Overall Personality: Scarlett is certainly not what someone would call outgoing. Or brave. Or sociable in any sense of the word. In fact, much of the opposite is true. She’s quite terrible at talking to people due to her nervous demeanor when simply being around people, especially those that she doesn’t know. This doesn’t make interacting with people easy for her despite her utmost desire to change that about herself. But until then, she talks with a stutter that only increases with the stress of the situation.
Other than her terrible ability to socialize, Scarlett is a rather optimistic girl when it comes to most other things. And she truly believes that she can accomplish her dream of being like her grandfather and becoming a hunter. Said dream has been what she’s wanted almost her entire life and she will do what she can to see what fulfilled.
Abilities
Aura type: Spirit
Aura Color: Light Red
Semblance:Forge Goggles - Utility - Scarlett’s semblance is more subtle than many others. Instead of being able to control an element or have superhuman speed or power, her abilities are based around what she can see. Or, more specifically, enabling her to see more than she would typically be able to in whatever situation she may be in. When she activates her semblance, her eyes faintly glow with the same color as her aura. And when it's activated, she can see as clear as day in quite a few situations. Whenever her sight would have been obscured by things such as lack of light or a smoky room, it's like nothing was wrong. This really does help when needing to aim a gun at times, and certainly doesn't hurt when she simply needs to find a tool in a dark workshop.
Item 1: Ranged Weapon: Prism - This custom made handgun could be said to be Scarlett’s longest friend. With the same same icon on its body as the girl’s hairclip, it’s not entirely surprising to hear that it was made specifically for her use. The gun itself is an entire silver finish other than the flower symbol that glows when the gun is loaded and ready to fire. As the gun opens in the middle, it functions as a revolver so that dust can easily be loaded into it and then fired.
Item 2:Tier One Dust - Water
History and Sample
- History:
- Scarlett didn’t have much of a social life. That is, she didn’t have one at all. Her early life was mostly living with her grandfather in his rather secluded home. He was the only person that she ever knew enough to feel comfortable around. He was a hunter in his younger years and enthralled the young Scarlett with tales of his adventures during his youth. He was a man that was quite well respected in his field, but eventually found that the life of a hunter wasn’t the best to begin raising a family. Perhaps that’s what made the young girl want to become a hunter just as he was.
This desire certainly wasn’t ignored. In fact, it was encouraged by the older man as he gave her the tools to learn and master hunting just as much as he had. On her thirteenth birthday, she was presented with something spectacular. She was given a partner. A gun that used dust as ammunition, while not unheard of, certainly was special to the young girl. Her training began immediately following that, starting with learning every single piece and mechanism of the gun until she had it memorized and could put it back together from bits and parts.
Training for five years, Scarlett had done just that. She had no real experience with fighting, but she had spent countless hours training herself to have as perfect accuracy as someone could with her weapon. She had gotten quite efficient at it, so much so that her grandfather felt it was time for the next step in the young girl’s life. Formal schooling. With a letter of recommendation, the girl was surprisingly quickly accepted into the academy’s student body. Now sent off to Syne Academy, Scarlett is in a completely new environment, but still has the positive demeanor and drive to succeed.
- RP Sample:
- Scarlett was never allowed into her grandfather’s workshop, as he called it. Far too dangerous for a young girl. But recently, the days leading up to the girl’s birthday, the old man had been spending a considerable amount of time inside, more so than he had in a couple months prior. The young girl found this curious and had finally decided to investigate.
Scarlett crept up to the workshop door, a building that was completely separate from their house. Leaning her ear towards the door, she could hear the sound of a hammer hitting metal repeatedly. With every strike, an echoing ‘dink’ sounded off and only piqued the girl’s curiosity more. Biting her lower lip, she couldn't resist the temptation of finding out what was hidden from her for so long. She was so focused on figuring it out that she hadn’t noticed the hammer stopping.
The door suddenly opened as Scarlett was reaching for the handle. The young girl jumped in her spot, her face full of fear and worry, “S-sorry! I didn’t mean to! I was just… I was just…” she would say in a panic, trying to give her actions a reason.
Mister Winchester simply smiled at his granddaughter, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder, “Don’t worry, dear… in fact, I’m glad I could find you so easily. I have a birthday present for you.” he stated before turning to lead the young girl into the workshop.
It was certainly more than Scarlett could ever have dreamed of. Mechanical parts, weapons, and dust lined the walls, all organized with great care. Her eyes widened as she took in the sights before her, “Wow…” she sounded before her attention was brought to a box in the middle of the table, “What’s that one?” she asked with a tilt of her head.
The man laughed, “That, my dear, is your present. Go on, open it.” he urged. Scarlett only have a mild look of uncertainty to her grandfather before walking forward. Slowly and delicately, she removed the top of the box and peered inside. And what was sitting there changed her life forever. A rather large silver gun laid in the box, completely unmoving.
Scarlett looked back towards her grandfather, “R-really..? This is… for me?” she asked, hardly being able to believe it. The old man nodded in return along with a wide, proud smile.
Scarlett wiped her eyes on her sleeves to prevent herself from crying before embracing the man in a large gun, “Thank you, thank you, thank you!” she repeated quickly as she buried her face into the man’s shirt. Grandfather chuckled, resting a hand onto the girl’s red hair.
“It’s called Prism.” he stated with a smile, “But it’s not complete yet, you know. There’s still something that needs to be added…” he mused to himself before his eyes dropped to the hairpin his granddaughter was wearing, “Yes… I think that’ll do nicely.”
