He likes to practice his combat skills; not as much as he likes to read.
He loves to manipulate people, it's what he is.
Dislikes: Those who can keep up with them.
Those who say they are a god yet fail at doing things.
People who think they may be able to defeat him but end up failing.
Fears: He fears being forgotten by those he's manipulated openly, those who he took advantage.
He's slightly Claustrophobic to the point of slight worry when he can't stand straight in a room.
Catching an incurable disease; one he can't manipulate doctors into curing.
Overall Personality: He's a very interesting person. Why was he known by that name? Because, his lies were good and he had some tricks. The reason he was scary to the public? Well, that was fairly simple. Any one who visited him came out second-guessing everything they did, yet came out unharmed. This may because of one thing, one very important thing.
He's manipulative, making people always second-guess themselves is his specialty. Especially with his semblance, it messes with people. They think he can do magic, even though it's just his... trick? This trick made him scary, as he was often seen to an untrained eye, more powerful then he actually was. Hunters would detect that he was using a trick, and judge him, but non-hunters? Only the smart ones realized that he wasn't all powerful, but then got the end of his silver tongue. His tongue was by far, his most dangerous weapon. It was known, sure he could physically beat you, but that could be healed and earlier in life he had one mission, to see just how bad a day could go. As he knew, one could go very bad.
It could be said, to become like he that you'd have to have a very bad day. That's not why he's like that, nay. He was taught to be this way by his father, the most manipulative man he knows; beyond himself of course. Could it be said that he could have been taught honesty as well? Sure, he knows the good in being honest, but he doesn’t see the fun in it. He doesn’t see the fun in telling the truth. It hasn’t gotten him that far in life beyond one of the few times he’s told the truth. That he’d defend the city that one day. Because… you know, it was his city to hurt, to torture, not no grimms.
Grenal is a humanist on the dark side: someone hopelessly in love with cruelty, savagery and all the worst aspects of human nature with no qualms about witnessing or causing others' suffering. On top of this, he has a favorite quote.
"To live is not only to breathe, it is to act."
Abilities
Aura type: Recovery
Aura Color: Orange
Semblance: He can walk on surfaces most think not. Using his semblance, he can walk on water, and can walk up walls, but it has to be a solid or liquid to do so, he can not walk on gasses. This requires constant contact with the surface; with at least one foot. This is utility.
Item 1: His main weapon, the one any of his victims would remember, is his razor. It's a completely normal one, honestly.
His Razor
Item 2: The white shirt he wears is reinforced; allowing it to soften physical blows.
History and Sample
- History:
- He was born to a father who manipulated him from an early age and a mother who couldn't care less. He took lessons from his father about how to manipulate people from a very young age. His story really starts at the age of 10.
At the age of 10, he started going out and pretending that his father was injured and he needed money to pay for the bill. He got money this way, and it was good practice for manipulating people, he manipulated small, large, rich, poor; it didn't matter. No matter who you were, you were his target, and of course, this was just a side job, you know. His father worked an honest mans job, and his mother sat at home, neglecting him. It was also at this age he recived his first razor, he remembers the moment with clean and vividness.- Him getting his first Razor:
(This section is first person) I remember him coming forward and telling me that he must give me something. I figured maybe it was a fist, he was a fairly large man. I was keeping my cool, as whenever he did this, it was usually something bad, or something iffy realted to mother. It wasn't this time, I remember him going into his room and coming out with a white razor, and bringing it back out to me, and telling me it was mine. I was touched, and almost hugged him, but then he went back to mother and caring for that who*e. That sk*nk. She never cared for me, therefore I can call her whatever I wish.
Go forward to when he was 15, and he was becoming more so who he was today. He was even taking self-defense classes so that he wasn't go to be made a fool of. What kind of self defense? Pencak Silat which he went to every day, paying for it via muggings. He was careful, though, not to mug anyone who went to that class or the teacher. He, over weeks, became better then the rest. He even surpassed the teacher, who wave fairly good at it. He became scary by the age of 16, his skills. He did learn things like that fast.
