    Summary
- Lapis made it through class with no sign that anything was wrong before bumping into a jerk who then proceeded to shove him onto his A**. He remained sitting there on the ground.

"tell me, who among you truly feels upset because the harlot is dead? Which of you came here out of the goodness of your heart to save a the tyrant who ordered my first wife's execution?"

A question that echoed in the depths of this young blue haired individual's mind. It wasn't the question itself that tormented him, but the thoughts, the answer present in his mind during the time that it was asked. That day was possibly second to the worst day in his life, being beat out by the day that led him to becoming a Hunter. The answer was so appalling that he couldn't answer at the time for the shame was too great, and even now the words could not be spoken in solitude.

Living day by day with nothing but determination to make it to the next day without breaking down...recalling her facial expression moments before she died, the fear that filled her eyes and her voice moments before the life fled her body. Lapis hid it well since the day of the event, and did so using every ounce of mental strength that he could afford. Classes went on as if nothing had happened, and though news began to spread about the failed attempt throughout the school, no word on the Hunters involved came up. With the ring of the bell indicating the end of Class, Lapis got up from his seat, Ipod in hand with the headset around his neck and made his way out of the classroom. The Professor attempted to reach out to talk to Lapis but he was already gone.

His shoulder motioned upwards a bit, assisting his hands in motioning the headset that was once situated around his neck to the top of his head. Music helped greatly to calm his mind most of the the time, and it was during this time that he needed it a great deal. As he made his way through the hallways and out into the courtyard commons, Lapis closed his eyes for a moment, which helped him relax a bit, but at the same time it came at the cost of losing sight ahead of him. It was only a mere moment, but that was all it took for him to bump into someone which instantly snapped him out of his calm state. " HEY! WATCH IT! " The Towering figure yelled before shoving an already disoriented Lapis into the ground before walking away chuckling slightly.

Lapis hit the ground on his **s before looking to the individual who passed him. With the way he was at the moment, he couldn't bring himself to get angry, definitely since it was himself who wasn't paying attention in the first place. From an view from the outside by others in the area, it would probably appear like a semi-bully situation, with Lapis being the victim in that instance. Whether he allowed himself to admit it or not, he was defeated...and not because of what just occurred. He just remained sitting there on the ground, slowly closing his eyes as if he was shutting down and going to sleep.

It was another day, another time yet things were still the same for the blonde fox girl that was roaming the empty hallways of Syne Academy while classes were being held. Vella was still waiting to be allowed to attend those classes but since it was taking so long she figured that the teachers' corp might have found out the truth about her. The idea was frightening her, she left everything behind to come here and would have nowhere to go if she was thrown out of the school. She had to do something, she needed to know what they knew about her and a soon as possible or she'd go crazy from anxiety. At least whatever would happen she wouldn't be alone, and the thought made her smile lightly as she looked over her shoulder as she walked.

The bell that announced the the end of the current classes began to rang, surprising the faunus girl who's ears perked up at the sudden sound. Seeing doors opening with students now flooding the hallways, Vella leaned against the nearby wall to not get in anyone's way. It wasn't like she had somewhere to go anyway, so she could wait for the corridors to clear before continuing her aimless walk. She looked around, her eyes seemingly empty as she stared back at some people who looked in her direction. She couldn't care less about what they thought about her, if she was weird, rude, mean, the only opinion she needed was someone that seemingly no one cared about but her so others weren't important to both of them.

Her train of thoughts was suddenly disturbed, Vella's hear perking up once more as she tried to focus on a small scene that was happening not far from her. A big guy seemed to have pushed a smaller looking on to the ground before continuing on his way. No one was helping the one that was sitting there, maybe because he seemed to have been listening to music while walking and wasn't careful enough as he walked in the hallway. The blonde faunus looked at the boy for a while, wondering why he was wasn't standing up. She looked up right next to her before sighing and rolling her eyes before walking to the boy and extending a hand towards him, poking his shoulder to get his attention. "Hoi, come on stand up, you can't stay like that. Here, let me help you." She kept her hand forward so she could help him stand while looking over her shoulder towards the wall with a light glare.

