Gricelda Mee

Gricelda Mee
Walking at a brisk pace, Gricelda makes her way out from the Training Arena.  She is constantly on the lookout for someone who could help repair her damage shield.  She hounded passerby for assistance, most only offering her direction to the workshops.  Gris makes great haste to a campus workshop building, struggling to open the side door by herself considering that her hands are full.  Using some fancy foot work, Gris somehow manages to open the door and slink herself inside.  She takes this moment to look around, staff and students working with noisy machines and tools.  There were all sorts of projects going on inside this room, everyone seemed so busy and engrossed in there work... would any of them bother to pay her any attention?  As she stumbles about the shop floor, Gricelda bumps into someone as she was too distracted by the movements and loud to pay any mind as to where she is going.  One sharp shard of razor metal falls from her hands and makes a metallic clang rings as it falls to the hard ground surface below.  Gris almost immediately squats to floor and tries to pick the dangerously sharp metal fragment up with her already full hands.

"OOof.  Aww... shucks.  Errr... apologies... trying to find someone to fix my shield." she states passively, not bothering to look up to however she ran into as she tries to collect the fallen bit of her shied.

The workshop was one of Jet’s favorite places. Not only was there plenty of stuff to allow him to tweak his weapon or test new ideas for it, but he was also able to see and discover a lot of things thanks to all the other tech-enthusiasts that flowed around here and openly worked on their own projects. There were private booths for people that didn’t want to showcase their designs while working on them, keeping their weapon’s inner workings secret, but Jet didn’t care. His design was highly impractical for anyone but him with his metal control so it’s not like anyone would even want to steal it. Also, it was a good ambiance where he would sometime enter a techy-geek conversation with some other guy or girl working on a cool looking thing.

On this day, as he was walking back toward his workstation, he got bumped into by someone. It’s not like it was really infrequent when the place was packed. She dropped some metal pieces on the ground that she rushed to pick up. Whatever she had seemed it had seen better days. “Ah no worries we bump into each other’s all the time here… But you said you want your shield repaired?” At this, about a dozen heads lifted up in curious excitement, over half of them already elbowing the others trying to be the first to propose their help. Most people here were geeks, massive geeks, so helping girl with her gear was like the one thing they liked more than working on their own weapon. Jet was sure most of them already imagined the girl’s look of gratitude and wonder she’d obviously send their way with a cute “Oh thank you! How can I ever repay you?” … Yeah geeks were dumb, most of them at least.

With a little smirk Jet let some of them get close before talking again. “Sure, I can do that for you.” At these words, the closest geek tripped and had two more trip over him, all disappointed that the black haired guy got to propose his help first. Jet laughed internally, it was always funny when things like that happened. With a wide smile, he introduced himself before pointing to somewhere behind him with his thumb. “I’m Jet, pleased to meet you. My current workstation is over there. Follow me.

Jet walked a few meters to a table on which Drachenrüken was lying, half dismantled. The blades were detached and the bracer was open in two, showing the intricate mechanism. With a hand wave, the weapon was apparently unceremoniously swiped to the side by his semblance, yet the blade-whip was somehow neatly folded with the two bracer pieces beside it. With his hand this time, he pushed away some of the blueprints he was working on so that there was enough space for the girl’s shield. He took a step to the side, indicating her to drop her item on the table. “So what can I do for you? Just want me to put it back together or do you want to do some upgrades on it?

Gricelda Mee

Gricelda Mee
Gricelda manages to collect the parts of her shield and cradles them as she stands back up, looking up to the man she so clumsily walked into.  Gris's eyes naturally narrow as she sees that the boy was a human... but at least he didn't make a big deal out of her misstep.  Being asked if wanted her shield repaired gave Gris pause before finally settling for a basic nod in repose.

"Yeah, one of the blades slipped out out and shattered into pieces upon hitting the floor as I was practicing in the Training Arena.  I was hoping to find someone here who could fix it.  Do you know who I should ask?"

Gricelda was more or less obvious the nerds gravitating to her upon hearing that she needed help with her a shield repair.  Right now, her mind was too distracted with thoughts of how to get her shield fixed, her eyes and ears focused onto the dark haired human as she waits for a response.  Gris was a little surprised when the man offered to repair Razorwind for her.

