The teacher was standing in front of the room; that teacher wasn’t Soyata no, but what that teacher said was a very… important thing. He was pairing people together so that they could learn about each other and maybe even fight. Although, the latter wasn’t needed. The teacher, after standing, said something, “Alright, Sami with Suzi, Gawain with Nikolaos~” It didn’t bother him that he was with someone that might not be as skilled as he in the way of combat, but hey, it’s something, something that might not even be boring. Maybe. Rarely. Probably not boring.

He had to think positive, maybe it was something that could be fun, something that isn't extremely boring. Extremely...extremely boring. Good thing if it was, his attention span wouldn't get that far. He couldn't be bothered about it, really, he couldn't. Why should he? He's here for fun, he really doesn't care.

Dressed in his regular combat attire, Gawain was sitting at his seat, having his materials laid out before him: his black pen lying next to his notepad, utilized specifically for idle talk or answers; his notebook dedicated to his classes, containing a dedicated section per subject; and his own working hands, flowing across his notebook to diligently take notes. However, as the professor started to call names for a little co-operation between students, Gawain shrunk for a second, only to start cleaning up his section of the classroom. Despite his desire to become more social, he still received insults now and then, only for him to hide away and eschew those he didn't know. This time, and almost every other time, he hoped that this Nikolaos was a kind, considerate person like Kayo, Severa, and a few others.

Making the first move, Gawain picked up his satchel, placing his notebook away as he tied his sword to him and picked up his notepad and pen; then came the approach to the student named Nikolaos. Having listened and paid attention to directed questions, Gawain found his way to his assigned partner, sitting down next to him as he gave a gentle wave along with a shy look on his face. Gawain didn't know what to say, so he waited, wondering what the boy thought of him and what he'd do then.

Atlas

Atlas
A boy walked over; this boy must be Gawain. He looks reasonable, maybe not Soyatas cup of tea, but still quite swell looking. He also noticed that he carried a sword as Soyata carried his staff, almost everywhere. At least, that was the assumption. When the boy got over, sorry, when Gawain got over there. Gawain was actually a bit taller than him, which surprised him, but he whisked away that surprise when Gawain said nothing.

“Not bad looking there Gawain, but anyhow. I’m Soyata.~” He actually slightly sung it, more so out of boredom than anything. He wondered what this Gawain fellow was like; being bigger than him he kind of hoped that the boy had skills. The skills that were required to be a master of the arts, however, there was a thing that slightly bothered him. For one to be dedicated to the arts, Gawain wouldn't be carrying around books right? Of course, this was assuming he was a practitioner of the arts.

Gawain Egret

Gawain Egret
Hearing the welcoming tone from the boy before him gave Gawain some kind of hope for a kind partnership between the two. Nikolaos, or Soyata as he preferred himself to be called, looked like a strong-willed individual based on appearance alone. The kind personality that Soyata showed could've just been to stay on friendly terms between the two, and Gawain was willing to accept that at least; Gawain just hoped that the two of them would at least stay on friendly terms or even become good friends with one another. And so, Gawain began on his reply, wondering how Soyata would reply to this sudden action. He was a kind person so far, but after this, maybe he'd change to a new demeanor.

"Hello Soyata. Yes, it's Gawain, and it's a pleasure to meet you.
Would you like to say some things about yourself first, or should I?"

With that small hello and a quick segue-way into their assignment, Gawain revealed his writing that lied on a blank sheet of paper to the boy in front of him; a calm, yet shy expression continued to lie on his face as he waited for a reply. He could already feel a few eyes from people that stood near the two start to gossip about how useless he was. It did make Gawain feel useless though, but he always ended up pushing ahead, not letting such dispositions take over. Even if Soyata was to do the same thing as the rest while Gawain believed him to at least be a friendly acquaintance, the mute boy would continue on, fighting back such oppressive forces with his heart. For now though, Gawain simply waited, wondering what his partner's next action was going to be.

