Lucy was hustling through the house to get ready: she had forgotten she had signed up for the Candlemaker's Shadow Mission, and now she was working hard to get ready so that she wasn't late. She found everything she needed and had gotten dressed and all, but she couldn't find Mr. Floppsies and she was very upset about it.

"Desperation: Oh no oh no, please Mr. Floppsies where are you, I need you I can't leave until I find you and I don't want to be late!" she searched nearly every room until she ran into Mr. Davis who handed her Mr. Floppsies and said she left him on the kitchen table after happily eating her bowl of Schneerios for breakfast. She cuddled her gentlerabbit for a moment before getting atop Ms. Silvana and having Mr. Davis take her to see the candlemaker.

Ms. Silvana was a very fast horse, and even though Lucy was panicking the whole ride, the made great time.  Soon they were right outside the door of the Candlestick maker's shop. Lucy hopped off and said goodbye to Mr. Davis and Ms. Silvana and nervously walked into the shop as the trotted away.

A bell kindly dinged as Lucy walked in, and there was a man behind the counter but he seemed very busy. Lucy slowly walked towards the counter. "Inquiry: U-U-Umm, i-is Mr. W-Waxam-million h-here?" She asked timidly, but she didn't get a response. This made her more nervous, as she thought that maybe she someone had the wrong store. She moved a bit closer before asking again.

"Inquiry: U-U-Umm, i-is Mr. W-Waxam-million h-here?" she repeated her question, but the man didn't turn around. Lucy was sure of two things: either she somehow definitely had the wrong store, or this was an assistant of some sort who was very focused on his job, and therefore couldn't hear her. Lucy stepped forward once more, and she was right next to the counter

"Inquiry: M-Mr. W-W-Waxam-m-million?" she was now very VERY nervous, hoping that maybe the man would just turn around and say that she was in the wrong place and guide her to the right store.

"Inquiry: U-U-Umm, M-M-Mr. W-W-Waxam-" as she was stutter it out, the man had put something down and turned around an saw her, and someone suddenly being there startled him. "AHH!" was the shout that escaped his lips, and the sudden response startled Lucy greatly as she wasn't prepared for it.

"Interjection: EEP!" She jumped back a bit and lost her balance, falling onto the wooden floor.

"Oh my, sorry there little one, you caught me off guard. I don't always hear the bell anymore, what with having one ear out and the other on the way." He helped little Lucy off the ground with a very kind, yet wrinkly, hand. "Are you going to be alright?"

"Assurance: I-I'm o-okay, th-thank you! Confusion: I'm not sure I understand sir about your ear sir..."

"I'm sorry I'm having trouble hearing you, could you kindly speak up little one? He spoke rather loud and it startled Lucy and made her shake, but she found some confidence when she realized what he meant about his ears and repeated herself.

"Assurance: I-I-I'm o-okay, th-th-thank y-you!"

"Well thank goodness for that, wouldn't want a pretty little thing such as yourself getting hurt here! How can I help you today?" At his verbal prompt, Lucy showed him the flyer for the Candlemaker, and he took it and glanced it over before speaking up again. "Oh, so you are here to learn about how to make candles! You know, a lot of kids your age find the idea of making candles incredibly tedious, although I'm not sure why. It takes precise movements and handling, and lots of focus, but the youth nowadays have no patience." The older man just shook his head for a few moments before asking Lucy another question. "Are you ready to learn about how to make candles by hand?"

Lucy nodded and answered the kind Mr. Waxamillion with a definite "Affirmative: Y-Yes Sir!" and with that he guided her behind the counter after changing the sign on the door to 'Out For Lunch' and took out the supplies they needed to make candles.

Mr. Waxamillion told her they would focus today on starting with candles that are inside jars, as they are easier to make. He then brought out his double boiler, and he filled with some pieces of solid beeswax and what he reffered to as 'Paraffin' and 'Stearic acid.' When Lucy inquired about what they were, Mr. Waxamillion explained that the 'Paraffin' was similar to beeswax but didn't have a natural scent and was easier make different colors, and that 'Stearic acid' would help make the candles firmer and even easier to color.

As everything started melting down, Mr. Waxamillion handed Lucy a wooden spoon and explained that before they can continue that everything needs to be melted down and mixed properly before they can continue, and it reminded Lucy of baking so she knew that she had to pay attention and stir the concoction briskly. Once it had all melted down, Mr. Waxamillion took a small dropper off of a shelf and added multiple drops to the concoction: this was so the candle would have a a slight honey scent from the beeswax and a bit of a flowery scent, and when Lucy sniffed it smelled like a wondrous hill of flowers! He then added some dye to the mix that gave the mixture a golden-white hue, and Lucy noted that it was very pretty, like a honeysuckle...and Mr. Waxamillion was happy, as that was the goal for these candles.

Once it was thoroughly mixed, he grabbed two jars or pretty glass and set them on the counter, then put on some oven mitts and picked up the boiler as Lucy turned it off and setup the wicks. The wicks were tied to a wire above that held them in place in the middle of the jar as the mixture of poured into the jars and allowed to harden around the wicks. They packed it in as it hardened with some flat tools, and then in a couple minutes they had honeysuckle jar candles! Lucy was so excited to have learned how to make a candle, and Mr. Waxamillion said she could take her candle with her. She hugged Mr. Waxamillion and thanked him a bunch of times, and said that the next time he was offering understudies, she would promise to come again and learn more. She then ran out of the shop and was promptly picked up by Mr. Davis and Ms. Silvana, who she told about everything she learned in an excited manner without leaving out a single detail for the entire ride home.
