Such a dull task. Wholly unfitting of a Goddess.
"Next!" The Goddess called from her highchair, cooling herself with a fan partially made from gold.
While the appraisal of new students had initially felt something of a desirable job, pulling gold from silver, it had quickly become pulling bronze from excrement. These students, they were all so... bland. None of them were remotely glamorous, all far to blunt and to the point. Not the slightest sight of style, simply stupid weapons and stupid students. Oh how dull it was.
As the next student entered the room it bowed to her, before pulling forth the tedious tool it intended to use. She rolled her eyes as she pressed a button, on the other side of the room a cage opened; sets of red fangs could be seen within. Crimson eyes burned open as a single beast shambled out. She closed the cage before a pack could follow. Beowulf, fitting that a dog would be set against a dog.
The two clashed like cars rather than dancing. By the end the wanna-be-student had lost a lot of blood, but the beast was defeated. As it shambled out the room Haze sighed. She couldn't quite bring herself to cry next, cry... a word a goddess should never be involved with. Bored. Another of those words.
She looked to the cage, for sure the biggest of the beasts had long left. These ones were pretty scrawny, most shorter than her. However, there seemed to be one exception. A single beast had lain in the back for some time now. Far bigger than those who had left, yet seemingly more docile. Should such a word be used to describe Grimm? Probably not.
The Goddess lowered herself from her outlook, wandering toward the cage with weapon in hand. She could feel a smirk grow as many slunk backward, these beasts fed off doubt and distress; with abilities like hers how could she doubt herself?
One did not seem to back away however, the largest of the beowulf chose to stay. She opened the cage manually with her right hand, and beckoned it forth with a single finger. The beast obliged, the cage slamming shut behind it. The goddess twirled her mace in her left hand, the beast's breathing was loud yet hitched.
In the blink of an eye they were at blows, as the huntress' weapon had swung up to strike the beast upside it had parried with a downward slash. As it let out an icy breath the goddess struck forward with her right fist, gloved of course, struck toward the beast's center. With a growl it brought it's left down to retaliate she took a single step forward to bypass the clawed hand. She opened her fist and grabbed at the beast, pulling and tearing flesh from flesh. She jumped back with a clump of it in her hand, how vile. The goddess began to shake her hand in an-
A clawed strike reddened the fabric of her dress and the floor that accompanied it. the instant it did the whooping of beasts could be heard before her. As Eminence staggered back, a slash down her center and a dress ruined, she glared bullets toward the beast. She would be forced to show the glamour and pristine she had so longed to have seen.
Purple fog consumed the room, not one of the beasts dared to make a sound. Sensing her way through, using both spacial reasoning and feeling the aura she had strained to form her miasma, she quickly found the beast. Daze, confused, scared.
"FuFuFuFuFu~ You've been naughty little demon."
The beast blindly lashed to and fro... only to find Haze's mace successfully penetrated through it's center before being brought up and through it; emerging just bellow it's mouth. As the nearly halved beast collapsed her miasma faded. He injuries were more annoying than grave, the clock told her that her shift was over anyway... she decided to go home and forget this had ever happened. She had nicer dresses anyway.