Atlas

Atlas
The boy started to write down things on the paper, which interested Gawain. Was Gawain mute? Maybe. It was an interesting prospect; but he had to take care of something first. He looked over to those who were saying he was useless, and figured he had to do something if, anything, so that their conversation would go much... much better. He walked over to some of the people, leaned down, and bashed their heads together, and laughed a fairly small laugh.

"Don't make fun of him, I assure you, he's not useless; or would you like to call me useless, eh?"

He then walked over to the others and flicked them, and sat back down across from Gawain.
"Back to where I was, I won multiple martial arts tourneys, competed in hundreds, trained with the best martial artists and I have a fear of god of them if they were go come about and  arrive here."

Gawain Egret

Gawain Egret
Soyata was quite the considerate person, surprising Gawain with his sudden act of justice. Gawain's own impression of the once rugged student turned to a more lighter, kinder, and righteous student; although, Soyata didn't have to go that far and hurt them. Even though Gawain simply disliked others for being such bullies, attacking those who were disabled, weaker than them, etc. for their own reasons, and wanted to get back at them quite a few times, Gawain just didn't want to see anyone in pain. But, hopefully, after Soyata's physical demonstration, those bullies were going to leave Gawain alone and work on their own things.

Sitting down across Soyata, Gawain began on his reply after having heard Soyata's background on himself; Gawain thought that it would be nice to learn against someone who specialized in close-quarters-combat with just their body alone. Plus with the way Soyata spoke about his own skills and of his masters, Gawain thought that the boy was on a level higher than most others; however, that would be indefinitely be determined when Gawain would lay his eyes upon the strong-willed boy.

"Thanks Soyata, that was really brave of you to do. It means a lot to me. And well, I guess for me, I was trained, personally, under a junior academy professor. She was kind, in a way, and gave me a home when I was alone. She even helped me get to Syne. Other than that, my Semblance is still fairly new to me."

Finishing his reply for Soyata, Gawain passed his notepad to the new acquaintance with a calm smile, believing that they could possibly be friends in the end.

Atlas

Atlas
There were some immediate connections made in his head, like the Professor to Master Soyata. and Gawain to himself, just maybe a bit of different training. Like handwriting training considering that Gawains handwriting was far better then his own. Far, Far better; but then again he was probably a much better fighter then Gawain, considering the sheer amount of tourneys he has been in. If he would count, he's spent a full years time in tourneys, not counting traveling. That's a ton of time spent fighting, and he spent it all fighting and training.

He sighed, however, and responded; "What's yer sembalance? Mine makes me have wings so I can fly." He said it with pride in his voice, although there was an undertone of sadness as he knew indeed that he could not fly forever. It sucked, honestly, it did, but he dealt with it. He then though of another question, "Are... you mute?" While the question might seem insensitive, he had to ask just to be sure.

Gawain Egret

Gawain Egret
There was a slight smile with the sudden prideful statement about Soyata's statement. Gawain thought it was rather cute the way he said that his Semblance allowed him to fly; however, then came the obvious question --well, it didn't show up often based on the obviousness of Gawain's situation-- about whether or not Gawain was mute. To him, having grown accustomed to the daily comments about his condition, Gawain didn't care if this boy, who was rather kind and caring to this new person he never met, asked such a question. Gawain was more than willing to answer with a calm and happy smile as he continued a few lines below his last statement.

"Well, first of all, yes I'm mute as denoted by my having to write in this here notepad, but it's fine if you didn't get at first; some people think I just don't talk, because I don't want to. As for Semblances, yours sounds really nice and interesting. I'd like to see how you use it with your combat style. As for my own, I think it's better if I show you; it's hard to describe as I've only learned how to use it a while back, but I know how to generally use it."