"Uhh?  Oh... I-" stumbles Gris, before jerking her head as she was drawn to the noise of nerds falling over each other.  Gris stares at them with a concerned frown on her face, then suddenly appears a little relieved as she looks back to the man.  She was glad that she at least wasn't the biggest klutz here.

"Well, since you offered, sure.  I'll just trust that you know what your doing now.  Not like I know how to fix this thing."
she states in a causual manner

Gricelda smiles and nods as the human known as Jet introduces himself, to which Gris in turn makes a snappy introduction.

"Gricelda Mee.  Almost everyone calls Gris... or some variation of it at least."

Gris introductions out of the way, Gris follows Jet to his workstation that he pointed to earlier.  Doing as she was told, she dropped Razorwind and the metal shards onto the table.  Gris was going to blurt to him to just fix the dang thing but refrains herself from speaking as she ponders on a sudden thought.  Having her shield repaired might also be the best time for tune-up and an upgrade.  As effective against resisting all sorts of dust based attacks as it is, it would be better if she didn't have to worry about her shield shattering from a heavy blow of a creature like an Ursa.

"Hrrmmm... I was just going to have you fix or replace the blade that slipped out... but since you mentioned it... can you perhaps preform an overall maintenance check?  This is the first time I ever brought it in for service and I am sure the inside of the hull is just as beaten up as as the outside.  Oh, and can you take a look inside too?  Maybe look into seeing where you can add some supports that its a little less flimsy?" inquires the wolf faunus, her ears on her head drooping somewhat as she gives her broken shield a good long hard look.

Overall the shield as a whole was mostly intact, save for on section where one of the razor blades was missing from its slot.  Still, looking at the hull one could see that it was showing some serious signs of wear and abuse.  Places where the green paint coating has been scuffed off, rust staining areas around where complex parts connected with each other, gouges into the metal and one obvious exhaust port on the back of shield that was missing its cover.  Gris wasn't sure how the inside mechanisms are holding up but it was likely in rougher shape than on the the outside.  Not that it mattered much, the she was well aware that none it worked anyway since the spinney blade function never worked to begin with.

Jet Jeyson

Jet Jeyson
Jet listened to Gricelda’s words and request. She didn’t seem to know the shield very well herself so he had to assume she wasn’t the one who designed it. It’s not really a big deal and that means she probably doesn’t have much of an idea of where to go with it. Hovering his hand over the device, he started creating a sort of mental blue-print of the shield. The metal wasn’t one that was made to absorb hits; it is made of a very hard but brittle material. Jet could actually feel his skin irritate simply from touching the metal so the metal was probably dense with Dust in it. That was interesting.

Putting gloves on, he had the broken pieces float in front of him with his semblance and assembled them like a puzzle. It was more to see if there was a chance to forge the pieces back together. The pieces were big enough for it but Jet wasn’t a forge magician in anyway. If he was to work on it the work would probably be good enough but he expected the resulting blade to be smaller from having to interlock the pieces. Only way to keep it as long would be to make more of the metal to use it as a link between the broken pieces, but might as well just remake the blade entirely by melting the broken pieces down, it would probably be more solid that way.

Well, that blade will have to be either reforged or replaced. I’d just as well melt back down those pieces and mold them into a new blade instead of trying to fit them together with additional metal as a link. The process would take a bit of time though, hard to do on the spot without doing a crap job. Also since there is Dust in the metal it will require more to the process. Dust isn’t the most stable of component to add to metal so melting it will probably set it off some. Makes very pretty lights in the molted metal but ultimately that means the Dust is effectively used up when that happens, so we would need to add some more in the process.” Jet had deposited the pieces back on the table and turned to Gricelda.

You have a few options here. We can have that blade remade, that’s no issue. You are asking about making it less flimsy though so we could also change all the blades for a less brittle metal. Because of the design it still wouldn’t protect you from physical attacks but it could at least resist shattering when it’s hit. It would be a little less effective at dissipating Dust attacks without the spinning but at least you wouldn’t need to always replace broken blades.” While he assumed she didn’t know much about the shield in terms of how to maintain it, he still though she had already received at least a description of its functions. He didn’t mention earlier the spinning mechanism since he thought she probably knew about it and why it was deactivated.

