Arrwyn Ellavir

Arrwyn Ellavir
Arrwyn glanced at her scroll once again, not sure if she was really in the right place…The message had been clear from the school’s administration. She was supposed to be meeting her team, one which had been randomly selected for her in order to solve an issue within the school. Specifically a lack of proper teams forming within the school. While the school generally left team formation to the students, unlike many of the other academies the school needed to occasionally step in apparently. Arrwyn didn’t mind too much, as long as she got to be the leader it wouldn’t really matter too much.

At current she was supposed to meet her new teammates within a recroom of the dormitory building, smushed between the sides that held the male and female dorms. She didn’t really know who her teammates were, but the time assigned was one in which the recroom was little used, and the room had been essentially reserved for them anyways. So it didn’t really matter.

She adjusted her top a bit, making sure it was low enough to attract a bit of attention, but not too much. She hoped she got someone cute, male or female didn’t really matter near as much to the noble girl. But if she was going to be stuck onto a team at random then at least she hoped she’d get to have a little fun with it. She was currently in her normal huntress attire, as she had been hoping to get a bit of practice in later in the day anyways, Her sabre sat on a pool table below her, as she sat with her legs crossed In a seat beside it. The girl had her scroll out at the moment, looking through some reading suggested for one of her courses as she waited for the rest of the apparent team members to arrive.

Only a few days in and the mind was already popular it seemed... sort of... getting a text from the academy's administration was certainly a change from the usual dullness that he had found himself in on school grounds. In a way he expected the place to be pretty extraordinary, but it was an expectation set way too high it seemed. Carmine glanced at his scroll as he paced the dorm halls, the message clearly stating to meet in the recreational room to 'meet his new teammates' and whatnot. If anything judging from such a message to him there was a problem with teams before. The mind shook his head before he found a door with a sign on it, one with the proper indication of the recreational area. With a calm, fluid motion, he grasped onto the knob, turning it and then finally pushing the door open as he had walked into the room itself.

It was then that Carmine found himself seeing someone new -which in itself was a given seeing as he hadn't really seen a lot of faces around the school grounds. It was a lady, one that had seemed to have been waiting around as well. There was an unsureness in the mind that this one was here for the same reason as he was, but it was better to approach to see if it was so rather than to wait eternally for others to come about under the same reasons. Of course he was in his typical attire, flow-y attire and all. In a way he had wished that he had found a little more restrictive version of what he had, or at least a version that was just a tinge tighter.

"Oh hello there, miss." the mind has spoken with a wave, his hand moving back to brush away a rogue strand of hair before he continued. "I don't suppose you were told to be here too, yes?" If it was that the lady also had a message to be in the area, well it would have been a rather fortunate thing. If she wasn't, then well he had someone else to talk to in the meantime while everyone else was being assembled in the recreational area.

Iris Sterling

Iris Sterling
Iris received a message telling her to go meet her fellow teammates. Iris found it somewhat unusual. Weren't teams normally formed by the students? The message stated that there'd been team issues in the past so the school sometimes stepped in. She hoped that her teammates would be willing to work with her. Iris was used to people avoiding her and not having many friends among her peers. Even some of the professors at her previous schools had found issues with her, but usually the professors were more likely to accept Iris than her fellow classmates.

Iris walked down the halls until she found the room she was to meet her teammates in. She was hesitant, but steeled herself and opened the door anyway. Inside she saw a lady waiting as well as man with elegant, flowing attire. Iris herself was wearing her usual heavy armor as well as various iron weights on her body to provide extra resistance to train herself as she walked around.
She grabbed her sketchbook, and was about to draw, but reconsidered. Although Iris had never been good with words, or rather, people rarely understood her words, Iris felt she needed to at least try talking.

If these people were to be her future teammates, she needed to be able to communicate with them. She took a deep breath, looked into the eyes of the people in front of her and spake her name. It was the first time she'd talked in a long while

"Iris".

It felt foreign, having a word roll off her tongue, and the sound of her own voice puzzled her. Her voice was soft, and sounded .... pretty, like bells chiming. It was nice, it felt good to finally say something.