Handing the notepad over to Soyata, Gawain waited for him to finish reading it until he signaled Soyata to keep his eyes on Gawain. Drawing his left hand upward, Gawain called upon his Aura and then his Semblance, being able to summon a Glyph before the two; it was white, holding an ornate design on it, and it was a little bit smaller than Gawain. Gently touching it, applying almost no force on it, it stayed there, having a small ripple effect across its area. With a small smile, Gawain turned to Soyata, taking the martial artist's hand and applying a stronger force on it, causing it to disappear a few seconds after contact. If Soyata needed more explanation, then Gawain was more than welcome to provide some.

As he saw the glyph disappear, he raised his eyebrow interested. With his suspicions indeed confirmed, he rubbed his chin. It was wierd for a boy to have been mute yet still go to this school, although it couldn’t be the wierdest thing he’s ever seen. He’s seen blind people who did death-matches, now that was something not safe for your health. he giggled to himself and questioned something. If he could break it with little force, image what he could do with his full punch. He shook that idea from his head, and smiled a broad smile.

“We should go outside if you want to see mine.”

He looked over at the teacher who gave them a nod, and he got up, and put out his hand for Gawain to grab it, If he grabbed it, he would lead Gawain outside and then ask him if he wants to fly. He’d give this boy a day to remember that’s for sure. He also felt slightly bad. If this boy had seen him in any of his death battles, he’d have an extremely different opinion. Soyata was a good guy, sure, but in battle he was a savage beast, a man who didn’t care about life or death. Did he fight to kill? Nay, not usually. That’s the thing, he fought and hurt his opponents, often breaking their legs and arms before going onto the head. You’d be surprised how tough some were.

Gawain was surprised at the sudden comment and hand gesture. Turning to the teacher, the mute boy was even more bewildered when the suggestion, for Soyata to have a personal one-on-one moment with Gawain, was approved. Staring at Soyata for a while, the boy just sat there, not knowing what to do. Going on a flying adventure sounded incredible, enjoyable at that, but Gawain just didn't have it in him. At that moment, he just didn't have it in him; Gawain just didn't feel like being the certain of attention in the midst of class. Maybe they could've gone after class, but right then, all Gawain could do was answer no, at least, with a smile on his face.

Soyata's motive in the suggestion was quite kind though, but instead, with them being in a combat class, Gawain decided that maybe it would've been nice if he could experience that instead. Soyata was a kind, caring, and strong-willed person who obviously fought for his friends; Gawain knew that they could be good friends with time, but for now, taking on their current assignment was beneficial to say the least. It would help the both of them was Gawain's thought as he began writing a response for his companion.

"Soyata, it's nice and all that you'd like to show me your Semblance out there, but, I wouldn't mind if you showed me through combat. I mean, it'll give me more experience with combat specialists such as yourself, plus I can help you figure out any new techniques you could do with your Semblance and fighting style."

With a quick stroke of the wrist, Gawain once more prepped his notepad for reading, giving Soyata a kind smile as he waited for a reply from the boy.

He frowned slightly. He even furled his brow, and then read the paper, and giggled.

"Do you want to do a hand to hand first or would you rather do weapons?" He pointed to the staff on his back, which he always kept there. He figured he could probably beat Gawain in either of those, but he had been wrong before. He remembered that one fellow who spouted things about Royal blood and had managed to beat him, but he had faith he could beat Gawain. Maybe not with ease, but he could still beat him without being injured. He was awfully amused.

Of coruse, the man was akin to a knight therefore it was very likely he was just as physically strong and druable as Soyata, although Soyata figured that Gawain lacked all of the training he had, which was quite a lot for anyone that looked in from the outside.

