Gotta have supplies to make treats!

Lucy was in a bit of a hurry, which was normal, but the reason this time was making her anxious...which was also a bit normal, honestly, but still this was very important!

Lucy's bakery was set to open in a few days, yet she had completely forgotten to make an order for the ingredients she needed, and it wasn't possible to make that order now. This forced Lucy to have to use Miss Silvana to ride over to local farmers and speak with them about getting the materials she needed to be ready for opening day.

She traveled pretty far and was nervous about that, but Miss Silvana knew the way back to Mr. Davis's house from pretty much anywhere and Lucy knew that she could trust her sense of direction.

There were a number of things she was looking for: eggs, milk, flour, sugar, and butter. She needed all of these things in order to prepare baked goods for her customers on opening day.

Lucy, while very nervous, did her best to convince the local farmers to help her out with some of the products she needed.

It seemed like there was some confusion when she spoke with each farmer, and Lucy was positive it was because she didn't articulate very well and was quiet due to her nervousness with meeting with them.

Ms. Silvana encouraged her, and she thought of how proud Mr. Davis would be when she came back with what she needed for her bakery without his help, and she mustered up her courage to ask again...with just a slight more amount of confidence. She also wasn't sure if she had enough money to cover what the farmers might charge, but she knew she could haggle with them if she really needed to...maybe.

As it turned out, the farmers were ore than willing to help out such a sweet in her time of need. Through the farmers gracious offerings, Lucy not only had what she needed to open her store, but even a little extra!

The farmers gave her a total of: 6 eggs, 7 bottles of milk, 6 jars of flour, 6 jars of sugar, and 7 sticks of butter.

Lucy was very grateful and bowed many times to the farmers, and when they told her it was no problem and that she didn't need to pay them, she insisted that they accept a deal: if they would provide the products she needed, and kept treating their animals the way they did, she would supply them with goodies she baked.

How could the farmers say no to such a sweet and determined young lass who was embarking on such a big responsibility and journey?

With the help of Ms. Silvana and her saddle bags, Lucy was able to get back home to Mr. Davis and prepare some deserts for the kind farmers who helped her.