Another option would be to have extra blades available and you just remove the broken or used ones, send them for repair and put a fresh one in. That way you could keep the same density of Dust in it, even maybe augment it to make it ever better at dissipating Dust attacks. It would make the blades ever more susceptible to breaking but if you have a good supply of them you could exchange them after every fight. I’d actually suggest that option even if you go with the more resistant blades, it’s always good to have spare parts just in case.” Jet personally had about two dozen extra blades for his weapon.

Turning back to the shield, the gadgeteer detached one of the blades to look at the locking mechanism, making sure he hadn’t missed a part that wasn’t metal. “Still, either way I can definitely add some more supports so that the blades don’t come off easily. I think it might have been made like that so the metal blades get dislodged instead of breaking, but really it’s a pretty unsafe design in my opinion. With the blades more surely locked in place and either a healthy supply of spares or more resistant blades, you could probably have the spinning mechanism reactivated. Right now all it needs apparently would be to plug back in a few wires so that would be super easy.

His eyes behind his sunglasses shifted to look back at the wolf faunus, his head also turning slightly. “So what will it be? Just remake the broken blade or change all of them? If time is a concern, I’d go with the first option. You can always find a better blacksmith than me to forge new blades if you want to later, I’m more savvy about the mechanical things, I’m merely average as a blacksmith so while I can do something decent, you could get much better from someone who specialise in it.

Gris stands idle, watching as Jet as he manipulate's her shield through what she assumed was his semblance.  This isn't the first she had seen or heard of polarity but it was still an impressive sight to behold regardless.  She settled for standing by and listening to Jet as he explains to her about the various different options she has available for her shield, occasionally nodding her head in agreement as she assumed that they were all good ideas.  She was surprised to hear that the only preventing the spin mechanism from working was a simple severed wire as she always assumed that it was something far more complicated.

"Wait... so your telling me that the only think thing preventing this from being a buzzsaw of death is severed wire?  And its an easy fix?  I always assumed the motor was busted or something.  Thats great news!  So yeah... add more supports... thats a must.   I think just remake the blade as it would be nice to my shield back as soon as possible.  But I think I will take up your suggestion to have order some spare blades for my shields.  I... don't have the faintest idea where to order such a thing though.  Any suggestion?  Oh, and don't forget to fix the problem with the wire.  I always wanted to try out that spinney shield feature!"

Gricelda... sounded more and more excited the longer she spoke,  The tone of her voice was noticeably higher in pitch by the time she finished speaking.  This was further evidenced by her raised faunus ears and her tail wagging happily behind her.

Apparently, the girl didn’t know about the mechanism being deactivated on purpose. That made Jet wonder how she got the shield in the first place since most people design their own weapon. It was a bit too specialised to be mass produced so it must have been custom made. She probably got it in a way that is different than usual, which is fine to him but he felt the need to explain then. “I can’t say exactly why it was deactivated, but I will guess that it’s because the blades weren’t attached solidly enough for it? I’m not sure to be honest, but I feel that with a more secure fixing they won’t risk flying out from the spinning.

Operating the inner mechanism with his semblance, Jet had the casing open and proceeded to quickly weld the wires in place using a small pen-like electric soldering tool. He then closed it back and tested the rotor. The blade spun nicely, the mechanism itself was in perfect state since it was never used and internal. The black haired guy handed the shield, still missing a blade, to the owner.

Well, I’m going to start working on the blade. You can observe or come back later or just practice with the spinning function of the shield in the empty spot over there. If you have questions about anything I do or stuff like that just ask, blacksmithing isn’t my favorite activity since there is a lot of down time between steps and it usually takes most of the day for one piece at my level, so talking and explaining stuff actually makes it more fun. As for getting stronger blades, ask around, as I said I’m only average in blacksmithing so you can probably find someone that can do a better job than me. Maybe not here, people here are more about gadget so… I don’t know. Maybe ask someone you know have a very high quality metal weapon where they had it made? I personally ordered the quantity of metal I needed, maybe you could do that but since you’d be ordering metal with Dust in it, it might cost quite a lot.

From that point Jet would answer to any question Gris had about the process. Mainly, it required him to form a mold in the rough shape of the blade, which by itself took him a bit of time. He couldn’t start the molting process of the metal since he wasn’t confident enough to finish the mold in time. He did have the furnace going though so it was already very hot when he placed the metal pieces in to be melted. Once it was smoothly melted, signaled Gris to come check, that was the cool part.