Apparently, Soyata was ready to spar with his partner just like that, even going to such ends as asking Gawain what kind of battle he wanted. As for the answer, it was quite simple as Gawain gently strapped his notepad back to the side of his sheath, drawing his sword in a simple manner as he brought himself to his feet. With a calm nod at Soyata, still holding a friendly smile on his face, Gawain approached the center of the arena, seeing that no one was using the space; however, as the spar drew closer as the two were soon taking their spots, there was almost a dedicated crowd to watching them fight. The entire class practically knew Soyata was incredible after his earlier display, but they didn't know how he was going to deal with his friend, the mute boy. Amongst the whispers and small talk though, Gawain ignored them all, focusing on the battle ahead; Soyata was a formidable opponent, and Gawain was most likely going to have trouble fighting against his opposition, but nevertheless, Gawain was going to fight with all his strength. If he didn't, then he'd only end up disappointing his companion, and Soyata wouldn't be able to give his partner any pointers. So, with a spin of the wrist, Gawain held his longsword with both his hands straight in front of him; one leg in front of the other and one slightly behind the other. A proper fight. Maybe today I'll understand those words. With those words lying at the back of his head, one of many drives as Gawain stared at his current opposition, Gawain knew that he was ready.

Soyata laughed, and with the subtly of a bomb, took his staff off his back and smiled. He wasn't going to go full-on right away, he had no idea the skill of his opponent. He then dropped his staff, took off his coat that he wore, and then took the pony tail out of his hair, making him look different. He grabbed his staff again, and shifted his stance into that of what people would call long front stance. One leg is out, front knee is bent, back leg is straight. Almost all ten toes are facing the front, the back foot toes are pointing off at a slight angle. Back is straight, leaning forward, yet with poise. it gave him decent defense while allowing him some level of offence with a poking attack. Very...very effective.

"Come on then, attack me. I'll let you have the first attack." He wasn't goint to bother actually doing the normal pre-match rituals.

Gawain Egret

Even as the two assumed their stances, Soyata calling for Gawain to make the first move, there was something strange about the fight ahead to the knightly boy. Soyata, someone who was so well-versed in combat who could practically run circles around half the people with the skills he claimed he had, was allowing his opposition to take the first move. Could it have been that Soyata was just testing to see what Gawain would do on the offensive, or was he just waiting for a perfect counterattack once his opposition closed in? As a tactician, an observer, a person who tried to plan ahead in the course of things, Gawain didn't know what was Soyata's motive in doing so, but with his ability to head the offensive, Gawain took the chance although warily.

With a slow dash towards Soyata, Gawain examined his every movement, checking spots in his experienced opponent's stance that he could strike from; however, as the boy drew closer and closer, there just wasn't enough time, to him, to find an error in Soyata's positioning, so he tried one thing that could work or fail miserably against a human opponent. With his sword by his side, Gawain dropped down to Soyata's side that wielded the staff, only for Gawain to raise his sword straight up at him; however, before the movement even brought the blade towards Soyata's staff, Gawain quickly pressed off the ground, spinning around as his body raised and his blade was falling down towards the other side of his opponent. What Gawain had done was a dangerous feint against a highly-skilled opponent, all to get in a surprise attack. Nevertheless, the boy committed to the tactic, and ultimately, he was ready to learn from the situation.

Soyata stood still, making sure to give anything away, and then as he saw the feint, the one he was waiting for. He could make him regret this, but what he did first is backflip out of the range of the feint, and almost got clipped on the heel by the blade, and as he landed, he thrust his staff forward, putting his whole body in it so that Gawain would sure as hell feel the blow if it connected. Soyata smiled, the smile glaring as it was, and he wondered what the other people were thinking. He then, as he was Soyata, had his brain almost turn off as he thought about other things, like girls, other weapons and, other things like that.

Soyata only smiled, and if it hit, would draw his staff back as quick as possible and hold it with both hands across his body as to make a defensive stance.

Gawain Egret

Gawain Egret
And just like that, what was an attempt at a surprise attack brought about by a feint was easily seen and dodged by the experienced warrior; however, not only did Soyata evade the attack with ease, with the experience he had, he was able to initiate a counterattack straight after. With no time to withdraw and evade himself, Gawain held his sword -one hand on the side of the blade, another tightly gripping the hilt- right in front of him, blocking the staff's head, but unfortunately, the force that was placed into the strike overwhelmed the swordsman, causing him skid backwards and lose his footing for a few seconds; just that one engagement showed the difference in experience between the two.

