FEARS:
- Nihilophobia, the fear of nothingness. Dark places and not being able to see make him uncomfortable, and open water terrifies him.
Arachnophobia, the fear of spiders. Felix doesn't like most insects, and spiders terrify him.
Atychiphobia, the fear of failing. Felix isn't so much afraid of failing as he is incredibly motivated to not fail. He fears what kind of effects his failures might cause, and feels that failing to succeed might hurt those close to him.
OVERALL PERSONALITY: Felix is a melting pot of personality, the intersection where conflicting traits collide to create a rather peculiar teenage boy. Felix is outgoing and straight-shooting, not afraid to get his hands dirty. He lives in the now and acts on his gut. When confronted with a problem Felix assesses it, quickly decides what he believes the best course of action to be, and acts on his gut with little thought after he has moved on.
His typical demeanor is gentle and caring. He has a generally mild temperament and cares deeply for his friends, he would die for them without a second thought. He is honest to people unless he knows the truth would hurt them, which is when he would rather lie to protect them. Although Felix is genuinely gentle, his past has left a deep depression burnt into his personality and a growing aggressive nature that will surely show when he's pushed too far. He is hypocritical by nature, often telling others what he thinks is best for them without actually practicing what he says himself. Despite his growing aggression, Felix is still a push over, simply because he is so easygoing that he just doesn't care. He chooses to avoid confrontation when possible.
Felix picks up on the most subtle cues, naturally noticing small things like facial expressions, body language, and speaking patterns. He can read into people and is an excellent judge of character. Felix has surreal perceptiveness when it comes to people and situations, intuitively understanding his instincts when he fears danger is near or something bad might have happened to somebody that he knows well. He relies on his instincts greatly both in and out of combat, choosing to act from the heart rather than the brain. His competitiveness is what keeps him progressing and bettering himself. He seeks to become the best he can be, which typically means better than others, though he is not arrogant or boastful. He has a natural taste for competition. If he fails something, there will be nobody harder on him for it than himself.
Of his many hobbies, there are a couple that stick out. He loves to maintenance his weapon routinely, cleaning it thoroughly almost every night. He keeps the joints well oiled and the blades sharp enough to split a falling hair in two longways. Felix also likes to juggle. He has naturally good coordination, and juggling is a hobby he took up to further sharpen those skills. He can juggle up to five objects at once presently.
ABILITIES
AURA TYPE: Defensive
AURA COLOUR: Lime Green
SEMBLANCE: His semblance is Ferrokinesis (also known as polarity or magnetism), which gives him remote control over various types of metal. When he utilizes his semblance, his hand will grow the colour of his aura, and the object in question will follow the movements of his hand. Felix's semblance is a sustaining type.
ITEM ONE Gríðr is a dual sided spear. The blades resembles a typical spear head, the thickest part of the actual blade being 1.2cm(.5in) thick and losing much of the thickness to the edge bevels. The blade is 30cm(12in) in length and approximately 17.8cm(7in) in width, with a gradual curve from the widest part to the point.
ITEM TWO: Dust: Air Element (Tier One)
HISTORY + SAMPLE
- History:
- On an unbearably hot and humid summer day, the first day of summer to be exact, Felix was born to parents Silvia Brandt-Armiger and Gottfried Brandt in the Mistral Region. He was born on the twenty first of June, the summer solstice. He was not their first child, though he would be their last. Felix had a sister two years older than him named Arista, and the two had a good relationship throughout their childhood. During his earliest years of life, from the time he developed the ability to walk and speak, Felix was given a basic attention. His mother was a teacher as a nearby educational institution that Felix attended when he was of age, though he was always a few steps ahead due to his mother being a professor. During this time, Felix developed an interest in academics and thought it would be interesting to become a scholar or engineer of sorts. He studied hard and did everything he could do to learn everything he could. During this time his sister was receiving similar education, though her interest was quite a bit more artistic. Because she was older, their father was constantly pushing her to become a huntress. Their family was a long line of warriors and hunters, all trained fighters destined to combat the Grimm. It seemed the warrior blood had skipped a generation when it came to their father, however, and he never had the capacity to become what his fathers before him had been. Instead he worked as an aircraft mechanic, and a damn good one at that. He was still embarrassed to have ruined the tradition, so he pushed the lifestyle onto Felix's sister, despite her disinterest.