He had been a murderer for years when he became 23, an expert at death and manipulation at this point. He had gotten the attention of a very skilled man, a man at this time, known as Mikael Coal had just gotten back from being a teacher. At first, he didn't know who the man actually was, just that he was extremely skilled. Much more skilled the the rest, at least, that's what Grenal thought. In fact, he vividly remembers what he originally thought of Mikael, now Aaron Coal.- What he first thought in first person:
I remember when I first got wiff of him. It was an interesting thing due to the fact that I had eluded every other detective that had come at me, and I hoped that he'd have came to me. I remember pulling out books, talking to connections, and I came up with many things. Like the fact that he's extremely skilled; bitter and sour, and yet he came back to the work. Maybe he's like me. It's the only thing that I'm good at, so it might be the only bloody thing he's good at. No one would tell me that though, so I'd have had to find him and judge him myself, see if he truly lived. See if he acted and moved, instead of just breathing.
He had worked with people inside the force to... suggest to Coal that he should. He wasn't sure if that did anything in the end; but what he did know is that Coal was put on the case, and he knew he had to do something. So, he started more killing. The locals knew exactly what he looked like, as it wasn't like he didn't leave some alive. This is far after the self defense classes, so he no longer had to worry. In fact, when he was informed, he had a man cowering in front of him. The irony of him in the middle of murder when the man starts looking for him.
He smiled as he heard this news, and told the man he was murdering to run. Tell PI Coal some new info. Make sure it's all correct. Very basic info. Skip ahead 2 months of cat and mouse, death and despair.- The face off.:
They stood on a roof-top. Grenal and Coal staring at each other. The two knew that the other was dangerous. It was funny, Coal had caught him in the middle of a murder. So, he had to speed it up, and had gotten blood all over his clothes. He didn't look the best, and was bothered by it only a smidge. He knew he'd have to keep his razor out. He also knew he didn't stand much of a chance if the things hit him; he's seen what they can do. They make you pass out like no other. He saw Coal bring up his gun, and fire the first bullet, which he ducked.
"Coal, you know you're the first one that has cornered me?"
Coal kept silent, with a glare and a frown, and shoot 3 more times, with one of them hitting, and the effects fully showing on Grenal. Grenal wouldn't go down right away though, but he did drop his razor when Coal ran up to him. The two started to trade blows; with Grenal dodging more then anything. If this were a normal fight when Grenal hadn't been hit by a bullet that was close to a tranquilizer but more advanced. Grenal threw a punch that landed square in Coals nose, but was then thrown over Coals shoulder and punched in the face as well.
"Shut up."
The punch had broken Grenals nose, but he wasn't finished yet. He kicked Coal in the gut before getting up, the shot clearly taking effect.
"Tell me. What makes it all so worth it?" He went in for a kick, which was countered, and then he was punched in the face again, and then turned on his back, and he could feel the handcuffs around his wrists. He was beaten. It then started to rain.
The next year in jail went well, until he broke out, and wasn't caught. He then caught wind of Coal leaving after changing his first name, so Grenal followed him just to spite him, but hasn't contacted him since.
Any attempts to connect him to that have failed.
Him during the face-off
- RP Sample:
- He looked the man in the eyes, his golden eyes unmoving. He had no reason to pull out his razor, nor did he have any reason whatsoever to talk. His stare was unnerving enough to the man that he was shaking. It could be said that the aura, the presence of Mr.Black is a scary thing but it isn't. It really isn't. The reason he was scary was because of his sly smile that just casually went on his face, and his posture, the thing about Mr.Black was that he didn't have to speak. He just looked at you, and talked with his eyes if you get the idea.
When the man didn't move, Grenal went into his pocket, and pulled out his razor and walked forward. He had no reason to kill the man, it was just for the fright factor. He opened the razor then, and put it up to the mans neck, and the man moved. The man must have known that Grenal would have sliced his neck open.