Having lost his rhythm, having failed a feint into an attack and punished for it, Gawain had to recuperate and find his thoughts quickly as Soyata took a defensive stance once more. That was the second time my feint's failed at this academy: first her, now Soyata. However, maybe it was just at the start that they're failing. It worked the second time against her, so maybe I just have to ease my opponent up so it can work, but... Gawain prepared a defensive stance this time, stepping back to gain some separation between the two. Soyata was indeed a strong opponent to Gawain, so, instead of going on the offense, maybe going on the defense was a better option; if he could at least pick out one attack and act on the moment, then he could possibly turn the tables in his favor.

Gawain adopted a defensive stance as well, and Soyata was refusing to let the heat of a spar get him into his normal battle mood, the sarcastic killer that he was inside, and it was tough. He was thinking though. Has Gawain dealt with Killing Intent from another person before? An interesting though, really it was. He decided to see how he dealt with killing intent from a human. There was, of course, the always there killing intent of Grimm, but compared to a humans? It was nothing. he decided to show Gawain what exactly killing intent was.

He shifted his stance. He shifted his feet so that they were perfectly in row, about 4 inches apart, and then turned his body so his entire stance was side-ways, and then took upon a smile unlike the one he had before. No, this wasn't a happy one. This was a very...very scary smirk that was sadistic at the core. He allowed it, he allowed the battle loving side inside of him to come out, and his stance switched again, to an unothadox one. This is the one Master Soyata taught him to use when trying to scare a man.

He went back to a normal stand, except now, his 5 foot staff was being wielded like a sword. This style? Purely to copy the one being used. He was wielding it like a two-handed sword, and planned on attacking on the priniple that he could switch when he wanted, but then decided to not use that stance...quite yet. He had no reason to scare an opponent by copying his stance, so he went back to the stance he had beforehand, the one in which he was sideways.
"This battle... it's starting to excite me!"

The teacher told kids to get away from the two, knowing that it was about to get quite... well, how would he put this? Quite intense.

Something a battle-worn fighter would notice, though, is that this smile, although sadistic, was also of pure pleasure that he was taking in the fight. The pleasure that he'd get from, as he pretty much knew, from winning the fight. He decided to say another thing.

"Are... you scared Gawain? I've killed many men. Many many men." A shake could be seen from Soyata, and the sadistic smie turned into a sardonic smile, "You can't speak, but I think that is exactly what exicites me. No banter, no nothing. Just cutting, quite literally, to the chase! But. I should warn you, if you take this lightly, I will kill you." He then stepped forward, keeping his stance, and thrust the staff forward towards what would be Gawains chest to see how he deals with this.
No matter if it hit or didn't hit, the, now sardonic, smile turned back to a sadistic one. This was going to get dangerous for both of them, and Soyata knew it, but he didn't care. He was in the mode he was when he did the fights to the death. The fights that was his life against others. This was a very dangerous state he was in, and he'd have to be knocked out or incapasitated in some way to even take the edge off, and then a little sleep. He made a mistake allowing this to come out, but he had it come out and dammit, he was going to see it through to the end.

Gawain Egret

Gawain Egret
Having taken a defensive stance, Gawain was more than ready to face Soyata's sudden attack, believing that the experienced warrior could've easily taken the spar in his favor; however, instead of facing a sudden barrage of strikes from Soyata, all Gawain did was stare and wait, watching his opponent's stance and then emotions change. To start off the confusing, yet almost fearful round of events, first came Soyata's side-ways stance, followed by the sudden sadistic look that made Gawain almost shiver, even causing him to loosen his grip on his sword. Something was indeed different about Soyata, reinforced by the sudden change to an unorthodox stance, and then back to his regular stance without even making an attempt to attack. Everything that Soyata did just then, it all made Gawain wonder who that person was really was. Soyata was kind, caring, and considerate before, but then as their battle began, everything, almost everything changed.

