Savalith had been in many fights now and it was about time he upgraded himself before the tournament began. He wanted to prepare for the worst as sooner or later Savalith would have to fight one-on-one with everyone that entered into the soon to come Syne tournament. He had two choices on what to improve on before the tournament, either increase his hand-to-hand combat skills or his aura usage. He didn't have much time left before the tournament which left him with a tough decision to make. Unsure about what steps he would take Savalith went to the one person he could always rely on when in need of training, his grandfather. Savalith's home wasn't that far from Syne Academy so it would only take him a day to reach his grandfather. Savalith though was afraid that the journey would take out too much time from his training and that it would be worthless to travel that far.
Stuck on the decision on what training method Savalith would perform he flipped a coin to see whether he'd train his aura or combat skills. Savalith put all his faith and trust onto Lady Luck as she was a deity that he always believed in. The end result of the coin was it landing on heads which meant that Savalith would aim to increase his aura instead of improving his fighting skills. Stuck on the decision of training his aura Savalith went to Finnek Forest so that he could train it in peace with no one around. His method of training was for him to purposely get injured, a lot. Having a regenerative healing factor for a semblance was hard for Savalith as it limited him to think of alternative ways to train his aura other than to injure himself while trying to heal his wounds straight after.
As soon as Savalith found a quiet area within Finnek Forest he concentrated on increasing his aura before he started to stab his own body in various places just so he could practice his regeneration ability. As he continued to stab himself with a dagger that he brought along for this very reason Savalith remembered the emotional pain that this semblance had brought him when he was training inside his household. He remembered the face of his father as he at Savalith in disgust because of his regenerative powers. To any normal person this ability would come in handy for any situation, but to Savalith it was nothing more than a curse. Because Savalith grew up in a noble family that honored each and every one of their fights with whichever opponent they fought, having a scare on the body was actually the pride of a man as it signified their battle. Savalith on the other hand was unable to gain any scars of pride because his powers would just heal them immediately. Something that Savalith wish didn't happen. He was looked down upon because of this by all of his family even though they knew he couldn't control it.
After remembering all of these awful memories Savalth thought to himself that instead of making his wounds heal rapidly, he should try to stop his semblance from being activated since it was a sustain semblance that automatically activated whenever Savalith was injured. Though that was indeed a useful feature, it would also be useful to Savalith if his semblance was never activated. That way he could keep scares of pride on him just to prove to himself that he was in a worthwhile battle. From that point on Savalith trained to make sure he could deactivate his semblance whenever he wishes or continue to allow it to stay on automatic.
