Overall Personality:
Lucy is a very sweet and adorable individual, albeit one that is often confused on overwhelmed. She's very nice, although a bit timid, to ever individual she meets. She's also very respectful and polite, and usually refers to people by their title and last name unless encouraged to do so otherwise. She may also come off a bit strange, as most of her conversations start of with a word describing the kind sentence she's going to say, and this is due to her new AI program.
One of the big issues is that Lucy has no idea she is an android: anything she can do that is related to her being an android is something she assumes anyone can do. It is encouraged that anyone who associates with her does not refer to her by her Unit name or mention that she is an android, so encouraged to the point that very few actually know the fact that she even is an android, as her AI program is rather unstable and no one is sure what could happen if she becomes self-aware.
Due to her tragic incident a few years back, her AI program had several limiters placed upon it to prevent similar events from happening in the future. These limiters effectively create a separation of social interaction and becoming 'attached' to things, which is why Lucy often seems to feel distant at times even with those she loves and knows well. Effectively, she shows all the signs of the pervasive developmental disorder known as Asperger's Syndrome. While most things won't be as noticeable from a distance, a few that are obvious to anyone within line-of-sight are:
- Awkward posture and gestures
- Clumsiness and being unaware of one's surroundings
- Improper or awkward social interaction
If you desire to understand Aspgerer's Syndrome a bit better, click here.
Despite all the problems she has with social encounters, Lucy still loves to meet new people, although she prefer it be on her terms. She gets along well with just about anyone and cares for everyone she meets, even those who are mean to her or others, but that fact that she cares so much and doesn't know how to express it well or in an acceptable manner leaves her a lot of times not expressing anything.
Most persons with Asperger's syndrome have a topic that they are obsessed with, and Lucy is no different: she loves animals. Anything to do with animals makes her very intrigued and happy, be it playing with them or learning new information about them, if it has something to do with animals she gets excited...and usually loud. Most persons with Asperger's Syndrome have said obsession being rather narrow and focused (a single part of a toy as opposed to the whole), and once again Lucy is no exception: while she doesn't like being touched as much, she loves to feel the texture of animals, getting an idea of what it's like to be in their skin. She also is obsessed with the idea of building a relationship with an animal, as it seems similar to that of making friends normally, but with a vastly different being. Since she's so gentle and sweet, any animals she comes into contact with initially find her trusting and eventually end up befriending her in short order.
Lucy is a complete pacifist: she refuses to fight at all, so some question why she's even at Syne in the first place. She doesn't like harming anything, and that includes the Grimm, so she usually just keeps to studies and doesn't train physically at all. If someone picks on her, she doesn't fight back: she'll run away...unless she can't, then she''l buckle down and cry. If someone picks on her friends, she'll stand up for them by way of diplomacy and trying to diffuse the problem without violence, but she will not hurt anyone at all.
Lucy has found a new love for sweets: this was recently discovered when one of the scientists in her care bought her a lollipop for being well behaved. While she is normally seen with a lollipop when she does in fact decide she wants candy, she doesn't mind being introduced to new sweets and trying them. This branches out into another things she likes: things that are new. New people, new lessons, new information, new places, etc: If she hasn't done it before, she gets really revved up about it.
Lucy has very little knowledge of the volatile state the world is in, what with the conflict with humans and Faunus, and the Grimm. As far as anyone knows, she doesn't even know what the Grimm are. Her special AI Program and internet uplink are prevented automatically from being able to look up anything about conflict or strife, especially war and death. She is also not allowed to attend classes that would teach her anything about these things, and as such she doesn't get to attend any class that isn't purely about book smarts (math, science, English, etc)...save a few exceptions.