Taking some Dust that was available in the workshop, he started folding some in the metal, replacing the Dust that got destroyed in the melting process. Some of the Dust set off during the mixing and created a bunch of pretty color under the molten metal, making bubbles pop up to release the energy. Once he was sure there was a good density of Dust fused in the metal though he quickly poured it in the mold. They didn’t have any extra metals to work with so he had taken a mold that was easy to remove from the metal once it was cooled.

The cooling process wasn’t a long one but enough for Jet to work a bit on something else. He asked Gris to hand him back the shield and worked on maintaining the different pieces, bringing them back to as close to new as he could. He kept all the shavings of the metal he treated in case he had to start over with the blade currently cooling, they would be useful as additional metal to be melted. He didn’t need to in the end since the blade came off of the mold perfectly without any issues.

Now was time for heat treatment and that took some time again. “I’m going to eat since we’ve been at it for a few hours, a bit hungry, but that treatment will take some time if you want to eat yourself. I have a sandwich but if you need there’s a machine over there, beef jerky in it is pretty good.” With that he set up to eat while keeping an eye on the blade. Not much was needed before it was done. Sanding it so it was smooth, oil treatment, sharpening and then putting it in the shield with the other blades. “So how did you get this shield? It’s a nice piece of equipment if a bit unorthodox, but hey I can’t really talk with my weapon.

Gricelda quietly nods as Jet explains the the entirety of the repair process.  Gris was never much for understanding the complexities of machines but Jet seemed to have a knack for reducing overly technical terms into layman speech that even she could understand.  Jet sadly does not seem to know of any reliable sources to procure extra blade parts.  Gris will just have to ask around... question is who should she ask?

It seemed strange that one would purposely disable the spin mechanism but its probably what Jet mentioned earlier that the blades would fly out because of ill-designed fittings.  While she could be testing out the new spin feature... Gris instead settles to watch Jet at work as she is kinda curious of the whole process of forging.  Somehow it seemed a lot more straight forward concept than she previously imagined as he literally just melts metal, sprinkled with dust of course, and pours it into mold.  Gris always assumed it was a little more complex than that.

"Sandwich huh?  Eh sure... if it has lettuce or tomatoes I'll scrap it off.  The beef jerky though... I guess I will take several~  I hate living up to stereotypes but I am a carnivore... I can't help myself!"

She takes up Jet's offer for a sandwich.  After receiving said sandwich she makes her way to the vending machine and purchasing some beef jerky.   Her nose makes a little twitch as she inhales the scent of spices used to enhance the jerky's flavor. She took a single piece and nibbles into it... it was simply orgasmic on her taste buds as she chews on the BBQ flavored strips of smoked and aged beef.  As she happily chews away at the jerky, Jet inquires how she ended up getting Razorwind.  A smile curls on her lips as she begins to tell her tale.

"Ah... well... lets say that the person who originally created it was undeserving of it.  That is the short version but it seems we have plenty of time so I might as well give you the whole story!  So where to to start... hrmmm... well... me and couple of my comrades in the White Fang where sent on raid against this racist prick of a human who was in charge of some specialty weapons shop.  And before you try to defend him, trust me the jerk had was coming to him.  We had many reports on this particular individual having a gripe with all faunus it seemed, refusing service to costumers just because they where a faunus and was always trying to incite mob violence against faunus."

Gris growls under her breath, motioning quotations as she states ""Pest control" as he would call it.  Makes my... blood boil just thinking about!"

As a brief moment of irritable angery, she relaxs in posture and continues.

"Anyway, so we go in and teach this man a thing or two about disrespect.  In the late evening we catch him in his shop, overwhelmed him, tide him to a chair with rope and had my best friend Perri Dotts lecture him on all of the wrongs he committed.  He went on to spew hateful propaganda like-"

Gris lowers her voice, mockingly mimicking the shop owner ""You filthy animals!  If I were not all tied up I would see that I skin your pelts and turn you all into coats!""

Gris can't help but to grin menacingly as she states in an eerily estatic tone

"So guess Perri did when he said that?  She broke BOTH of his legs!  Bwhaa ha haa ha ha!  Ohhhh... he so had THAT one coming~"

After her bout of laughter, Gris continues the story in an uncharacteristically causal manner.

