The Bellmuse public library wasn’t the largest collection of knowledge on the island, Syne’s library rivalled it largely when it came to sheer knowledge and books contained.  However, there was much to be learned there, and not everything was the same between the two places.  While Zure wasn’t appreciative of books in general, as she wasn’t able to use them, she could at least respect the varied selection.   Unfortunately, however, they did lack in the one thing the place should have had that she was interested in.

Even nowadays most libraries didn’t stock a lot of audiobooks or the like, many seeing it as a luxury or simply feeling it got rid of the point. While some she’d been at did, particularly within the city of Haven in Zure’s experience, the selection at Bellmuse’s library was abysmal.  Her eyes didn’t allow her tor read, as a simple problem caused by her faunus trait.

Frogs couldn’t see still objects well, they could even starve surrounded by food if it wasn’t moving.   She couldn’t really make out much in the way of details normally on stationary objects. And while there were some advantages of her faunus trait, superior ability to see moving objects for example. Being unable to make out any real serious detail meant that she was physically unable to read.  It had been hard enough to convince the somewhat uppity librarian to show her to the audiobooks, but from what she could tell, after having coerced into being told what recordings were. She learned they didn’t have much she could use. She adjusted her scarf somewhat before sighing, it was probably too much to ask for that they have an audio book that could be helpful for fighting grimm, whether that be on Grimm anatomy or simple combat strategy.

As the days became ever so more tiresome, with countless people needing treatment from constant Grimm attacks, things seems ever so endlessly dreadful for the medical team in Syne, which included one particular individual. As the sound of metal clanked through the streets of Bellmuse, the strands of black danced in the air like ribbons in the wind, eyes like a luscious forest glimmering while his ivory white skin clashed with his hair, obsidian hued armor shelled his body. Met with a enormous blade strapped to his waist, the rather grotesque tachi gave off a wicked aura about it, almost as if drenched in the blood of fallen beasts, with the mysterious figure whom seemed to have earbuds in each of his ears made his way to the library he stopped to touch his Scroll. Upon finishing his business he opened the door and entered the building full of knowledge, he quickly walked over to the librarian and spoke soft to her to keep the rule about being quiet in the library while others were around. "Please enable the scanners to allow for audiobook downloads on my scroll."

And with a nod she placed a scanner-like device on the top of his Scroll and activated it, he slowly walked off and strolled around the library, scanning books that he would need, a few on the Physiology of Faunus and Humans, the Biological Studies of Faunus and Humans, as well as a few other medical related novels. Before reaching a area where there was another student present, he didn't pay her any mind except to spot her encase she moved so he wouldn't run her over, being he was six foot and two inches, not to mention his armors boots gave him about an inch and a half more height. The elaborate design of he azure cloth that wrapped around it was quite nice, along with the craftsmanship of the armor itself was a sight and not to mention the blade he had on his waist was not to snark over as he scanned a few books, his Scroll giving off a little beep as it added another audiobook to its log.

Zure had been resigned to leave the library, it would take time to find her way back to the airship after all.   Her eyes weren’t capable of things like reading maps, or even words or signs.   Even her scroll required voice command for her to use it at all. As she can make out written words. It was the entire reason she was dependent on using audio format for books rather than simply reading them.

The presence of the armored man was registered, with his movement allowing her to notice the detail of it, she didn’t give any visible reaction, but she found the design to it somewhat intriguing from what she was able to see. It was nothing more than an intriguing oddity to the ninja, whom didn’t put much stock in heavy armor, such things would be a hindrance in the swamps she’d grown up in. Even with the height difference, with Zure only coming up to about level with his shoulder.

The large weapon similarly would likely be intimidating to others, but she showed no real reaction to it, though internally the frog faunus recognized that there was something unsettling about the weapon. Something which she couldn’t be able to put her finger on. The strange device he was using to scan things would have gone unnoticed if not for the audible beep causing her to take notice…was he scanning books? She didn’t recognize the device, but it appeared to be attached to a scroll.  Was he a member of the library’s staff? Doubtful, unless they happened to face a lot of danger. She doubted the library’s workers walked around in armor regularly from what she’d seen of them so far.  “Pardon me but, precisely what is that device?” She asked, deciding that was the best course of action for figuring out precisely what he was doing. The detail she could previously make out fading as he had stopped moving.

