History and Sample
- History:
- Coby was raised in a coastal village, with sea on one side and forest on the other. His father was a huntsman while his mother stayed home. Coby's young life was often filled with fishing and exploring the shores and unrestricted parts of the forest. Another part of young Coby's childhood was hearing stories from his father about his and other huntsmen and huntswomen's adventures. These stories were inspiring to Coby, and led him to his initial goal of becoming a huntsman himself. At the age of 6 when his father saw Coby practicing, his father decided to start training Coby. After a long period of experimentation with different weapons Coby finally settled on a trident, training trident for safety purposes. During his time off from adventures, Coby's father would train him to fight with the trident. When his father was out, Coby would practice his maneuvers and forms with the trident. A couple years of training later, as Coby had gotten stronger and bigger, His father gifted him with an actual bladed trident. They now started to practice sparring, as well as go hunting for game such as rabbits, deer, etc. in the nearby forest. As more time passed, Coby's father taught and started training him to use aura and eventually found his semblance. When Coby was 13, the year before he was going into one of the local academies, his father got called out on an emergency. A month went by and Coby trained and hunted as he usually did. A second month passed by, and Coby's father came back. However unlike how things normally went, Coby's father was accompanied, and his father was in a chair. His father had lost his lower legs to a very hostile Grimm while defending, so that the rest of his team could safely escape to successfully execute a backup plan. Knowing this as well as that his father would never be able to train with him again, gave Coby new purpose. He wanted to become someone that could protect what mattered. He trained hard all throughout his years at the academy. Improving his trident fighting technique, as well as his use of aura and semblance. Until he finally was able to test and enter into Syne Academy. Upon his acceptance, his father presented him with a new trident, one fit for a huntsman. And thus he started his journey.

- The sun shone nice and brightly over the shores and waters of Coby's home village. Coby sat atop one of the dunes looking out upon his home. "Two more days home." Coby said. "Then I start a new chapter. Who will I meet? What adventures will I have?" He said in wonderment looking towards the sky. He shifted, leaning back upon the dune still looking up at the sky. He closed his eyes for what seemed a moment.
He opened them again at the sound of his name being called. "Coby!" he heard his father's voice. Coby sat up and looked towards the sky. From where the sun had been, he might say maybe an hour passed since he shut his eyes. He looked over to his father who was sitting in his chair on the nearby dock. "Yo, Pop!" he yelled sliding down the small dune. Coby hopped up onto the dock. " What did you need?" Coby asked. His father held out a box about two feet in length. " I wanted to give this to you before you left." His father said. " Go on, open it." His father encouraged. Coby lifted the lid from the box and took out what looked to be a two-foot long, blue and yellow colored rod. Coby's eyes lit up. " Is this what I think it is?!" Coby asked taking a few steps back. He pressed a button on the side and the rod shot out into a seven foot long trident. Absolute glee was on Coby's face. Coby twirled the trident and brought it to a stop, slamming the end of the shaft down on the dock. "I wanted to give that to you a little early so you had time to get used to it." His father said. A wide grin creased across Coby's face. He pressed the button and the trident retracted to its carrying size. Coby ran over to his father and gave him a hug. " Thank you!" He said. His father chuckled " You'll make us proud." He said. " I just know it." His father smiled.
