Overall Personality:
Gris is many things, full of pride but admirable sense of loyalty, serious in nature but always driven to preform at her best. Gris is openly proud of her faunus heritage and one of the few to admit being part of the White Fang with great pride. She usually fails to see any wrong in her actions, going great lengths to defend her deeds as just or rational when others may see as violent, ignorant or excessive. Gris is naturally distrustful of humans and those with authority due to her own personal history. Gris however has a sense of honor to her, as she greatly respects acts of loyalty and can be expected to hold onto her promises. The few people that Gris can call her friend can expect a loyal ally like no other as she will fight hard to keep the friends she has since she seems to have so few of them. Gris is also quite an over-achiever, as she always feel that she has to prove herself. This drive makes her strive to become the best that she can... but also competitive as she always tries to outdo everyone. She greatly admires anyone who shares her competitive spirit and respects the limits of friends or foes, as long as they are preforming at the best of their ability. On the flip side, she abhors laziness... seeing as a waste of potential and always feel the urge to nag on those who slack off. She may act serious and tough all the time but she is still just young 17 year old girl who enjoys trying on new clothes, putting on make-up, and being called pretty like many other girls her age. She will adamantly try to deny it as she try to keep up her image of being a tough girl. Gris doesn't know how to handle her feelings and emotions as she thinks that make her appear weak. Thus she comes off as tough or aggressive to others so that she can avoid embarrassing herself over her own self-perceived weaknesses. When put into embarrassing or awkward situations, she easily becomes flustered and and will shamefully try to get away since she doesn't know how to confront such situations.
Abilities
Aura type: Recovery
Aura Color: White
Semblance: Howling Wind(Utility) - Ability to control powerful gusts of wind. With her semblance, Gris can propel herself in any direction to quickly avoid attacks. Conversely she can direct these winds to her opponents. While her semblance is incapable of causing any physical or dust based damage, such winds may push back, or at least slow down, an opponent just enough for Gris to have more breathing room. The larger/heavier the foe though, the less likely that wind will be effective at stalling them. In combat, Gris uses these winds to keep the fight on her own terms, engaging and disengaging when she wishes to. For more mundane tasks, Gris finds it useful to gets someone's attention, remove dirt, snuff of a small flame, or maybe blow away some very important research papers of nerd who has annoyed her.
Item 1: Grizzly Cutter (Weapon: Rating 1) - A well worn woodman's axe that Gris uses in combat. It was originally a spare weapon that her father kept in storage. Gris however found it to be suitable weapon during her escapees with the White Fang. When sent to Syne Academy, she brought along her familiar weapon for a new cause.
Item 2: Razorwind (Magical Armor: Rating 1) - Part razor fan, part shield. Gris "recovered" it from a specialty weapons store during one of the early raids she was involved in during her time with the White Fang and has been her personal roundshield since. While it certainly appears impressive, the spinning fan action doesn't actually since it lacks the mechanical components and power generators to spin the blades as it was in its prototype stage. Nevertheless, its unique construction and exotic materials makes the shield remarkably resistant to dust based attacks. However, its not as effective as a conventional shield when it comes to more physical/ballistic based attacks due to design shape transfers more kinetic energy to the user as blunt force trauma compared to a traditional shield design.
History and Sample
- History:
Gris grew up in the city of Vale, within the Kingdom of Vale. As with many young children, Gris grew up admiring her parents. Her father Evon Mee , a dark colored wolf faunus, was a well respected hunter. Her mother Iva Mee, a light colored dog faunus, a cultural studies professor. Being well off for family of faunus, her parents enrolled Gris into a prestigious but largely human dominated elementary school. They were naive about the progress the faunus has made since the Faunus Rights Revolution. Gris, being one of the few faunus attending the school, soon found herself over her appearance. When Gris informed her parents of the repeated bullying, her parents confronted the school administration, who disappointingly did little to accommodate Gris and generally did little to stop the bullying. Realizing that there was still great strides to be made to reach equality, both of Gris' parents joined the White Fang, back when the administration more peaceful strategies to achieve equality. They would later bring their daughter into the White Fang a short time later.
By the time Gris was 9, she and her parents where active within the White Fang, her father in particular as his status as hunter making him quite popular in the organization. During one of their peaceful marches against the government, the police cracked down on the protesters to which they claimed they didn't have a permit to do so and where causing a public disturbance. The police arrested a few prominent White Fang members, including her father Evon Mee. While most of those arrested where imprisoned only for a few months but Evon Mee was sentenced for two years in prison since the police claimed him to be the main organizer of the protest rally. Most people speculate that their ulterior motives to the arrest of Evon Mee at work and that the charges where exaggerated. Regardless of what those motives were, Iva Mee left the White Fang in fear that further involvement may have her arrested. Upon her father's eventual release, Evon Mee also left the White Fang. Their daughter however, refusing to be seen a coward like her parents remained in the organization.
By the time she was 10, Gris has taken an interest to becoming a huntress much like her father. Her main reason was to primarily to earn the respect of the humans and believed that by doing so the bigots will see her not as just a faunus but as huntress. Her parents help provide financial support to attend combat schools. In these combat schools, Gris preformed exceptionally well thanks to her strong conviction and her drive to preform at excellence. It was from such training that she learned of her semblance, which allowed her to control the winds, as well as learning how to manage her aura. Still, even in the combat schools, she still encountered bullies that would tease her for being a faunus. To cope, Gris put up a tough front to hide behind whenever she was being picked on, acting that taunts didn't effect her when they very much were. During her days in combat school, she was still very much active within the White Fang, tirelessly making posters, setting up booths, baking treats, and whatever else to help support the cause despite her parent's objections. Yet protest after protest, nothing seemed to have been accomplished, making Gris feel disillusioned in the cause. Gris nearly considered leaving the organization when the White Fang leadership changed by the time she was 12 years old.
