Summer. Having been enrolled Into Syne right when summer break started, She still had quite sometime before proper classes started. Months even. Of course, Melody had already decided that she was done living the homeless life, and had chosen to take a single summer class in combat in order to be permitted to live in the Dorm hall all season. Still, even that wouldn't start for another few days, so she had some time to kill.

She chose to use said time on the one thing she loved the most, music. It was about lunchtime, the sun having just reached its peak about an hour ago. Melody sat on the edge of a step at the front entrance of the castle, a slightly used acoustic guitar in her arms. She strummed it lightly, enjoying the chords. Soon she evolved those chords into a melody, plucking the strings that coresponded to whatever note she felt should come next. She did not play any one song, but instead decided to improvise the tune, just to pass the time.

It did not take long for Melody to lose herself in the music. It always felt nice, sitting alone with her music. Very soothing. Soon she was just playing, completely losing touch with her surroundings.

Niraya was at her favorite coffee shop near the castle. she was sitting outside in the sun with a cup of tea on the table next to her. She was reading a book in the sunlight. The book was about a girl who plays a game called The World. she was on the second book of the set. she was quietly reading when she hears the music start up nearby. her ears twitched as they began looking for the source of the sound. she marks her place in the book before getting up, and grabbing her tea. She was interested in what was making that music. as she follows the sound of the music she comes across a girl playing an acoustic guitar. She takes a sip of her tea as she listens not wanting to bothering her. her tail swings back and forth slowly as she was enjoying the music.

With closed eyes, Melody continued to play. There was nothing like the sound of a good acoustic. While it did not sound at its best outdoors, it was still enough to encapsulate the musician in another world. However, when she opened her eyes the world came crashing down, shattered upon reality. What she saw was another person, a faunus no less, watching her play. Melody gasped and stood up with a jolt, nearly knocking her guitar to the ground. Without a word she spun around and briskly walked off without looking back. She found a bench nearby, close to the border of the woods with the blue leaves, Finnek. It seemed peacefull enough. She grabbed a seat and put on her headphones that had been around her neck. If she could not play her own music, this was the next best thing. She did not want to risk another sudden audience member. She could not stand playing in front of people.

Niraya was silently listening to this girl play. she would drink a bit of her tea every now and then as her tail swished back and forth to the music. This girl even though her music seemed random it was beautiful none the less. she watches as the girl stops playing and starts to run off once she saw her listening to her play. afraid that she offended her in some way follows her so that she could apologize.

she eventually catches up with the girl outside of town near the forest. she stops next to her and bows. once she had her attention she then spoke. "Im sorry if i offended you in some way. i heard your music from the coffee shop, and came to see what it was about. your music was quite beautiful. OH! sorry where are my manners. Hi my name is Niraya Huntsmith, its nice to meet you."

Melody tried to relax herself again, but it was now proving a bit difficult. Once something makes you feel nervous, you feel that paranoia for at least the hext half hour or so. The faunus girl from before did not give poor Melody adaquate time to gather herself before she showed back up. So she wanted to apologize. Alright, go away now. So she came over to see where the music was coming from. Okay. Go away now. So she thought Melody's music was beautiful. Heh, where have I heard that before? But seriously, go away now. The alarm was visible on her face. She could not stand the Faunus. not this one in particular, as this one had technically done nothing wrong. Melody knew that. She understood that. However it was the entire race she feared. Something of a post traumatic stress disorder. Oh, Now she's introducing herself. She isnt gonna go away then? Melody would have to take matters into her own hands. "P-please go away..." Normally she had more confidence, but Faunus were probably her number one fear. "Just leave me alone." Melody would have walked off again, but running away is futile if Niraya was going to be following her.

Niraya's ear twitches when Melody kept asking to be left alone, her interest peaking ever so slightly by the second as she got more intent with knowing melody's reasons behind her rather harsh words against her. "I get the feeling you don't like me... But I was being nice to you, why are you being so mean back to me? I didn't do anything to you, I'm just trying to be a friend. What did I do to earn such a disrespectful set of words from you?" Niraya's tail twitches back and forth as she was slightly ticked off. Why did the girl have to be rude when she was only trying to be nice to her, what did she do to deserve that?

Niraya spoke up with a follow up set of words. "If you have an issue with me then just come out and say it!...Its because im faunus isn't it? Because I have ears and a tail, because I'm not human like you?" Niraya sighed and placed her hand on her face in sheer mental stress, trying to focus on what she could. What was this girls problem with her? "Are you racist? Or just scared of faunus like me?" Niraya waits for Melody's answer, her tail twitching a bit faster as she wanted, no, demanded her questions be answered instead of brushed off to the side. She wasn't going to back off on this, racism against the Faunes was just plain wrong on so many levels it was a joke if it were anything remotely important.
