Overall Personality: Like his namesake, Clay loves molding things into whatever he wants. He spends a lot of his time tinkering with new gadgets and machines yet always has time to spend time forging masterful weapons such as his spear; Gungnir. Straightforward and steadfast, derailing him from anything, whether it is a conversation or a jump attack, seems to be near impossible. Clay was always encouraged to never be limited by what the world around him sets around him and he has followed that to the letter. Few schools are able to hold him for long because he constantly breaks rules without a second thought. He recognizes that this habit of sheer freedom isn’t always a good thing and finds himself frequently apologizing to everyone for something he didn’t even know was wrong. After all, he only harbors the best of intentions.

History and Sample
- History:
- Found in a junkyard not too far out of vale, Clay was always been a weird one. Orphaned without ever know his parents at the age of 1, most likely to him being a half-breed Faunus, Clay’s only family was the engineering couple in the junkyard at the time scavenging for parts. Not being able to conceive their own child, they took Clay back to their home as their own child. By the time he could think for himself, he went back to that junkyard as much as possible hoping that one day his real parents would come back for him, but, with no avail, they never showed up. While waiting, he spent his time honing his skills with machines and even built his own forge. It got to the point he was able to open his own store at the edge of town.
When he was around 16, the White Fang came by the junkyard looking for him, knowing that he wasn’t too popular with the humans in town. They asked him to make them a strong weapon. Not knowing any better, he happily went along with their wishes and created a one powerful enough to destroy an entire building in one blast of dust. Later in the week, Clay was up late at night working on a new project when he heard a commotion. When he looked toward the town, he saw a familiar bright light. He grabbed a spear he had fashioned earlier in the week and ran toward town. His fears came true when he saw the weapon he made for the white fang being turned on the people of Vale. The emotions he felt were numerous; fear, anger, sadness, and worst of all, pride. He hated that he was proud of building something capable of such destruction. In his rage, he took out the entire white fang group who came to him earlier in what felt like an instant.
5 years later, Clay still looked back on that day as if it were a nightmare. He would try to think of what happened after finding white fang members in town, but until he woke up the next day, it was all a blur. The officers told him what they saw looked like some sort of blood-rage. Since then, Clay rarely left the junkyard. One day, a young, cat-like Faunus girl shows up in the junkyard. She tells him of a place he can still make the weapons he loves without them being used for evil intentions. Finding some faith in what this girl said Clay found himself on his way to Syne Academy.

- “Why do you look so sad?” the curious Faunus girl asked. Clay looked at her with a scowl made of stone and said, “What is there to be happy about?” The girl looked at him in confusion as if what he said made no sense to her. Clay went right back to his work, hoping that she would just go away. “Do you need a reason to be happy? Why shouldn’t you be?” Clay rebutted in anger. “BECAUSE EVERYTHING I MAKE CAN ONLY HURT OTHERS!” Intimidated by his screaming, the girl jumped back a bit. “Sorry.” He said, “All I want to do is make weapons without causing others problems. I suggest you leave. She walked towards him and said with a smile, “Why don’t you just come with me to Syne Academy?” Clay was surprised that she seemed so cheerful after his outburst. “What’s Syne Academy?” he asked her. “It’s a place where you can do what you like while training to be hunter for good; a home for children like us who never really fit in.” Still in shock, Clay was just standing there imagining what it would be like going there. The only words out of his mouth were, “What’s your name?”
Before the girl could say more, the hat on Clay’s head fell off to reveal his dog ears. “EEK, A DOG!” the girl screamed. She ran off not to be seen for a while. Clay took to heart what the girl had said. To be in a place where he can be himself and make the weapons he loved sounded almost too good to be true. Didn’t take him too long to pack his bags and head off to Syne Academy.
