of his ear stood in front of him with a small smile on his face. This was Warren’s uncle, a veteran Hunter, and around him currently were his parents and siblings, all arrayed to watch this moment. His uncle spoke to him, his voice rough but kind, “You ready, boy?”
Warren swallowed and licked his lips, his mouth feeling extremely dry. He took a deep breath to calm himself and nodded his head. “Yea… I’m ready.”
His uncle nodded back in return. “Alright, brace yourself, boy.” His uncle reached out a calloused hand and touched Warren’s chest. Warren was forced to take a slight step back from the simple force of his touch, and he could feel the rough texture of his uncle’s hand from underneath his shirt. “Sorry,” was all his uncle grunted to him before he started to glow. It was orange. His uncle’s Aura was orange… That was all that ran through Warren’s head before it was all over. His uncle let go and stepped back, panting slightly. “Well?” his uncle asked him.
Warren looked down at his arms and focused. He grit his teeth and willed with all his might for his Aura to spring forth, bright and unmatched by any Hunter that ever walked Vytal. And nothing. He furrowed his brows and gave a quiet, “Huh?” before trying once more, this time willing even harder. His mouth twisted into a snarl as he tried with every ounce of his being to bring his Aura out. He began to glow, soft and almost unnoticeable, with a dim gray light. He looked at himself unbelievingly. From the corner of his vision, he saw his uncle frowning, and the rest of his family murmuring amongst each other. “N-no… T-that can’t be it…” Warren mumbled to himself shakily. He focused one more time, attempting to bring his Aura out to the full power it had to have, but to no avail. He looked around in desperation at the rest of his family, but he was only met with looks of concern and confusion.
His heart started to pound once more, but this time, not out of giddy nervousness, but out of panic. “No! Come on!” Warren shouted to himself. He desperately threw out his arm willing something to happen. His hand began to glow. It started small, almost the same level of brightness as his Aura, but it began to glow brighter and brighter, a shining white light emanating from his hand. For a moment, his heart leapt as he held his arm out. But the light did nothing but sit there, and soon, he felt a pit open inside his stomach. He pulled his arm back and looked at it. A small ball of white light sat there, in his hand. Warren screamed in frustration and threw his hand out once more, and the light in his hand gently glided forth. He stared at it, angry. “No!” he yelled. “It wasn’t supposed to be like this!” He willed the light to disappear, to be crushed into a million tiny pieces, just like what had been done to his dreams just then. The light disappeared.
Warren stood there for a long minute. He felt something warm run from his eyes down his face. He sniffled as he tried to hold it back, but he failed. He fell down to his knees and began to sob.