Merlynn was in her room when her scroll chimed a tone it hadn't in a long time, the doe knew what it meant and she draped her head in tears. "not again...." taking a look at the scroll her fears where true, she was assigned to join a new team and her memories of her past teammate washed over her likes a flood before her eyes laid 6 shadowy figures that all disappeared once she wiped her eyes. But as she was walking on a tight line between expulsion and staying in school she figured it would be best to humor the school's wishes.

The doe had suited up into her neoprene suit for combat that snugged her body, she worked out the air bubbles as it glued to her skin for almost perfect fit, the suit was getting worn out from her consent scuffles with other student and grim. Next, she took great care of covering the large scar running down her left leg, the thigh-high that covered the scar acted just like the suit as it adhered to her skin making it difficult to slide. by the time she was finished dressing her self she had figured the others would have gathered by now and her expression was not blank enough that her earlier sadness could be hidden with ease.

Merlynn made her way to the recroom where they where meeting as she went to open the door she could feel her pain hold her back, forcing herself into a fit of anger and slammed open the door with force. the sound would echo in the hollow room and the doe would be standing there with a look of anger as she walked in her heeled boots clicking on the floor her attire left little to the imagination as she looked at all three of them, she looked them all over and crossed her arms. she had already figured that she might be the muscle of the team just by looking at them. there was pretty noble looking women must have been a quick fighter, she probably the speed and damage of the group much like herself, another female clad in armor that was an easy one to figure out, but the other one must have been more a dust major just by his dainty looking appearance. "so I guess I'm with you three." her voice was that of a scored women like she's been through this more then once, her tone could come off as cocky. But besides that, her voice was mature to the ear.

Arrwyn watched as a guy in white robes came in first, he looked somewhat handsome in that kind of nerdy bookish way, it was a bit unfortunate his clothes were a bit too loose for her to really check out his body, but he at least seemed to be cute in a way, and the mysterious stranger shtick certainly had its appeal, still he didn’t seem like he’d react to her teasing much unfortunately.  There was something slightly familiar about him, but the blonde-haired noble couldn’t peg it much. He didn’t look all that much like a physical fighter though…maybe a medic or something? Or a duster.

“Yeah, and it looks like we get some alone time too” She stated with a smirk, before the door opened again to reveal Iris as their next teammate to arrive.   Arrwyn grinned at the armor-clad girl, giving her a wave.  The armor wasn’t as dull as the outfit she’d previously seen the artist in. “So much for alone time, unless Iris wants to join the fun.” The blonde gave the girl a wink, and her tone suggested more than any sort of typical team building activities were on her mind. Though there was more to her teasing than that, even considering that it was mostly to simply amuse herself.  One could learn a lot about people by making them uncomfortable or seeing how they reacted to unexpected behavior.   But mostly, it was for amusement.

Arrwyn turned her attention back to the guy wearing the robes, not noticing the door opening quite yet.  “I don’t think we’ve met, Arrwyn Ellavir.”   She introduced herself, loudly enough that everyone in the room had likely heard the name before noticing that someone else had entered.

The final member of their team arrived, and Arrwyn was visibly staring when the girl walked in wearing a skin-tight leotard type outfit. Letting out an appreciative whistle and not bothering to hide the fact she was checking out the other girl.  “See, she looks like she wouldn’t mind having some fun.” The noble girl stated, grinning at the display.  Her grin vanished briefly when she noticed the antlers on the girl, though she managed to replace it with a less believable smile a moment later.   She didn’t really think about the possibility one of her teammates might be a faunus, and the noble girl couldn’t help feeling more than a bit of distaste at the idea even if she didn’t show it.

The fact the girl was wearing skin tight clothes made it so she could almost ignore the feelings she felt towards faunus, most of all herself. Arrwyn did manage to regain her composure enough though her slip might have been noticed had someone been paying enough attention to her. The noble girl did at least make some effort to maintain her friendly demeanor, figuring they'd still have to work together if they were on a team.

Certainly the mind had encountered one of the more forward residents of the academy itself, or at least one of the many flirts that had decided to attend. Quite frankly he wasn't surprised either; with there being a generally even chance of such things and whatnot. Either way Carmine remained somewhat stone faced to the little bit about alone time, he wouldn't be looking too forward to it if he could imagine the endgame results of such activities were to have taken place. "Maybe later, miss..?" A maybe of an answer was the compromise to such a thing to have been put out. Either way her words had conveyed a confirmation to his query about the message. He would have remained adamant on his pseudo-answer of maybe.