Upon scanning the final book of the collection he had built, twelve books in total, he simple deactivated the device and sorted through the listing of literature to see what he would listen to first, the raven black locks dancing as he tilted his head to the side while pondering. Only shifting when he heard a voice ring out to him, which made his gaze focus on the figure beside him, a female that was here before hand, the one he was trying to not bump into, as she inquired about the device on his Scroll, all he could do was speak kindly out to her. "It's a audiobook scanner, it's used to scan text based literature and convert it into a file for audiobooks." "I have my Scroll configured to download them upon being scanned." His strong, deep and masculine tone voiced rang out, echoing slightly which made him sigh as he finished sorting the listing, having the health and physiology books at the top while the more self relaxation novels were at the bottom of the list, he quickly took the device off his Scroll in the appropriate manner before trotting past the girl and returning to the front desk.

He handed the device back to the woman whom nodded and cataloged the books he downloaded onto his Scroll and waved to him in a gentle fashion, clearly being a Hunter in training had it's perks, free audiobooks for him, since it was required for his field of work, he then turned back around and made his way to the seating section, which wasn't too far from the female he was talking to, within eyesight. The fully armored male took a seat as he unhooked his blade from his waist and placed it against the chair, the subtle thud filled the room for it seemed his blade was much heavier than he wanted it to appear, he began listening to the audiobook on his Scroll, keeping one earbud out encase someone came up to him to converse about anything, he could multitask while absorbing the info about Faunus and Human physiology as well as biology.

Zure blinked at the new information…the device would be helpful for her purposes then. Of course, there was still the issue of finding the proper books. “Interesting.” She responded, not indicating anything. She didn’t want to expose the weaknesses her eyes gave her, at least not to the broader public, even when she’d spoken to the librarian she’d tried avoiding that subject, simply treating it as herself knowing a different written language rather than the weakness it was. She had put out that she understood the spoken language in her deception…

Still she’d caused the library staff much trouble, and the brief request she made to the librarian after the device was returned indicated she could use it, but it was obvious the librarian was rather busy. She turned her attention back to the man as he was on his way out. The thud of his weapon drew attention. She knew she needed help figuring out the device, since even using a scroll was difficult with her frog eyes, she couldn’t make out much in the way of text generally. It was one of the reasons she had her scroll mostly programmed to get around this disability, using primarily voice commands and having it set to read out messages.

“Excuse me, could you show me how this works? The library staff appear to be busy at the moment.” She asked, approaching the armored man, she didn’t really know anybody else in the building that she could see, and figured he would have a good idea of how to use the device. “I’m still not quite used to the technology here.” That much was the truth, her village was a bit backwater, lacking the proper ability to produce more advanced tech on their own, and with little trade from the cities of remnant or the like. Most trade revolved around items of necessity, and thus she still wasn’t in the know on most of the facets of technology.

As the male sat there listening to this book, the sound of silence filled with a gentle voice of the figure from beforehand, the female that asked him about the scanner on his Scroll, as she stated if he could help her out with understanding the scanner on her Scroll. "Sure." He said bluntly as he looked at the individuals device and began tapping her Scrolls screen after standing up and preparing the system to accept the app he was downloading onto it, once done began setting it up; using a single finger to do it all, and once done he spoke after sitting down. "Just tap that app whenever you plug in the scanner and just hit that little button on the back of it to begin scanning, all the books here have codes." He said with a smile, a gentle glimmer of pearl white teeth flashed at her while his emerald green gems locked onto the females eyes, his waist long obsidian locks danced as he turned his head back to the device and continued listening to it, trying to focus on his lesson "Just be sure to exit the app before pulling the scanner off, you'll corrupt the data and lose all the Audiobooks you downloaded and have to reinstall the app again." And like that his voice went silent as he gave her some helpful advice to the apps little quirks that were sometimes a pain in the side to get past, his ivory white skin shifting as his goatee flicked when his lips moved when he spoke.