Felix's sister was scared to death of fighting Grimm, and often had night terrors about it. She grew more paranoid and suffered from severe anxiety, thus motivating Felix to present their father with a proposition. One night, after Arista and Silvia were asleep, Felix approached his father in their garage. He remembers the words he spoke perfectly:
“I'll become a Hunter in place of Arista. She's not cut out for it, and y'know that. Let her do whatever she wants, 'n in return I'll work hard enough for the both of us.”
Gottfried agreed, and thus began Felix's journey to becoming a Hunter.
Things began to go downhill after Felix was enrolled into Sanctum. He adapted to his combat classes easily enough, yet he still excelled at the academics over everything else. In fact, nothing about the combat school was negative. He made a few good friends and they helped each other to grow and succeed. It was his home life that had begun to deteriorate. On the twenty eighth of September, Gottfried died unexpectedly. The three of them stayed together and tried to act like a family, yet none of them would admit that something was broken. From then on, Felix put most of his focus into the combat side of his hunter training. He developed his weapon about a year after Gottfried passed away, and trained hard with it. There were periods of time where the weapon wouldn't leave his side for weeks, and he would train sixteen hours out of the day with it. His dedication paid off as he became quite skilled with the weapon, often placed within the top ten fighters of his classes. He slayed a few Grimm while in combat school and received the marks of his fights, though they weren't particularly large or dangerous creatures.
Two years after Gottfried's death, Silvia was married again to a man named Niko Sol. The family was far from what it used to be, but it was coming back together. That's what Felix thought. He spent most of his time in Sanctum, only occasionally coming home on weekends and holidays. On the eighth of March, Felix came home and found a bruise on his sister's face. She told him that Niko had hit her, and that's when things fell apart. Felix confronted Niko within the next hour at his workplace, a dust shop that he managed. He doesn't remember much from the confrontation, but he did remember having the man by his shirt collar and telling him that if he ever put his hands on his sister again, he would break both of them.
Things were peaceful after that, though there was obvious tension and verbal abuse toward Felix whenever he came home. It was around this time that he began to wear his fake smile, reassuring his sister and mother that the abuse was nothing he couldn't endure. His mother later told him that the only reason she was still together with Niko was because they were in danger of losing the house, and Felix told her that it was fine as long as he didn't become violent toward them. One year and nine months after Felix began attending Sanctum his mother fell ill, and on the second of December, she passed away. He avoided most people for a while after that, and after two weeks or so of mourning, he returned home on a weekend. Niko began to verbally abuse Felix and attempted to hit him, prompting Felix to knock him out in retaliation. His sister moved out later that month, and Felix graduated the month after that. He left Sanctum and moved to Bellmuse to attend Syne Academy.

- An exaggerated sigh of relief escaped his lips as his black boots hit the tiled pathway for the first time. He was surrounded by others like him, the newest arrivals. Some came from invitation, most came from graduating their respective combat school, of which Felix had done the former. He was wearing what he had grown to call his "Combat Attire", the only uniform he would ever willingly wear. The black turtleneck he wore underneath the green coat contrasted nicely with his lighter coloured trousers. Most students he could see were dressed in similarly strange attire that seemed out of place for any regular educational institution, many of them carrying strange and impressive weaponry as well. He longed to feel the weight of his own weapon again, but with the recent damage it had sustained, he had to leave it behind to be repaired. He was ensured that it would be shipped to him the minute it had been repaired.
"There it is... Beacon." His voice was low and the words spoken through a breath. Felix wasn't smiling, but he didn't look particularly upset either. He seemed rather complacent, if anything. His right hand raised up and ruffled his hair, which had been dyed a light pink colour. He took a step forward and examined the intricate path and pillars that lead to a magnificent building. It definitely looked the part of a state of the art facility for training warriors. The students around him appeared to be going their own ways, meeting up with others that they knew before wandering off to explore the rest of the academy. Felix did the same, though on his lonesome. He didn't recognize any faces, at least not enough to strike up a conversation with them. Instead he decided to explore by himself and began the journey down the path, his head turning and following the points of interest.
"Sure is bigger than I thought it'd be."