Lapis eyes remained closed for a bit as he sunk closer to the point of breaking. How close he was to that point was unknown, but he drew closer, replaying the images of the two events back to back, the funeral of the past, and the Siege on Hunter's Smith's base a few days ago. Two females faces appeared more prominently, one of Kin and one of Foe, both whose death dragged him deeper into the Abyss. Beyond the faces was a small little boy of blue hair, who looked just like him when he was younger...around the age of 11. This Boy had his back to Lapis, only turning his head to the side so only the left side of his face could be seen. From the left eyes was a stream of tears, which caused breathing to become difficult for Lapis / I became a this to make sure others didn't end up like her...and though I hated what she was...she ended up just like her...Man I..huh...? / Something poked his shoulder a bit granting him a moment to reclaim his composure by pulling his mind from the ill thoughts. / Man! Lapis you got to get it together. Don't unravel, don't show you're sad, don't show you're angry...you just have to keep moving forward. Open your eyes!! /.

Lapis eyes slowly opened up, first thought upon doing so was to locate the source of that sensation he felt in his shoulder. Standing before him was a female with her hand extended to him while she was looking away, almost as if she was trying avoid eye contact with him. It was rather peculiar to say the least, but probably so was him just sitting there, something he would soon attempt to explain away. He reached for her hand and grabbed it, using it to help pull himself up to his feet. " Hey Um...thanks. I don't know what got into me there. The guy must have shoved me down a bit harder than I thought. I need to work out more if Im losing it just from a shove ".

The blonde faunus looked a little more intensely at the man on the ground as he slowly opened his eyes before he grabbed her hand. In a second, both of them were on their feet and he was thanking her for helping him out. He then came up saying that he'd need to train himself more as a shove like that was shameful to be downed to the ground by it he said. She crossed her arms as she looked a him more, nearly analyzing him before slowly shaking her head left and right. "That's probably not it. Maybe if you didn't listen to music and were more focus on what was happening around you in a crowded hallway it wouldn't have happened. You don't look hurt anyway, so it clearly wasn't something caused by a lack of strength. You have no bruises or anything..."

This was something that Vella didn't know, but Aura would have avoided this boy to get any bruises or any other wounds. But not being a knowledgeable girl about anything related to the world of Huntsman and Huntresses, this wasn't something she would know. She herself might have got a bruise from falling down the way he did, so she thought it was the same for anyone.

Vella kept looking back and forth between the boy and behind her, simply looking over her shoulder when her gaze was oriented towards the wall she was leaning against moments ago before keeping her eyes on him before talking. "You'll be fine now? You probably got something better to do than lay on the ground in the middle of the hallway too." She wasn't aiming to appear harsh, she just thought that there was better to do right now, something she would have liked for her as well as she herself had nothing to do or nowhere to go.

In a normal scenario where he wasn't trying to stave off Mental fatique, he would have built up on exactly why he didn't have any actual injury or markings. Lapis just wasn't were he should have been mentally, though his facial expression didn't really show that when conversing with Vella. He arched a brow when noticing her look back and forwards, something that would be common in individuals who were looking out for someone, though he wasn't sure if this was the case with this female. It definitely was way out of place during the interaction, which was a huge distraction. It wasn't long before Lapis had realized this himself, and immediately thought to make use of it.

" I don't really...at least not for a long while. The recent bell signaled the end of my Classes for a few hours and there hasn't been much on my plate as of late. A little studying here and there, a lot sleeping with a few snacks and Im good to go by time of the next class ". Those words were accompanied with a slight rubbing of the back of his neck while smiling, having revealed a little shame of his. With this woman now being the focus, he could not paint her face on any instances in the past since he had been there, causing him to question a few things. " Are...are you new here ? I recall a lot of faces I see on a daily basis...don't really recall yours ".

The blonde faunus listened carefully at his answer about having better things to do and let out a small sigh as she was hearing that he didn't seem to eat properly from what he was saying. At least he looked like he realized himself that he could do better than simple snacks from the way he was rubbing the back of is neck, which was something. Realizing that you have a problem is the first step in overcoming it. "Snacks aren't meals, you should eat more properly. Also maybe sleep less, from the way you sound you make it appear as if you sleep half of your days. Go outside every so often too to catch some sun, you look rather pale. Why am I even saying that to you? Shouldn't it be logic to do that in the first place?"