His head turned towards the sound of the door opening from behind him and what he saw was certainly an anomaly of what he would have expected of anyone visiting the recreational area of the dorms itself. What he had came upon was a lady clad in armor that had seemed to be somewhat heavy if he could judge -and the weights gave him the impression that the person wanted to be heavier... or at least train to better handle heavier armors. Either way the anomaly of the recreational room had stood out from the other inhabitants, quite like how the mind had imagined himself to seem. If anything the rather armored lady had seemingly painted herself as a person of few words, and one that the flirt had appeared to recognize as well. His opinion of his possible teammates as well as roommates so far was a mixed bag; the quiet one seemed wonderful to room with, but the flirt may be a little more than he could handle... or at least tolerate -but that's the risk of research he supposed.

Either way he had an answer to the lady's name, and it left him with a weird sense of recognition in the vaguest sense of the word. No matter what that last name however was rather familiar to the mind, he couldn't quite recall exactly what there was about it, but it sounded vaguely atlesian if his memory could have assembled the puzzle pieces of the origin. He might as well have gave his name, it was the most he could do in terms of receiving the lady's own. "Carmine Azorious Lysander. Pleased to meet you, miss Ellavir… And you, miss Iris." He took to his usual formalities as he did so in informing the fire-like personality that was Arrwyn -and the seemingly water-like personality of Iris- of his name.

It wasn't soon until Carmine had heard the door slam open to the arrival of someone else, the sound itself resonating throughout the recreational room itself. If anything it sounded like the happenings of someone with a particularly bad day. With the sound he had turned his head back to the new person that had entered the room. The one defining thing that the mind could pick from this one person -aside from the rather clingy bodysuit they had- was the antlers she had possessed. The mind didn't know why, but the lady seemed to be somewhat cocky too, which made him rethink the door opening as well; maybe it wasn't one of anger... who really knew though, right? Carmine hummed in a query-like fashion as he had decided to greet the lady as well. "I suppose we are, miss...?" He spoke to the faunus with as much respect that he could have -all at the same time asking of her name.  He had his hands clasped together at the time, perhaps expecting an answer from the antlered lady.

Iris Sterling

Iris Sterling
Iris was startled when the door slammed open, and although the deer-lady that had just walked in seemed pretty self confident on the surface, something was off about it. Iris could see it in the lady's eyes. Her eyes looked dull and lifeless, they looked tired, as though the world had worn her spirit away. The girl's voice spoke of her experience, and it certainly seemed it hadn't been a good one.

Iris was used to being alienated due to her keen ability to read people, but she also just couldn't help standing still when she knew someone was hurting. Iris hesitated, but walked slowly up to the woman.

It was one of those rare times that Iris actually acted before thinking, and words tumbled out of her mouth before she could feel that usual fear of speaking, of people teasing or being upset by her words and the way she spoke them. It was one of the rare moments of Iris being able to be herself, and it was moments like these that she usually ended up shocking people and causing them to turn away.

"Life hasn't been kind to you, I can see it in your eyes. I would ask if you're alright, but I can see that you aren't. Just know.... you don't need to suffer alone or hide your pain and act as though you're okay...please rely on us...". As Iris finished talking she could feel a tear slowly making its way down her face. How long had it been since she last spoke to a person so openly? It'd been years since she'd talked more than a few words to anyone besides her own family.

Immediately Iris began to regret it. The last time she'd said something she'd been beaten up pretty badly. Just remembering it, Iris began to shake a little.
"I-I I'm sorry I-I won't say things like that again... so p-please don't hurt me."
Soon the waterworks were fully working. Even while crying though, Iris was as quiet as ever, the tears running down her face but her voice still as soft as ever. Iris backed up and crouched down on the floor in a ball, hugging herself. Her fear had kicked in again, and her speech was back to what it usually was.
"so sorry.."
"memory bad"
"scared..."
"no hurt please, just want to help"

merlynn

merlynn
There was alot to take in for a first meeting for Merlynn as she rubbed her temple as she looked down at the crying girl in a tin suit. "You're more fragile then you look it seems." She made it point to step over iris with a healthy clack to her boots on the other side of her. with a faint blue hue, Merlynn disappeared to ended up in a seat near the other two with her legs crossed and her head rested, on one hand, that was pressed against her temple eyeing them both up at the same time.