"So Perri had us gather all of the weapons.... claiming it as the bigot's dept to the faunus that he denied service to.  In fact, it Perri who suggested that I take this shield from the spoils since I was always the "reckless" one in the group.  So that is how I ended up this shield... which I shortly dubbed "Razorwind"!  It was good investment too... made so much easier to go up against angry dust shop owners who think they can protect their store by lugging their merchandise ever since we realized Razorwind's anti-dust properties.

Oh and we also burned down that faunus hating scum's workshop while he was inside.  Don't worry, we made sure to untie him and left the doors unlocked so that crawl out like the miserable insect he was was."

Gris smiles to Jet, as if proud of herself with her involvement

"Anyway... that is my story of how I ended up with Razorwind here."

Gris then takes her first bite out of the sandwich, chewing on it as she tries discern the flavor of the ingredients

"Mhmmm... what kind of sandwhich is this again?" inquires the wolf faunus

Jet had started eating his own sandwich as Gricelda was talking when he suddenly stopped, his mouth open and completely dumbstruck. His sandwich actually fell back in his lunch box. Honestly, he expected a lot of stuff, including theft, but actual criminal organisation raiding a shop? That wasn’t something he was expecting at all.

He let her explain the whole story and he was a bit weirded out that she sounded so proud of it, but not that much really. He was somewhat surprised himself on how what she said actually made sense to him in a lot of ways, even if the end result was more extreme than what he would consider just retribution.

Answering her last question first, he checked his own sandwich that he retrieved from his lunch box. It surprisingly stayed pretty much intact. “Ehm… I bought it at the cafeteria but I asked for roast beef sandwich. I think other than that it’s just like mayonnaise and some mustard? Could have used some melted cheese but hey, it’s good enough.

Depositing his sandwich, Jet had a more serious expression than his usual. “As for your story, you sound pretty proud of that moment. Honestly I find it was pretty extreme, but don’t get me wrong; I’m not against a bit of physical action to make a point to bigots.” Jet actually smiled a bit after that. “I used to date a faunus girl when I was in Sanctum. She wasn’t a fighter herself though. Still even if I wasn’t the direct target of it, I lived the faunus discrimination by proxy. We got thrown out of restaurents where I made a reservation for a date, some store overpriced us on purpose, me included for being associated with her and yes, she was targeted by the most extremists of bigots, sometime trying to hide a new scar she got. We were close to the west side of Mistral and living close to what people would call slums, so there was a lot of unsavory characters in the area. Me they didn't bother but Tiff... Yeah, a lot. So I did, more than once, break a few limbs either as retaliation to those scars or for defense when it happened while I was there. It didn’t last long though, the gangs and stuff around the place knew I’d come and get them if they hurt her.

Passing his hand in his hair, Jet exhaled some. That was stuff that happened a few years ago but the distinct feeling of unfairness still remained. He didn’t care about it himself but as usual for him, he cared much more about it being directed to his friends or girlfriend. Still, it’s not like he was proud of it like Gricelda was, at the time it was just what he thought he had to do for it. “I don’t like the faunus discrimination, I really hate bigots really, but I wish there had been another way than violence to deal with them. I like fighting, the thrill and challenge of it, but I don’t like hurting people if it’s not in a fair fight. Still, I know very well that some people only understand violence so I know it is sometimes necessary.

Taking back his sandwich, Jet started eating again. “Honestly though, you just blurted out being a member of a criminal organisation to a complete stranger, that seriously threw me off for a while. I mean, I personally think the White Fang is a bit too extremist, but I understand why they decided to go on the offensive. It’s the same reason the Faunus Right Revolution war happened. Thanks to it you guys have your rights and all to live in the kingdoms, but a good portion of the human population still refuse to accept these changes even after decades. They are a minority, simply, they’re a very visible minority since they stand out by their actions. The other humans that treat your people equally don’t stand out as much, but I also feel they should act up in your defense themselves instead of silently disapproving on the side.

By the time he finished, he pulled out the blade from the heat treatment and started sanding it out for a clear finish before the oil and sharpening. It would be done after that. Still, while working, Jet remained available for conversation with Gricelda, indicating it by keeping at it himself. “I’m curious though, I didn’t think the White Fang was active here. Don’t break any secret for me but I’m surprised about it.

Gricelda Mee

Gricelda Mee
Gricelda curls smirk on her face, appearing quite amused by Jet's initial loss of words.  Despite Jet's initial shock, the human sympathized with her action.  While he acknowledge that she her involvement may have gotten a little far... he surprised Gris by agreeing with her... something unexpected from a human.   While she normally disapproved of human and faunus relationships... in this case Jet garnered her sympathy, approving that he would defend her from persecution.    She gives Jet a sincere smile after taking another mouthful of meat and bread.

