Noire's shoulder was swollen, visibly so. It made her quite grumpy, to be honest. She was a few minutes away from throwing a tantrum over it. Moreover, she didn't quite know who to put the blame on. Really, it wasn't anyone's fault that she was in this situation, not even how own. It had been an accident that he had been distracted by the snowball Kei had thrown as a joke. He couldn't have known that the young faunus girl would end up distracted and with a shoulder that was most likely broken.

What was really bothering Noire was the knowledge that she would probably have to sit still and rest for a while. She didn't quite know the specifics, but she pictured her arm in a sling and immobilized for the next couple of weeks. That would make wielding Spire Chaos awkward. She wouldn't be able to go on any hunts or practice or spar or maybe even run around outside. She couldn't quite handle the prospect. She had never been out of commission for more than a couple of days after an accident or injury like this.

What's more, she knew that she needed a doctor or some sort of medical attention. Back at her village, the medical care provided was minimal and rudimentary. Hunters like her - an orphaned faunus - were treated as disposable, after all. It was assumed that they wouldn't live past five years or so on the job, so there was no sense in wasting resources to take care of them. Since she didn't knew any better, Noire assumed it would be similar at Syne. Maybe she would even get kicked out for taking up space and not making herself worthwhile during her recovery.

Tears of frustration began to well in her eyes. She tried to hide the quivering in her lip by frowning. It looked more like a pout than anything else. If she seemed weak now of all times, there was no doubt she would be thrown aside and replaced in a heartbeat. the young faunus looked to her side, finding Jet there. The other two - Kei and Crimson - had already left, presumably to return to their dorms. "D-do you know where the infirmary is?" She asked under her breath, avoiding eye contact and blushing slightly at the fact that she had to ask.

That hunt had been a hell of a fun one. Injuries were part of the job so even if Jet still had some trouble breathing, having taken a hit when the snowball fight started, he was still smiling wide. Easily the most fun hunt he had yet. Looking around, he saw that all of the others had left except Noire. She on her side seemed actually hurt in a much more serious way. She did take one of the heaviest hit and had been having trouble handling her weapon after that. Or at least she looked like she was having trouble to him at the time.

Looking at the ram faunus, the human could see that she seemed bothered by something, or annoyed. Her facial expression was a bit difficult to read but he could guess she was either hurting or angry… or both. He didn’t know what to say when her eyes started to moisten and she started to pout. He wanted to comfort her but he didn’t really know what was the issue. Was it simply the pain in the shoulder? He guessed it was probably the fact she got hurt simply, she actually seemed to be taking the pain quite well considering she was able to keep fighting. Being hurt in itself was something fighters hated in a prideful sort of way, maybe that was it. Jet didn’t know her enough to have an accurate guess at what she was thinking yet.

At her question about the infirmary, he nodded with a smile. “Yeah sure, I’ll take you there. I wanted to go there myself anyway, just to check that I don’t have a cracked rib or something… That thing hurt.” She seemed fine walking but Jet stayed ready if she needed to lean on him or something. Even though she was just hurt on the shoulder, sometimes the pain can make you numb in other places to the point of it being hard to walk. Endorphins and medical mumbo-jumbo stuff would probably explain why.

As they walked, Jet decided to try and talk to distract her from her apparent negative emotions. “That hunt was fun though. Never had a snowball fight in the middle of one, that was funny even if it was dangerous. Maybe we shouldn’t have done that with that big of a Deathstalker though.

It had gotten late. Noire didn't really have any sort of watch on her to help her tell time, but she could tell from how dark it was and by the general lack of activity around campus that it was probably a little past midnight. She ignored the cold winter's air quite literally nipping at her heels in favor of listening to what Jet was saying. She was glad to hear that he was willing to go to the infirmary with her. Had she been left to her own devices, she would have probably gotten there around dawn. "A cracked rib?!" Noire said, alarmed. "Does it hurt? Can I help? Let me see," she said hurriedly. With her uninjured arm, she would extend her hand over his chest, not so gently trying to palpate where the injury could be, if there was one. Watching one too many episodes of medical dramas on TV had left her with the impression that she could tell when someone else had a fracture. Of course, she would think nothing of the awkward fact that she was feeling up someone else's chest.

She would stop as soon as Jet brought up the hunt/snowball fight. She retracted her hand and nodded. "Y-yeah, you're right. It was fun. I just wish I hadn't... been so clumsy, you know? The snowballs were just really distracting..." she said cheerfully at first, though her voice devolved into a sad whisper towards the end. "N-not that it's your fault or anything! I-I mean, none of you guys could have known this would happen!" She said hastily, waving her arms in front of herself as if that would help deny the idea. She didn't want to imply that Jet or any of the others were at fault. If anything, she had been the one that was careless at the time. Of course, moving her hands around didn't do any favors for her shoulders. She flinched at the pain, now quite comically trying to hold back tears with big, glassy eyes and quivering lips.

The pain was gone a short moment later. So long as she kept that arm still, she would be fine. Waving her giant sword around during the latter half of the battle had probably aggravated the original wound as well. She could make it to the infirmary without help, though. At least, without physical help, meaning that she didn't need anyone to carry her. Even if she did, she would have probably insisted on walking in order to avoid being an inconvenience. It only made sense for her to think that way. The environment she had been raised in had been ruthless - everyone was expected to fend for themselves. If they held anyone back, they could expect to be fed to Beowolves. It had already happened to Noire once, after all.

She would follow Jet towards the main school building and throughout its corridors once he began guiding her. She would walk only slightly behind him, her head slightly cast down as if she were headed towards something terrible.

Jet couldn’t help but laugh a bit at Noire’s alarmed look and tone when he mentioned a possible cracked rib. She was adorable, trying to discern by touch if he had broken anything and he wasn’t going to complain about a pretty girl wanting to put her hands on him. He sported a smile and chuckled a little at her antics. “Don’t worry, I’m fine, but thank you for your concern. It does hurt a bit but it’s maneagable.

She seemed a bit down though after the topic of the snowball fight was brought up, she was blaming herself on her injury instead of those that distracted her. To Jet they were at fault, well mostly Kei, he started it… or was it Crimson? The details are blurry, but he didn’t help when he joined in. He did feel a bit bad for his part in her injury, but they were Hunter’s in training so injuries were to be expected and it was true that if she was going to be distracted by every small thing like a random flying snowball, it would be dangerous to her. She was definitely a capable fighter though, so he wasn’t afraid for her. He did flinch when she started waving her arms, that must have hurt. “Well, we kinda all got distracted by the snowball fight anyway, and all got hit in one way or another because of it. Still, I do take part of the blame since I participated even when I knew that it was dangerous… just sounded too much fun to pass up!” With a laugh, Jet opened the door to the building to let her in, trying not to smile too much at her adorable expression as she was fighting away the pain she caused herself, it was still most probably very painful even if it was somewhat comical.

They reached the infirmary pretty soon after that. It was pretty fancy for a school infirmary, but then again it’s not just any school. Considering the high risk potential of the job and the training, it’s expected that the medical facilities would be up to par. There were a couple medical personnel around and currently all the beds were empty, so they were alone in there. Jet walked to the front desk where a secretary was there to register them in. The place was really set up like it was made to handle a lot of patients at once, but since there was only the two of them they didn’t have to be triaged or anything. Still, the secretary filed in the details of the visit, basically why they’re here and getting the medical files for each of them so that everything can be recorded in their profile.

Jet received his file and since his injury was less severe was directed to the youngest of the two medical personnel present, probably some intern or whatever. Didn’t matter to Jet, just needed a checkup and confirmation that his ribs are fine.
