It seemed that everywhere he went, things were different. From the colours of the landscapes to the colours of the people he met, his adventures thus far had been brilliant and fresh. But his adventure across the continents had ended for now, the sounds of the soles of his boots hitting the cobble road ended his air voyage. Syne Academy laid ahead of him, with only a short walk from the landing platforms between him and his future.
He gave the folded weapon on his side a pat and a smile grew on his face. A year or two ago this wasn't what he wanted to do at all. He had other plans for himself, but things complicated other things, and the road he was walking presented him with a decision. A fork in the metaphorical road that was his destiny. He chose the road that lead him here, to Syne, even though it wasn't his original plan. Yet he still smiled, knowing that this was an accomplishment. There were others like him, many others to be exact. They all poured out of the airships as they landed, many accompanied by friends and companions. Felix was on his lonesome however, his glance over the crowd yielding few results in the way of familiar faces.
“It's a lot bigger than I thought it'd be.” His eyes danced around every point of interest he could see, soon finding that it was a lot to take in. The castle seemed a bit disorientating, especially for a newcomer like Felix.
I should find somebody who knows their way around, his mind wandered, just like his eyes. He seemed to be looking for somebody now, though nobody in particular, just anybody that looked to have a good grasp on their way around.