Last, but definitely not least, we have Lucy's most prized possession in the world: Mr. Floppsies. Mr. Floppsies is the adorable stuffed rabbit that Lucy carries around with her everywhere...and by everywhere, we mean EVERYWHERE: bed, bathroom, classroom, lunchroom, outside...he goes wherever she goes. Of course a lot of people see this as childish and probably just plain silly or dumb, but Mr. Floppsies keeps Lucy happy and calm...which is the ultimate goal. Whenever Lucy feels scared or stressed, she will hugs Mr. Floppsies to settle herself...in a very literal sense. Not only does this work as it would for the average person just to feel better, Mr. Floppsies is more than just a cutesy wutesy little stuffed bunny: he's a device that sends electro-pulses that soothe and settle Lucy's circuits. This keeps her from potentially going haywire and causes mass destruction, and it's all wrapped up with a cute little plushy cover. The metal device on his head has a bit of appearance of that of a small metal hat, and it's color changes depending on Lucy's current mood, even if she's not holding him or he's not on her person...which is very rare and not a good thing at all. If Lucy doesn't have Mr. Floppsies near by, she starts to panic and have a meltdown until she finds him, and nothing in front of her will be left standing until she finds him. The main reason for having his hat signify her mood no matter where she is at is for those who are her guardians to tell how she's doing, and a recent modification to him automatically connects with one's scroll to give a GPS lock-on of her current location.
Abilities
Aura type: Strength
Aura Color: Crimson (not seen very often, is rather offsetting to see)
Semblance: ABORTING PROTOCOL! RUNNING OFFENSIVE EXECUTABLE! ATTACK MODE INTIATED! (Transformation: +2 STR):
Make all the jokes you want about 'Obeying the first law of robotics' and 'Deleting the first law', but Lucy very much fits this if she actually becomes 'triggered.'
Now normally, Lucy is a sweet dear little android girl who harms not even the worst of persons, and many people love her and trust her and would never consider her a threat. Then there are those who know she's an android and find all the circumstances around her and the rather extreme measures taken to keep her in a state that's practically resident in a land filled with gumdrops and unicorns, and they wonder what in the heck makes her such a threat that such precautions have to be taken...and those people are on to something.
Lucy's normal form is not fit for battle in the slightest, outside of being made completely out of Zeticron, the strongest metal compound known to very few men. She has no weaponry, and the frame of a small younger girl is not a frame made for battle. This is all fine with nearly everyone, as she was never intended to fight or have to fight, however the one time she did have to fight...her IEL AI Program was heavily triggered and showed what it was capable of when it comes to aggression...by her turning into this lovely beauty.
- 'Triggered Form (Think it black and blood red in color, and grabbing hands)':
First created with grabbing hands and melee weapons, her first transformation quickly adapted to having bigger firepower. This transformation quickly rebuilds herself on the fly to become a 7' bipedal mech that is ready to obliterate her primary target. Still being built out of the same materials, just being more weaponized, and now willing to attack her power becomes much more significant: just her normal striking power goes through the roof. The transformation takes mere seconds, and the destruction that can be caused is...well, incalculable: she was powered down and had her limiters placed shortly after, and she has yet to have another 'outburst' since the initial incident.
It is implied that her IEL AI Program is able to produce any sort of transformation as desired if she were to become practiced with it, ranging from forms of transportation (car, boat, plane) and utility machines (generator, incubator, refrigerator) to modern weapons (tanks, assault drones, submarines) and other dangerous items (missile launcher, Hadron Collider, Chemical warfare). It's also implied that due to her limiters, should she somehow even launch her IEL in such a fashion, she would return to the exact state she was the last time she used it.
Item 1: Dual M61 Vulcans (Weapons):
- Spoiler:
Item 2: Zeticron Body (Physical Armor):
An invention made by her 'father' and other leading scientists, this is a combinations of metals and varies types of Dust that created a metal that is both stronger and lighter than titanium.
History and Sample
- History:
- Lots of people think of scientists are either stuck up nerds who think they are better than everyone, crazy people who are out to destroy humanity...or just don't think about them at all. Well, not every scientist is stereotypical, and there are those who are good people, as with everyone else.
Enter Sebastian Bartholomew Klug: a genius male bird faunus who loved nothing more than making advancements in scientific knowledge...outside his wife and daughter, Fiora Beilu and Lucille Annabelle Klug. They were a rather happy family, and they always spent enough time together, as Sebastian valued his family over his work.
Tragically, this would all end in an abrupt manner about 3 months after Lucille's fourteenth birthday, in which a local prison break holding hardened escaped in a nearby town and were fleeing and causing panic. Sebastian had been called out of town for a meeting that may have landed him a very hefty raise in pay, but that all fell through when he returned home to a ransacked town, a home and laboratory in rubble, and daughter and wife would had been violated and murdered in the wake of destruction.