"Mhmm... om non om nom...*shallowing noises*... mhmmm... wish there where more humans like you... the ones who understand.  If they could just... understand and stand up to the injustice.... then all of this fighting wouldn't be necessary.  When I was younger... I used to wish for such peace... that... maybe if our voices were heard then there would be real change.   Funny... how no body seems to listen to you until you pull a gun to their head or a blade to their throat."  states the wolf faunus.

Griscelda leans herself to a nearby pole, devouring the remaining bit of her sandwich as she lets out defeated sigh.  She then looks back over to Jet, a great big beaming grin on her face when asked why she told him all about her involvement with the White Fang.

"What?  Do you expect to be ashamed of my involvement?  I'm proud of all the good work that I was part of.  Yes... people have gotten hurt... but unlike those years of protests, sit-ins and bakesales... we are getting ACTUAL results!  People are finally addressing the issues that they have otherwise tried to dismiss or sweep quietly under the rug!  The path is a bloody one but... if we don't fight back... we continue to wait for a change that will never come... then forever bound to the status of second class citizens we will be.  People think that... that I should be ashamed?  Ashamed of WHAT?  Nothing... thats what.  I did what I had to so that future generations of faunus won't have to take up this fight as me and everyone in the White Fang." speaks Gris, becoming more passionate the longer she speaks.

"That... being said... its just me... and... technically I'm not involved with the White Fang anymore. Long story short... either I come to Syne to train as huntress or spend the next 5 years in cell.  So to answer your question... no... the White Fang is active in Bellmuse.  At least as far as I know." says Gricelda... becoming uncharacteristically sheepish at the moment as she looks away from Jet... distracting herself with a couple students working on some big machine in the far corner of the workshop.

"Thanks... for you hearing me out.  Everyone, even some of the other faunus, don't understand the White Fang as I do... they see us as the villains when we are only ones fighting for change we all desire."  she adds, still looking out at the other side of the workshop with frown on her face.

Jet shrugged at Gricelda’s comment about how there should be more humans like him. It’s not really something a situation that was surprising so there wasn’t much to say about it. It was true with a lot of unfair situations. Whenever atrocities happened, not necessarily linked to faunus, people look the other way. Be it fear, lack of concern or even just being too much in a hurry to even realise, people tend to avoid complications if they can.

Jet let her go on before commenting about anything, he somehow felt like she needed to get all that out. She really believed in what the White Fang was doing and in a way Jet admired that devotion. Even though he agreed on the views of the White Fang and even the more physical and violent approach, some of the actions they took were a bit too close to bullying and seemed to forget about the justice part. Gricelda didn’t sound like she was one of those, Jet hoped at least.

Her looking away made Jet smile reassuringly a bit. He picked up on her less confident attitude at that moment so he decided to address that first. “You have your heart in the good place and your devotion to the cause is definitely admirable, I don’t know you a lot but you don’t seem to be the kind of person that would let other’s judgement worry you, don’t lose that drive. Just be sure to not go on the extremes. In the end what you choose is on you but all your fighting would be in vain if you targeted or hit an innocent, be it by error, collateral damage or intentionally. As much as I can agree with the White Fang’s ways, I can’t condone the more extreme actions that harms people that did nothing wrong. Those actions are the ones that both humans and pacifist faunus sees as unacceptable and masks the truly just ones, I’d stay clear of those both for moral reasons and the high profile spotlight they will shine on you. Prison, as you said, isn’t the best way to help the cause either so try not to get caught!

Jet laughed a little at his obvious advice. “Heh, you probably didn’t need me telling you all that and probably don’t really care much about what I think you should or shouldn't do, but maybe keeping it in mind wouldn’t be a bad idea. You do what you want with those advices, it’s not like I’m trying to guide you or anything, you can decide for yourself the path you want to take, but hey, when on moral grey grounds, it's usually good to get someone else's perspective. Anyway… Also, what surprised me about you telling me wasn’t that I thought you should be ashamed, but I was just surprised you would tell a stranger when that stranger could very well run to the police with that info. Not that they’d have any evidence to show but you probably don’t want them looking at you too closely, can get pretty annoying I’m sure.