Every word Soyata said was in a different tone than their short time together. Every movement he made was absolutely new, and, in a way, they scared Gawain. The boy never faced such tactics before, so catching up to what was happening before his eyes was difficult. It wasn't until Soyata's mocking tone that Gawain realized that the crowd around them, the crowd that was just watching them seemed more distant than ever. Everything up to that moment was so different, so intense. Gawain was so used to orthodox fighting styles that Soyata's own technique was something new, strange, incredible, but also deadly. It took mere moments before the staff hit Gawain that he realized what just happened to him. Even as his eyes focused, his body tightened, his hands gripping his sword even harder than ever, Gawain felt some kind of fear because of the man in front of him. However, no matter how much fear, no matter how much damage, he couldn't back down. He came to Syne to protect others, to give hope and trust, to eliminate fear and replace it with courage in the hearts of many, and letting into fear wasn't apart of that regime.

Feeling the staff strike into the edge of his right shoulder, Gawain did his best to ignore the best, clenching his teeth for a counterattack. Gawain's body dropped and pushed forward, thrusting his sword, pushing all the way towards his opponent's chest. That man was strong, incredibly strong, but Gawain came to Syne to become stronger for others. Becoming stronger, to him, meant that he'd never yield to a stronger opponent, and, in a spar, Gawain'd give it his all to improve. Is this a proper fight, Yín?

Soyata...well, he did laugh as it hit. Tough fellow, honestly, the guy was. Under normal reasonings, men would have forfited or done something simalier. It was funny that he kept going, even when clearly outmatched. At least, that's what he thought. The guy, Gawain, couldn't be that skilled. Not compared to Soyata. Soyata had trained much more, done much more fighting. He saw Gawains grip loosen just the tinyist bit, and he smiled even more. This was going to be an amusing fight. A very...very amusing fight; nay. It wasn't a fight. It was a dance... a dance to the death.

He pulled his staff back, and crouching as he allowed his staff to fly past his shoulder. He then giggled again.

"Is this all you have Gawain?"

He felt the blade go across his shoulder, barely missing, and he rolled to the side, laughing some more.
"Come on. Try harder, this is getting boring."

He, since his staff was behind him, switched his grip to the very end, and swwung it hard at his opponents head, at Gawains head, this hit knocked a normal man out, and that's usually how he murdered people, breaking their head wide open, blood spewing slowly out. His smile was still sadistic, something that scared someone that was a veteran, but a real man wouldn't stop. A man would fight until the very end. Not just stop because he was scared.

"Are you Scared Gawain? ARE YOU?"

This swing, if connected, would be funny to Soyata purely because Soyata was having fun. It was an impossiblity that Gawain could win in his mind, and this wasn't because he was cocky, nay. This was because he was confident.

Just like that, as Gawain began his thrusting attack straight at Soyata, believing that he was going to hit the experienced warrior for sure, Soyata quickly destroyed that thought by ducking even more than Gawain had, only giving way for the swordsman's blade to gently graze off the edge of his shoulder. Even before Gawain could retract his blade, readying himself for a follow-up attack to continue pressure, Soyata quickly rolled out of Gawain's range, only to ready his staff for a quick and damaging attack. With Gawain surprised at the sudden maneuver, a sudden switch between offense and defense was enacted; however, even as Gawain readied his sword, pointing skyward, for a block, Soyata's staff was able to reach around in one sudden motion, knocking the swordsman to the ground as if he was lifeless doll. The block was clearly unsuccessful.

The staff hit against Gawain's head harder than anything he ever felt. The pure metallic surface struck hard and true, knocking the boy out as he lied on the cold surface of the arena. Gawain was unconscious, not knowing what happened to him; Soyata continued to shout and scream, but his opponent could not hear him. Only moments after Soyata succeeded in his attack, the side of Gawain's head ended up cracking open, causing a flow of blood to fall to the ground, first lathering his right eye in an ocean of red water. Any sane person would've stopped the battle there, but as a minute passed by, nobody brave enough to interfere with Soyata, the body just lied there with no one to come to its aid. However, to the surprise of many, as time passed by, the body eventually stood on its own, refusing to yield.

