Personality
Group: Warrior
Likes: Board and card games (even though she is dreadful at them), Metalwork (mostly traditional blacksmithing), Wind, Flying (in any way possible), Food (especialy Cheese), Animals and putting bullies back in their place.
Dislikes: Her accent, Hiding the fact she is a faunus in public (but she still does it), Being underestimated, Technology (except those that allows her to fly), Guns, Sand, Snobby people, Show-offs and people breaking their promises.
Fears: Derision from her accent and somewhat uncivilised upbringing, Discrimination upon her faunus heritage being known, Losing friends, Her family (in a comedic way), Having anyone close to her meet her family.
Overall Personality: While not anti-social, Chloe likes being alone. She is the kind of person you can expect sitting under a tree reading a book or taking walks in the forest. She like nature, animals and especially to feel the wind blow by. She won’t reject others that approach her but doesn’t necessarily look for it.
While she isn’t a complete lost case when it comes to technology, she just doesn’t like it. That doesn’t mean she won’t use it, she still concede the fact that technology makes everything extremely convenient, but it feels wrong to her, unnatural. This can be traced back to her family who adopted a very rustic kind of living outside of the main city’s borders yet still within the kingdom, running a ranch of all things.
Talking about her family, while she loves them, she is comically afraid of them as well as ashamed of how they act and talk. They are complete monsters in battle, uncivilised and loud bunch. She would love to be able to blend in the mass and be like everyone else, and for that she had to leave her family’s side. Unfortunately, her accent is pretty distinct and often catches people’s attention. That and her unnatural strength. It’s nowhere near any form of supernatural power, she is simply deceptively strong considering she doesn’t look very muscular.
Other than that, she is fiercely loyal to those that get close to her and doesn’t forgive betrayal easily, if at all, even if she wasn’t the one betrayed. A promise is sacred to her and breaking it is probably the worst thing you could do in her eyes.
She remains friendly and funny (sometimes accidentally so and at her expense) with people that are friendly to her and is always willing to play a new board game or card game, even though she always loses quickly, she’s perseverant on that point. When fighting though, she is ruthless. She has no idea what restraint is as a result of her training which forced her to always fight her hardest in order to even survive through the training. Or at least it felt like she would die from training if she didn’t. Still, a lot of her sparring partners will now think twice before agreeing to a “friendly” match.
Abilities
Aura type: Speed : While she can’t really feel the difference since it has been the case all her life, it is strangely easier for her to move around than a normal person. It’s like the air itself is being passively shifted by her aura to help her movements, making her slightly faster and more agile.
Aura Color: Light-green
Semblance: Wind weaving. While Chloe has potential control over one of the most common element, the resources to actually use it well. Her aura levels are too low for her to really have a lot of constant power output and she is prone to exhaustion when she uses it even sparsely. Most of what she can do it use the wind she can create to augment her natural abilities, be it power or speed. She may use her Semblance as an attack itself with quite a bit of power, be it long-range blades of wind or a concussive wind attack, but the drain on her low Aura levels is rarely worth it. It is her current goal to develop and master her Aura so she can use her semblance. Her dream would be to one day find a way to use it to fly.
Item 1: Spear : Nothing much to say, it’s a spear. The whole thing is made of the most durable metal that can be turned into a weapon, making it virtually indestructible. It is also extremely heavy for its size, being made of solid metal, yet Chloe handles it as easily as if it was weightless.
Item 2: Physical Armor : Helmet, shoulder and breast plate, leather boots and various other sturdy yet flexible leather parts, she wears a pretty sparse looking armor. It is made so as not to impair her movements and offer protection nonetheless. Like her spear, it is virtually indestructible and weights more than it looks.
History and Sample
- History:
Some stories are happy, some are sad, but most are actually both. Life has its ups and downs and while one person’s down point is actually someone else’s highest, it is still inevitable that if it’s down, it will go up sooner or later and if it’s up, it will definitely go down. Because that is life and if there wasn’t any variations it would be a flat line.
Chloe’s life started on an all-time low. Poor family of avian faunus living in Vacuo barely able to feed themselves. Their station was more the fault of Chloe’s parents than the actual society. They had total disdain toward humans to the point that they rejected any and all opportunities if it forced them to live with humans. The arrival of their daughter in their life unfortunately didn’t change things for them and Chloe was raised for her few first years as an underfed and frail child who always looked at the birds in the sky and wishing she could fly freely with them. Her mother was the one who realised their lifestyle wasn’t fitting for a child and dropped her at the age of five at an orphanage. She had seen some faunus there looking happy and hoped her child would also be. Chloe never saw her parents again after that and actually thinks they didn’t survive their chosen lifestyle.
The thing about people whose life starts at an all-time low, is that it can only get better from there. At the orphanage, she discovered the joy of food, especially cheese that she particularly enjoyed for some reason. She discovered the fun of card and board games as well as simply the pleasure of having friends. She also discovered the other side of the medal. The prejudices and the discrimination for her kind. The other faunus told her that a lot of people are like that outside the orphanage and that a lot of them actually hide their animal features.
