SpringFest Scavenger Hunt!

Felix was new to the area, but he didn't think it mattered much in the forest. It was the perfect location for a difficult scavenger hunt, amidst the unfamiliar and vast sea of woodland. He overheard somebody mentioning that it was a popular place that occasionally held events, so he doubted there would be much danger, but his weapon still hung from his belt regardless.

Only just now had Felix realized he hadn't even the slightest clue what he was looking for. He had been given a list, but there were some strange and out of place items on it. Coloured eggs... Grimm plushie... a cat..? His eyes glanced over the list quickly before a hand was raised to scratch the back of his head, and before long he was on his way again. Felix didn't make it far before something unusual and out of place caught his eye, prompting him to move closer for a better examination.

He found the frames of a pair of glasses, with broken pieces strewn about the ground. He figured the frames would be enough, so he tucked them into his pocket and continued onward..

There was such a long list of random objects for him to find, yet he had been looking around for what felt like hours though only ten minutes or so had actually passed. His green eyes were in a constant state of movement, taking in every bit of the forest he could see in search of something that seemed out of place. Not everything was going to be found in the forest, there were some items scattered around the festival grounds as well. Felix was headed in that direction now, having lost his desire to trudge around the woods. His walk was long, uneventful, and boring, so much so that he had brought Gríðr out and spun the weapon around him as he walked. His arms twisted and contorted as the heavy double sided spear was twirled around, switching hands every so often to continue the momentum.

“Let's see...” Felix said as he tossed the weapon to his left hand to free up his right. He dug around in his pocket and retrieved the folded piece of paper with the various items to be found sprawled across it, and gave each of the items on the list a brief glance. “Some of these make more sense to be at the festival, so I'll try there next before I come back.” Upon finding himself at the grounds of the festival again, his weapon transformed back into it's more conveniently sized form for transportation and was hooked onto his belt. He headed into the festival and, before long, was stopped by an item of interest.

The Festival was alive and bustling, streets crowded with people of all shapes and sizes. Felix waded through the thick of them, his emerald eyes scanning everything in sight. His goal might have been to collect items for the scavenger hunt, but his focus was on the festival. He didn't really seem to care about the hunt at the moment, much more invested in the various sights to be seen. The carnival-esque games were the most eye grabbing, they stretched on for miles and were lined with interesting and cute toys and trinkets. He passed many of them as he progressed forward, but one caught his eye: the milk bottle toss. He knew they were rigged, the pins to be knocked down either made of heavy lead or secured to the table, but Felix was confident he could best their trickery. He paid the fee to give it a try and was given three baseballs to throw. A smile grew on his face - this was a game designed for regular civilians, wasn't it? He was a warrior trained to wield a heavy weapon, he could probably fire that baseball through the back wall if he wanted. Felix picked up one of the baseballs and tossed it into the air, catching it as it fell back down. He pulled his arm back and threw it at the pins, though not nearly at full power. The baseball collided with the lower left pin though it only bounced off with a silent thump.

A grumble escaped his lips as he picked up the second ball. He shot the game employee a glance before he pulled his arm back again. This time his leg raised as well, his arm cocked much further back. He dropped his leg and swung his torso forward, rocking his arm forward like a trebuchet. The ball shot from his hand and rocketed toward the pins, and he swore he saw smoke fly off it. The next thing he knew, he was on the ground with a large bruise on the side of his face and a trickle of blood running from his nose. He exhaled a long groan as he climbed to his feet, his right hand firmly grasping the last baseball. He would not be beaten by a carnival game so easily. A simple flick of his wrist tossed the ball into the air, and in the same motion, his right hand reached for the weapon on his side. It unfolded in his grasp, and with a simple spin on his heel and rapid swung of the spear, the baseball was sent flying through the pins, tearing the brackets out of the table.

He flashed the carnival game employee a satisfied smile as he stowed the weapon away and walked off with his prize.