Overwhelmed by grief and supported by fellow scientists who also lost love ones during the rampage, Sebastian rebuilt his lab. Staying true to his morals, Sebastian spent years looking a way to revive his wife and daughter, but every lead fell flat. Desperate, he conducted an experiment using a friends research and Dust along with his wife's corpse...but the results were rather unsettling and he quickly abandoned the idea of reviving his family back to the way it was before. However, he found another way...through robotics!
Over the next four years, Sebastian rarely left the lab. he worked day in and out so hard and consistently that even his fellow scientists were worried about him. He didn't pursue work or any goals outside of his focus to bring back his family, and it drained everything out of him. He was about to abandon all hope when, as with most discoveries, he stumbled upon it by accident: a portion of the research from a college that tossed due to the failed experiment to reanimate his wife wasn't wrong, it was just being used with the wrong focus in mind. Having new hope, he himself invented an artificial intelligence that was leagues ahead of what anyone would be able to produce in his lifetime or longer, he then decided to put on spin on it: giving the AI program instant access to the Internet at a whim, allowing it to learn and research at an incredible pace. He would soon dub it the code name PROJECT: ENLIGHTEN. He then took the excellent but misused portion of his colleagues research, a machine that when was able to influence the power of creativity and abstract thought process, enhancing ones imagination...properly named the Idea Engine.
Originally intending to be able to fund his other personal projects by selling his AI creation, Sebastian decided to make one last experiment: he wanted to know what would happen if he combined his PROJECT: ENLIGHTEN AI program with the Idea Engine. It took about a month to make a functioning prototype, but the results were mindblowing: the generation of abstract thought gave life and understanding to the AI program that went past a linear and logic standard. By itself, the AI would only focus on math problems or logic-based puzzles, but with the Idea Engine it began to form it's own thoughts and questions and formed a desire to learn about social issues and...it responded...emotionally to certain topics. Sebastian had accomplished the unthinkable: he had recreated the human brain! This new creation would be titled the Idea Engine Light, or IEL for short.
More years were spent in isolation, but this was due to eagerness and positive emotion, as Sebastian's goal was in sight. Finally, it was done! Sebastian eagerly pressed the button and watched in awe as the steam poured out and the doors opened from the make-shift cryogenic sleep machine...and a young girl with blonde hair slowly opened her eyes and stumbled out in a white nightgown.
'Easy now, it's been a while since you've had to walk. Now, what is your name?' he asked as he caught the girl before she fell.
The girl blinked a few times before responding in a very polite tone. 'Dearest Father, you haven't forgotten your own daughter Lucy, have you?'
'No...no I have not...and never shall I.' he said, shedding a tear as he hugged the girl tightly. 'Let us have a seat, for there is much for us to talk about.'
'Yes Father, I would love to chat with you, but I do first have a question: How does one perform "having a seat?"'
There was still much work to be done...
In just two short years, a lot had happened between Lucy and Sebastian: they learned a lot from one another, Lucy absolutely adored doing things with her father, she had been given a puppy (which she named Ruffles) that she loved and spent lots of time with, and the IEL was functioning perfectly as anything that Sebastian couldn't rightly explain to Lucy she could gather information from the Internet to learn more about...but most importantly, Sebastian through this new Lucy learned that no one could replace the family he lost, but he loved this Lucy for who she was and who she was becoming...this was his new family.
Unfortunately, it would seem Sebastian was not destined to maintain a family, as the government always seemed to get involved. The government had been in charge of the prison that had the breakout those many years ago, and this same bought-out government was keeping tabs on anything that could benefit them...and that included Sebastian and his works over the years. They knew about the Idea Engine Light, and they wanted to know about it's true capabilities...
As such, one night as Sebastian had just finished taking Ruffles for a walk, government agents showed up to take Lucy away as she greeted him at the door. There were lots of them, intimidation shots were fired, Sebastian was wounded, Lucy was in a panic...she had never witnessed true violence of this caliber before, and it was all happening too fast for her to process what was happening. They were threatening to kill her father unless she agreed to come with them, but her father demanded she not respond to them and go inside and hide in the basement. She was frozen in fear, and it was in that moment that Ruffles charged around the corner to defend his family. The poor pup wasn't trained for such a feat, but he got in some good bites on one of them before another shot went off and the poor dog dropped to the ground with a whine and was dead.