How long...How long was I out for? Why...Why is my vision clouded? Placing his right hand over the his clouded eye, he took a look at the reddened hand soon after, only to guess that he was bleeding, drastically at that. After the sense of sight came back, the sense of smell returned soon after, helping Gawain notice the bloody mess that he was; the blood seeped from his head down to his clothes as he stood there, looking straight at Soyata. After sight and smell, hearing was next as his eardrums started receiving the crowd's gossip, frightening messages at that. Next came taste; his mouth was dry, he felt dehydrated as if he hadn't drunk anything in days. Finally, the sense of touch returned to Gawain's body as he could perceive the total pain his head was in. His hand went to the wound, quickly covering it even though the blood still flowed, this time across his arm. Looking around for his sword, closing the visionless eye, and absentmindedly picking it up, Gawain was ready to fight again.

Despite his pain, despite the fact that he was a bloody mess, despite the fact that Soyata proved to be a much stronger fighter than Gawain, the boy refused to yield. Pant by pant, he took his sword with both of his hands, staring down at his opponent with one restless eye, determined to give the battle his all. Everything that Soyata said, everything that leapt from that warrior's mouth, it was either true or despicable. Gawain wasn't ready to give up against someone who was ready to fight until the end, and Gawain still had much to endure to reach the end. However much of a hero or an idiot, that was his choice and he stuck with it, preparing himself for one last attack.

As his body shined with a sudden white glow, Gawain stared at Soyata with a renewed dedication shown through his cyan eyes, his left hand was raised and tossed in front of himself as seven Glyphs appeared before them, surrounding the two of them. With a leap back, gripping his sword with as much strength as he could, Gawain was ready to go down in either victory or loss.

Landing on the Glyph behind him, Gawain pushed off of it with his feet, soaring close to the ground as he made one slash against Soyata. Pushing away from the warrior, Gawain repeated the process over and over, leaping from Glyph to Glyph, striking Soyata with every chance he could get until, finally, as each Glyph was dissipated and only the two warriors stood against one another, Gawain leaped away from Soyata and then toward him, readying his sword in his right hand as he tried summoning one more Glyph to allow one more jump; however, it didn't come. Each strike before took all of his strength, all of his willpower, all of his heart and soul, and now, as he was in the air, ready to boost off an invisible platform, his body fell, fell straight to the ground, and the glow slowly disappeared. And that was the end of the battle for the two, ending with Gawain's unconscious body. At least, he was able to face a strong opponent.

As he saw the boy go limp, he snapped out of it. He had taken it too far. He stood there for a solid moment, looking at what he had done. This wasn't a deathbattle. This wasn't something that required bloodshed. He then saw the boy get up, bleeding as he was. Soyata shook, this boy... he had such determination, such willpower compared to others he was fought. This was something he was unprepared for. He jumped forward, and Soyata managed to block the first blow, but the second, the third, he managed to block the 4th, then he got hit with the fifth and sixth, and he managed to block the seventh.

His knees buckled as his jaw loosened, and he dropped to a knee. This was his doing. He had done this many times before, but this time was worse then he had ever done before. This was a innocent boy that had challenged him to a spar. He had destroyed him, broken his skull open. He might have even blinded the boy in one eye. He felt enormous guilt. He wasn't supposed to do this.

He got back up and walked over to the limp boy, and with a tear in his eye, grabbed his arm and put it over his shoulder, and hoisted the boy up bridal-style.

"I will take him to the medical area, go about your time."

He broke out in a sprint, running as fast as he could even with his new cuts. They might not be lethal, but they did hurt. Not as much as Gawain was hurting though.

He arrived there, and helped get him into position so they could help him before he went out into the waiting room to await his fate, which would be that he'd be fine after a little bit.

OOC:Tis the end of the thread.