Her attention was now on the noble-looking girl who did remind her of her younger years and didn't bring it up because of those where her bitter years. The tin can was right Merlynn had seen a lot over her years here and this was the third team she was assigned to. "catcall all you want.... the last one here I would do is you~." she added some sting to it at the end in her tone looking wyn up and down. "I Guess from the looks the regal and uptight looking outfit your the one who wants to be the leader... Don't make a call that could get you all killed." the tone was what one could be called ominous sounding. merlynn showed no motivation of threat now as she leaned back in the chair she was now sitting in. her hand away from her temple looking to the next target of her stress this day.

"Abigail," she mentioned as she looked at the man more in a medical, or nerdy like suit. "From the looks of you and the scent from your clothes you're a dust bunny. so can we expect to see some interesting stuff out of you at least if you can handle combat that is the last duster I met was a top grade fighter outside of grim fights." she then sniffed the air looking at him with a half-hearted frown was her interest peeked by him? she sized him up a little and yawned. "I might want to see you later alone." the tone was different a little more friendly then the ones she's been having.

Then her attention went to the crying baby tin can on the floor. "oh stop your crying if I was upset I would have punched you already by now..." she closed her eyes and would listen in on what everyone was about to say to her.. the aura around her arms and legs stayed.

Arrwyn Ellavir

Arrwyn Ellavir
The faunus girl in the skin-tight clothing proved to be less fun than Arrwyn would have expected, even considering the fact she was a faunus, something that was something of a point against her in Arrwyn’s book. Still that was something she could ignore, though the other girl’s comment she couldn’t. “You don’t seem like my type anyway, that doesn’t mean we couldn’t still play a little.” The blonde remarked, deciding to remain somewhat playful, though she wasn’t particularly fond of the other girl already, aside from her apparent sense of fashion. The other girl wasn’t done yet either, and Arrwyn was somewhat irked about the comment suggesting she’d get everyone killed. The other girl did at least seem to have a flare for theatrics, with the speed trick and everything.

“I’ll keep that in mind.” The noble girl answered after a moment of thought, when the other girl seemed to question her leadership abilities. Arrwyn’s expression remained mostly composed, though the look she gave the leotard wearing girl was somewhat strained.   Arrwyn knew the value of diplomacy very much, after all she had been taught in order to deal with Atlasian politics. A setting in which losing one’s composure could be rather detrimental to say the least.

Instead she turned her attention to Iris, who seemed to have gotten emotional. The way the other girl had acted moments before was a bit shocking, considering how withdrawn she seemed normally.  “Iris it’s fine, we’re all supposed to be friends here.” Arrwyn decided it was better not to tease the girl, instead trying to remain as comforting as possible.  She didn’t know how well the other girl would really do when it came time for them to fight something but having a meltdown in the middle of the room probably wasn’t going to help them with this whole being a team thing. She’d have to find a way to help the other girl build up her confidence.

Carmine Lysander

Carmine Lysander
Of all the things to happen today, with the practical surprise of the text he received being for a team formation, and the rather... interesting people that had gathered in the recreational room; Carmine hadn't expected the butting of heads between the catcaller and the faunus or the breakdown of the quiet one. If anything it had proved two things:  The first was that, just like Atlas, human and faunus relations were just as fickle -if not a little better than Atlas tends to be. And the second was that even students were still very fragile, the ironclad lady especially so since he pretty much had a front row view of such an event. It was rather depressing to see, and if anything gave him the urge to want to help the lobster of a person. He did hear the proposal from Abagail, and quite promptly answered, appreciating the amicability that the lady had as she spoke "I believe that could be arranged, yes, but for now..." He didn't blatantly ignore the criticism if anything, and he could have appreciated any that came his way, but there was the other pressing matter. "You can name the time and place though, miss Abigail." It wasn't to say though that he was curious as to what the lady could talk to him about... especially alone.

If anything the breakdown distracted the mind from the party trick that the antlered faunus had performed, the curled up ball of armor taking the most precedence over the spectacle. Carmine moved towards Iris, putting a rather gentle hand on her shoulder as he spoke "There there, miss Iris. Nobody here is going to cause any deleterious actions your way. It's alright." The way he spoke was comparable to how some store employee would talk to a lost child, just a bit comforting with the right amount of reassurance to boot. he wasn't going to ignore what the lady had said before such a thing, which in itself was more than a tad odd to see happen in the semi-public eye, but the more pressing thing was to at least make sure that the lady was alright.

