The pink haired faunus nommed on her chocolate bar as she wandered the streets. She was still quite undecided about the whole thing, but figured it wasn't a big deal since it still wasn't raining yet. In fact, a lot of people seemed to think it wouldn't rain for awhile. Which explained why as she rounded the corner, she saw up ahead what looked like a very large marionette puppet show with the biggest crowd she'd ever seen gathered around to watch it. This caught her interest, and she raised her cap enough to scratch her cat ear as she examined the scene.
From behind her, she heard a boy. "Pst. Would you like to see the show closer? A girl your size could never get a good view from here and I know the best place!" came the voice. She looked down to see the boy, and hesitated answering. Was he suggesting something illegal? "Um..." She looked back up. She supposed she did want to actually be able to see what must be life size puppets. "Sure," she nodded. "That's very nice of you. Do I owe you something?" "Nah." the kid answered simply, walking in front of her happily. He entered an alleyway, which Veta found odd. "Um... isn't the show that way?" "This is the best way! You'll have an amazing seat!" Frowning, the faunus followed the boy.
When they got to the darkest part of the alley, she saw something move. Her faunus eyes picked up far more than the human before her had seen, and her faunus ears heard the man stepping out behind her. Ducking, her spear was in her hand in an instant and as it extended, the lower part of the shaft slammed into the man's stomach. He doubled over as another two she had already seen moved to help. Had the boy led her into a trap? One of them swung a heavy club at her, and she dodged - if only barely. The club caught the bill of her hat and it flew off, revealing her faunus ears in a flurry of pink hair that came down to her shoulders as she righted herself again.
"It's one of them hunters from the academy!" one of them shouted as he backed away. The other attacked her anyway, and recieved a spear shaft to the back of the knee as a result. He tumbled over and she thwacked him in the head to knock him out. Simple thugs were no match for the huntress in training who'd slain a deathstalker not too long ago. Her shield extended as his outraged friend regained his courage, and his own club bounced off of it. She kicked him in the stomach, and he let out a breathless cry as she thwacked him in the head as well. With all three thugs unconcious, she put her spear and shield away, and bent down to grab her hat, putting it back on.
The boy was nowhere to be found. "Huh. Maybe they put him up to it." she decided with a shrug. Turning around, she left the alleyway the way she came and re-entered the crowd. She was closer now, at least. Close enough to notice something strange - one of the puppets looked exactly like that pig-headed jerk who had framed her for stealing!
She forced her way through the crowd now, not worried about being polite. Most people weren't upset enough to try and stop a 16 year old girl from doing so, and the ones that were weren't fast or maneuverable enough to do so themselves. Finally, she got to the front. "Wow." The puppet looked just like him. Too much like him. She walked right up to the stage and put her hands on it, still staring. It couldn't be... could it?