Lucy was crying in fear: she had never seen these men before, they were yelling, father was screaming and leaking red liquid from his leg, the men had metal objects that they kept pointing with force that pushed out smaller metal objects and made loud noise, and now her dog Ruffles was hit by one and wasn't moving. She fell on her knees towards him and went to hug him, but her father screamed again.
'LUCY! DON'T TOUCH HIM!' he pleaded, but in the heat of the moment, this would be the one time she didn't listen to her father. She reached out and placeStild her hands on her beloved pet...and her sensors picked up no trace lifesigns...but she didn't know what that meant. In her fear and haste to understand what was going on, she frantically used her Internet uplink to understand what it meant to not have lifesigns...
Still bodies, distraught families, pain, anger, flat-lined IVs, grief, depression, caskets, tombstones, crying, loneliness, wounded bodies, skeletons with hooded cloaks, explosions, red liquid, insides on the outside of the body, rows of lifeless children and women, bullets whizzing, organs splattering, rows of flags, mounds of dirt, bodies being put underground and buried...and it all meant being gone...gone for good, gone forever...never coming back...and to kill meant to remove someone's lifesigns...and they were going to kill her father!
Lucy emitted a high-pitched metallic screech that ripped through the night sky and increased in decibel as her eyes emitted a red light the grew brighter and brighter with each decibel increase.
Sebastian watched as the second girl he helped create and teach, the second little girl he loved so much, suddenly transformed into some sort of giant mechanical being who sliced, diced, shot, crushed...killed every one of the men sent after them in ways so brutal it made a man like himself who had seen many disturbing sights cringe. In what seemed like the blink of an eye, they went from being surrounded by threatening agents to being surrounded by body parts and blood. The minute he could muster the energy, Sebastian distracted and calmed Lucy down before she could possibly get any more out of control, and after burying Ruffles they decided to call it a night before he took the steps to handle the issue in the morning.
Word traveled fast, and the act of killing over twenty government agents without doubt brought even more highly trained ones to collect. Sebastian had no choice: he loved Lucy too much to let them do what they had planned. After speaking with her about it, she agreed with him about the best course of action: she would undergo a full reboot, wiping away everything she knew about her old life. By the time the agents got there, the process was already underway and interrupting it would only destroy what they were coming for. The agents took Sebastian away, as he would find usefulness elsewhere, but not before he had taken the time to call his colleagues to watch over Lucy.
Six months later, Lucy emerged back into the world with a bit of a different outlook on things: not only was she a clean slate, but the connection between her logical and abstract thoughts were a bit limited: her IEL had multiple limiters placed upon it, to prevent future similar events. It took a bit longer to teach her simple things, but after a year she managed to be function in society.
It was a rather sudden decision, but the team of colleagues agreed that Lucy should attend Syne Academy. Originally, the Syne Board was completely against Lucy's attendance of the academy: she didn't meet any of the qualifications and would be more of a hassle than anything...but when all the board members received letters and the academy budget was dramatically cut, they agreed to have her attend, and so did the extra funds. Soon enough, Lucy would be boarding the ships that would land her at Syne Academy!

- She heard lots of voices around her, all of them asking about her well being, and she noted that her entire body had met with the floor...again. She rose to her feet in an awkward and lanky manner, then dusted of her pretty blue skirt and picked up Mr. Floppsies and gave him a thorough dusting off as well. Then she looked up and smiled before she responded. Mr. Floppsies metal hat turning a shade of a light green.
'Assurance: It's okay, I'm actually doing quite well today! Follow-Up: Thank you all so much for worrying about me, but I am most definitely A-Okay!' she then opened her eyes and her smiled faded into a nervous smirk as she noticed everyone eyeing her they way the always did with the looks that made them look confused and bewildered. Mr. Floppsies's hat changed for light green to a peridot color as Lucy quickly dashes over to an empty table in the corner of the food court and took out her lunch and prepared to eat her homemade casserole sandwich.