Iris Sterling

Iris Sterling
Iris felt a hand on her shoulder and looked up to see Carmine. His voice was soothing and gentle, and Iris was finally able to calm down enough to speak properly.

"I apologize... that was probably quite the spectacle. The last time I'd talked like that with someone I was beaten up badly, so badly that I still have scars. At first, I just wanted to help but then.." Iris flinched before she continued, still remembering the pain, "Then it all came back and I was afraid, so afraid that I'd be hurt like that again."

It had taken Iris a lot of effort to get it out, and it was stressful emotionally to be talking about herself like this, but it was also somewhat relieving, she was finally able to get out what she'd kept inside herself so long.
"Eventually, instead of waiting for the backlash, I stopped talking altogether, and I tried to distance myself from other people."

Iris took off the weights from her armor, and then took off the gauntlets and armor from her left arm. She rolled up the sleeve of her undershirt, and exposed the skin on her arm.
Her left arm had all kinds of scars on it, but the worst one was from what used to be a long, deep cut that went down the entire length of her arm.
"This isn't all of it. I have scars like this all over my body. It's part of why I never wear anything revealing and wear heavy armor."

"I'm so sorry if I offended you, I wanted to help, but I should have known better. People never react well when I am able to pinpoint their emotions..." Iris shivered before continuing, "That's... part of how I got like this to begin with."

Iris laughed, partially from the emotional stress and partially because she truly found humor in all this. "It's funny isn't it? It's been so long since I've talked, and now look at me, I haven't told anyone besides my family about all this. I guess... I guess I just needed to know that I would be safe. I needed to know that, I wouldn't be hurt for my opinions or words.. It'll still be hard at times, but I hope you all know that I will give it my best shot."

"And if you ever worry about my ability to take a hit, you don't need to." Iris lifted up her scarred arm. "I'm used to pain, so don't worry about me, okay?"

merlynn

merlynn
Merlynn was trying not to laugh when everything was turned to the girl named iris. While it was fine merlynn just looked over everyone once more and then stretched. "Well let's get this started... name your semblance an what it does becuase what the point of being a team of your semblance is more of a hindrance then a help." Merlynn demonstrated her semblance by once again moving fast. "Mine allows me to increase the strength of my arms and legs." With this she stopped before the noble and looked up at her and stared her down her nose twitching as she sniffed the air as if she caught the scent of something. "So what can you do?" She was soon looking over her shoulder so look back at iris and the duster who honestly looked more like a doctor then a duster. But it was still an early morning stuff could still go wrong.

Arrwyn Ellavir

Arrwyn Ellavir
The noble girl watched Iris for a few moments without interrupting, she could tell that her armor-clad friend had been building up to this, and it’d be best for her to get things settled, as well as somewhat surprised by how much the mute girl had begun talking, as the girl hadn’t talked much in other, still Arrwyn resisted the urge to go on with her normal flirting for now, instead deciding to take a more serious demeanor than her normal playfulness. “It’s fine, just be whatever your comfortable with.” The noble girl answered, “And don’t worry, I’m sure we’ll be able to count on you.”

Arrwyn turned her attention back to the faunus girl, wondering who this girl thought she was before deciding it was a fair question to ask, after all they would need to figure out how best to work together anyways, and while their roles in the group already seemed predefined it could still provide insight into how they could work well together. As well as helping in future endeavors, Arrwyn could at least admit Merlynn wasn’t just eye candy from what she could tell. The other girl seemed to hold just as much hostility towards her, though at least the two of them weren’t about to break into arguing right here, which was good. After all that would probably be worse for the team than just them hating each other. She decided to just focus on the question, beginning to float upwards as she answered.

“This helpful enough?” She asked, the playful edge once again returning to her voice as she floated upwards slowly, sitting down in the air and floating upwards to the ceiling. “I can fly higher and faster if I want, but we don’t really have the space to show that.” The noble girl explained grinning down on the three teammates. There were plenty of uses for the ability to fly, and while her semblance didn’t have a direct combat advantage, it wasn’t something to be discounted, especially given tactical implications.

Assuming the faunus girl was smart enough to realize that of course.