Jet had finished the blade and was just inspecting it for any imperfections he could find, by either touch, sight or semblance. It was decent, as much as he expected, but far from perfect. To the untrained eye it wasn’t something that could be seen but Jet worked and knew about metal enough to detect that his craftsmanship and blacksmithing skills were decent at best when looking at this piece. He smiled still, happy with the result. Maybe he should try working with Dust in metal again, probably could make something interesting with some trials and errors.

Turning to the wolf faunus, he presented her the blade for inspection. “There, all done.

Gris gives the human a playful smirk as she carefully listens to Jet speak.  Her faunus ears directing themselves to his direction.

"Mhmmm... sounds like one of my pappy's prepared speeches he would give me.  But its something to keep in mind.  We do what we must in the White Fang... just as I will do what I must as I continue my schooling as huntress.  Fighting to protect others from the horrors of both the Grimm and mankind are capable of.  Well... fighting is at least the one good thing that I am capable of."

With that her expression goes blank, giving Jet an indifferent shrug.

"Seriously?  Still surprised by that?  Well it doesn't really matter.  I'm not involved with the White Fang... and if you did tell the Bellmuse police, then the most that would happen would be an officer coming to visit me, interrogate me a bit, then go back to his cozy desk job with nothing to report.  More of an inconvenience really.  You would be SURPRISED at how ineffective the law really is at times.  Plus the school administration is well aware of my involvement with the White Fang but... I guess pops used his connections to help get me in.  How is anyone's guess.  But you can bet that someone is probably keeping an eye on me."

Her ears twitch as Jet announces that his metalurgy work was finished.  She pushes her herself away the pole and walks up next to Jet.

"Great!  About time!  Now... before I take my belongings and make my exit, can you that blade insert into Razorwind now?  Might as well show me how to properly install these blades in so that I know how to do so in future if I ever need to put new set of blades in."

Jet shrugged at her surprise that he was still… well surprised. “I can understand that. Just thought you’d rather avoid any unwanted attention but if the school already know and if that’s how you see it then I guess I am not surprised.

At Gricelda’s request to put the blade in the shield, Jet simply nodded and brought it to the device. He hadn’t put the additional security on it yet so he got to it, making sure she could see him install it so she could understand how it worked. It was a pretty simple upgrade since he was using premade parts the he only had to slightly adjust to fit. In the end, it was just an additional clip to make sure the blade didn’t move and that the mechanism didn’t open by itself.

Once it was installed, Jet made the shield spin a little, just making sure everything was stable. He then showed her the process to install and remove the blades when needed, which was simple enough. He did make sure the additional mechanism was all internal and wouldn’t become a hindrance, so in the end the shield looked exactly the same from the exterior. With a smile, he handed back the final assembled product to the wolf faunus.

That should be it. If you ever need it repaired again or even for regular maintenance, call me. Here.” Jet wrote down the contact information for his scroll and handed her the paper. “Also, if I stumble on a good blacksmith I’ll tell you, you do the same if you find one, it would be a nice contact to have.

Picking up his things, Jet put on his weapon on his right arm. He didn’t get to work with it much in the end other than basic maintenance but he didn’t mind, he probably wouldn’t have accomplished much anyway, it’s not like he had any brilliant idea or anything. “Well, this was nice, I like working on designs I haven’t seen before, gives me ideas. Call me whenever you need something… hell even if you just want to hang out or whatever, you’re cool so it could be fun!

Jet let her comment or say anything she wanted to before smiling and leaving the workshop. “See ya!

Gris nods and listens to Jet as he goes over the process of installation.  It was a simple process but one that she was personally thankful that he went over with her. Gris looks the piece of paper, as if consider.  She takes out her school and enters the information on her contacts list, then scribbling her contact info on the other side of the paper as she listens to Jet notifying each other if one of them find a good blacksmith.

"Uh-uh... yeah.  I'll let you know if I happen to find someone skilled in blacksmithing.  Or you know... anything else." plainly states the wolf girl as she returns the paper scrap, this time her contact information on the opposite side.

"Hee... well I guess your alright for a human so... sure.  We'll met up again whenever that might be.  Anyway, take care now Jet! And thanks for fixing Razorwind for me." says the wolf faunus with a faint smile on her face as she exits the workshot, inspecting her newly repair Razorwind as she opens the doors.