At first, she disapproved of the new administration's more militant approach but when the more aggressive and violent actions produced results that dozens of peaceful protest have not, Gris saw the merit of theses shows of force. Using her limited training from the combat schools and taking on one of her father's old weapons, Gris worked in several raids and operations against those who exploited the Faunus for the White Fang. This duel life as huntress in training student and a White Fang operative continued unabated for the next 4 and half years. All the while, Gris constantly had to cover her involvement in the White Fang with her parents by constantly making up excuses about extracurricular activities or staying over at a friend's house to study, to which both parents believed. Her time with the new White Fang changed her, seeing that shows of force are the only meaningful way to get people to pay attention to one's cause and that actions speak far more than words ever could. Yet there was also other things she experienced while with the White Fang... a sort of pride and honor for being part of group that was making real change in the world. The way she saw it, history made not by those who ask for change but to those who fight for it. This characteristic aggression, pride and honor will be something that she will carry over to Syne Academy.
By the time she was nearing the age of 17, Gris was at last captured by law enforcement during a botched dust shop raid. Her mother was... not pleased to having to bail her daughter out of the holding cell. Luckily for Gris, her young age and her father's connections as a hunter enabled Gris to receive a relatively light sentence. Only a months of community service and rehabilitation. Her parents managed to arrange for their daughter to attend Syne Academy as part of the rehabilitation process. They hoped that the Academy's distant location, diversity of staff and students, and the fact that the Headmistress is faunus will provide their daughter benefits. The academy's distance location will keep her out of any involvement with Vale police and the White Fang. Her parents also hoped that diversity of student's and staff will force her to have a more positive experience with humans.
Gris was not please with the arrangement, arguing that her friends in the Fang still needed her here in Vale. Put under the threat of being put in prison to refusing the rehabilitation and the guilt of already shaming her parents, she gave into their demands. While technically not part of the White Fang, she still views herself as part of the organization and sees herself somewhat as representative of the White Fang to Syne Academy. For now, she will focus on becoming the best huntress as she is able and decide later when she graduates whether to return to the White Fang should they still be active or become a protector of all people, human and faunus, as a Huntress.

"How dull." Thought Gris as she watches from the window seat in a airship destined to the Kingdom of Bellmuse. She sits alone as stares disinterestedly at countryside below with nothing but her suitcase and a duffle bag to keep her company. All that seems to be going in her mind was the series of events that has gotten her. Getting jumped on by the Vale police because a newbie's mistake, her mother bailing her out from jail, picking up garbage from the streets for few months, and her parents sending her off to some academy out in the backwoods of a Kingdom so small and insignificant that you might think it was speck of dirt on a map. She lets out groan in frustration, she hated being cooped up inside airship with nothing to but look out a window. While there was certainly other people on board with her, she made no effort to get to know them as she wasn't interested in useless discourse at the moment. Plus, most of them were humans and did not wish to associate with them. Instead she was content with the isolation she had.
"Why hello cutie~"
Her wolf ears twitch and looks in front of her, to find some skinny human male with powder blue hair looking at her with his equally blue eyes. Being called cute gave her some pause, but then proceeds to leer at the boy in silence.
"Errr... I didn't mean to bother you. You seemed kinda bored and lonely so I though I might as well say hi. So, whats your name... I'm Jayce by the way." stuttered they boy, he was trying to be nice but was obviously nervous. He then quickly adds "Oh, and sorry about calling you cute... I guess I shouldn't be so casual since only just now met. Ha ha ha haa... hee... errmm..."
Gris rolled her eyes, this boy was so awkward and she not in the mood to be dealing with some human. Instead of acknowledging him, she returns her gaze back out the window and tried to ignore him. Jayce responded with additional questions.
"So... what brings you Syne Academy? I mean, I assume it is to learn how to become a huntress like everyone else here right? Well what do you think of Bellmuse? I hear its small but beautiful kingdom. And... err... can you hear me? "
Gris takes in a deep breath, turns to face Jayce and answers dryly "Gricelda Mee, trouble at home, becoming a huntress, and small."
Gris then harshly glares at him as she states "And yes, I did take offence to being referred to as "cutie". I am a faunus, I don't expected to be treated like someone's pet."
"Whoa whoa whooa! I didn't mean it like that! " cried out Jayce in a flustered tone "I-I just wanted so say something nice to pretty girl such yourself! I-I wasn't t-trying to demean you or anything... I..." Jayce's voice trails off as he hangs his head shamefully.
Gris frowned somewhat, then looked back out the window. She was somewhat flattered at being called pretty but didn't appreciate that it was from this insensitive dork of a human. She impatiently taps her fingers on the table, Jayce still sitting across from her quietly. She eyes him for a bit until finally growling at him "Hey, are going to leave yet or are you going to embarrass yourself more than you already have?"
Jayce jerks up in his seat, as if snapping out of trance "Huh?! Oh... errmm...yeah."
Gris watches as Jayce gets out from his seat and shuffles his why to the other side of the airship. She breaths a sigh of relief as she wasn't sure what her plan was if he didn't remove himself. At least, not one making some sort scene that would probably end up getting her in trouble or into something that would embarrass her as too. Well one less thing for her to worry about as she goes back to looking out at the window. After all, she has to concentrate on being the best huntress that she can. If that path takes her down to Syne Academy then so be it.
