Hectic Halloween

This was the thirteenth tree Richard had crashed into tonight, surely a bad omen both for him and the trees, but soon he’d be in the city then he’d be running into lampposts instead. He quickly checked over his mask for cracks and dents but found none. Brushing himself off he found his way to the clearing. Now came the tricky part, dodging people. He could just take the mask off but wouldn’t that be giving up? Besides, he thought to himself, it was too much bother putting this thing on let alone taking it off. They probably wouldn’t give him the candy if he wasn’t in full costume anyway. He could make out the massive crowd in the centre of the clearing, crowded around the booths. If only he’ been lazy and stayed in bed, reading horror classics, then he wouldn’t be dealing with this. He stumbled onward and hoped for the best, making his way to the various candy dispensing stalls.