She lived in that orphanage over a year before she was spotted by a group of travelers, mercenaries apparently. She was out of the orphanage at the time, wearing a hat to hide the feathers that grew through her hair from the top and back of her head. Most of her friends had been adopted and she felt pretty alone. She must have looked quite miserable, even though it was nothing compared to life before the orphanage, since a young red-headed girl, about twelve or so, came to see her and brought her to her parents after hearing she was an orphan. The girl’s family members were pretty loud but for some reason Chloe found them charming, something she would often say she regretted later on. Still, after a few family arguments that looked funny at the time and a bunch of paperwork, she was adopted. They let Chloe decide if she wanted to keep her original family name, which she said she would in case her parents ever searched for her.
Thus started her life of travels and training… intense training… TOO intense training. They thought her to fight using the spear as a weapon, which she actually mastered quickly. They also helped her release her Aura and discover her Semblance. They molded her in a warrior and she embraced that lifestyle, finding enjoyment in gaining skills and strength. Regardless, she genuinely believes her new family is crazy. Oh she love them; they got her out of that sand pit of a kingdom and showed her green fields, forests and so many more things. Yet, when it time to train, she could swear that their eyes were glowing with sadism. Their argument was that she was too frail and that she was starting her training late. So of course, her training was three times the norm… or whatever was the norm for that group. Her family was actually part of a bigger clan, the Oda Clan, which was known through remnant as a mercenary clan. Yet, she would tell you they were like a mini-clan by themselves, somewhat more extreme than the rest. She did interact with the rest of the clan, had friends in them and all. One of them was named Flip Nelson and she liked talking with him since he was probably the most normal. But even that soon changed when the clan split after the death of the previous chief. The new one, Flip’s father, wanted to settle down in Bellmuse, a growing kingdom with its own Hunter school. Her family was totally against this change and were the one separating themselves from the rest of the clan, some others following. Chloe wasn’t too pleased with the decision. While she liked her life, she thought settling down sounded like a good idea. Hunter school sounded like an even greater idea. She wanted to develop her Aura, deepen her reserves, but her family concentrated only on raw strength and physical prowess. Hunter school sounded like a good place for it since they would have classes for that.
So, she took a decision and decided to go to Syne anyway. Her family at first was against it, but they actually didn’t look surprised. Her adoptive mom was the most understanding since she knew she wanted to work on her Aura and that they couldn’t help her more than they already did. So packing her things, saying her goodbyes, she took to the road and went to enroll. Maybe there she could find a way to fly as she dreamed of since as long as she could remember.

Sleep is always a moment of peace and serenity. Dreams and calm reign over a person while she recuperates her energy. But not in the Oda clan.
“Hiiiiiiiiyaaaa!!!!!” Chloe didn’t understand for a second. They were camped in a plain and the sun hadn’t even risen up. Yet, she found herself tearing through the tent’s wall at high velocity, courtesy of her brother grabbing her by the arm and throwing her out. She actually clang to her covers and brought them with her in her brief and painful flight.
Now perfectly awake, she saw her mom, dad, sisters and brothers all circling her with axes, polearms, swords and spears, ready to attack. “Oh come on y’all! Seriously? Can’t ya at least let me put on somethin’ more than me pajamas?” Chloe was dressed in some shorts and a loose shirt, not really an outfit to fight in.
Her mother looked at her warmly, which contrasted quite violently with the cold steel of her pole-axe. “Now now, that wouldn’t have been a real surprise trainin’ if we didn’t catch ya off guard, don’t ya think darlin’?”
Chloe was looking around, trying to find an opening back toward the tent where she could grab her spear at least… Or any weapon really other than a blanket. “Ain’t a surprise when y’all attackin’ me every day at weird times!” She threw her blanker in the face of her sister, trying to pass by her and reach the tent where her beloved spear was, but of course that was underestimating the swordplay of her sister who cut the blanket in ribbons… there was even a large piece shaped perfectly like a sparrow. “Aww sh…” Was all Chloe could say before she received a kick from said sister, throwing her back in the circle.
“Nice try sis’, but not ‘nuff.” Chloe looked around. She was surrounded by crazy people. How could she even love people that crazy? She had to escape! But she was in her pajamas, and as far from civilisation as she was, she would not run around in her PJs. Preparing to her fate she looked toward her mother. For some reason, they had that sadistic glow in their eyes as if they were burning her with a stare.
Her father was the next to talk, laying his axe lazily on his shoulder. “Now darlin’… Ain’t the time to try and flee. It’s time for what I like to call : surprise-unarmed-fighting-against-overwhelmin’-force trainin’. Ya know it’s our specialty!”
Chloe on her side could only had one thing on her mind. “Oh god, I’m sooooo dead this time…”