The faunus girl then looked once again behind her before the boy asked her if she was new. Even though there was no way for him to have the slightest clue that she wasn't supposed to be here, the question did make her tense up a little before she took a deep breath and relaxed herself before answering, which hopefully wouldn't have appeared weird or suspicious. "I am. I just arrived a couple of days ago, so it's pretty normal that you haven't seen me around before." Vella clearly looked a bit more comfortable than when she first spoke to the guy. He looked friendly enough while having this sort of childish feeling about him that made you care a bit more for him. It wasn't a bad thing really, just that it made him be more careful about this boy. Not that he would do anything but warn her anyway...

Absolutely shameful, being scolded by someone who was new to the academy. The thought of it was both pathetic and hilarious in a positive way. His habits definitely wasn't good ones, or ones that many in society would approve of. A student who often rested up both during and not during classes, whom could be seen often listening to music with some kind of snack from one of the vending machines...definitely not the model student. There were some positives that came with this lifestyle, some of which conflicted with the nature of becoming a hunter. He enjoyed it though, and even to a degree enjoyed the disapproval he obtained from Vella. Lapis smiled slightly, more of a smirk at the thought of encountering a brand new student to the academy. This would align the other things that seemed out of place about this individual into place, as it would make since that a new student would behave strangely.

" Oh! that's embarrassing a bit. I Probably didn't give a good Impression of the Academy for Hunters and Huntresses. Still I welcome you to Syne Academy. Im Lapis Valesti, whole name Lapis Lazuli Valesti which doesn't really roll off the tongue smoothly...but you can simply call me Lapis or Val. I'm an Academic Major whom now has quite a bit of time on his hand...How about a tour Ms...? ". There was a slight extension on the Ms, hoping she would fill in the blank for him.

Vella saw that her little scolding brought a smile to the boy's face. She wasn't expecting to get that kind of reaction from him especially since she was a total stranger. The girl herself wouldn't have appreciated someone talking about her own habits and saying that they were bad and would have probably ignored them. But he seemed to know that he wasn't doing himself good with those habits as he seemingly apologized to her without saying "sorry" or anything of the likes as he said that he was probably giving a bad first impression of the academy. "Don't worry, you didn't give me a bad first impression, neither of you nor the school. People do their things, go their ways. I'm not one to judge but when it come to personal health I think everyone should do better. Besides you're not the first one I talked to here, but you're certainly the most normal... in a good way. You don't seem strange or anything, just a regular student. Quite refreshing to see actually."

The faunus returned a smile as he introduces himself as Lapis and welcomed her to Syne. He then proceeded to offer to give her a tour of the school, which didn't really sound like a bad idea. So far she had roamed the academy on her own and even if she would end up knowing all of the corners of the establishment on her own, having someone to talk to and who might even know things she wouldn't sounded like it could be both fun and enlightening. "A tour sounds good to me. And you can call me Vella, Vella Brandeis, nothing special to my name." She smiled to him again as she waited to follow him, looking on last time behind her before focusing back on him.

Described as most normal in a good way, this was something that Lapis could definitely live with. If certain factors were different like being friends instead of new acquaintances, this would have actually caused a anomaly in his normal behavior in the form of some kind of blush. This wasn't the case though, but it did bring a great deal of relief to his mind which would be shown by his expression. With his offer being accepted by the Faunus, Lapis officially became her tour guide, though with it he got something else.

" Vel-la Bran-deis...It does sound nice, definitely the last name. It's definitely a name I wont be forgetting...". He noticed that she turned back again after she accepted, and still summed it up to her being new for now. There wasn't enough to assume anything else. He turned away from her, looking in the direction of what would be their first destination, which was something most individuals was familiar with...the dormitory. Many students of Syne Academy lived on the grounds, including himself. Since she was a new student, it only seemed right to be the first stop. He began walking off at a moderately casual speed, having in mind that she would follow right behind them. It wouldn't be long before they arrived to a huge portion of the estate that was between two towers, and filling in the space between the towers were a multitude of windows leading into the many rooms of its students. Down below was a single doorway which led into the building itself." Our first stop...is where many of the students like myself reside. This is Syne's Dormitory, Majestic like the rest of the place, and quite nice inside. The place looked too much for me...but so did the school when I first got here. Love it though after getting used to it ".
